The Ottoman Cave Hotel's rock-faced rooms exude an ancient charm. Niches carved into the stone walls hold embroidered lanterns, and the bedding carries the scent of plants and trees. The stone floor is cool, yet not freezing. Morning mist drifts across the terrace, and in the distance, the spire of a mosque pierces the veil. The honey for breakfast is thick, sweetened by the wheat pancakes, and crisply tart by the wild berry jam. For the night, the rock face envelops the silence, with only the sound of the wind sweeping through the cracks. Fall asleep to the scent of the stars and moon, and wake to the gifts of the mountains—a quaint and soothing experience. The hot air balloon experience in Cappadocia is the highlight of this trip. Before dawn, we drive to the takeoff point and watch the crew inflate the giant balloon. The roar of the jet of flame evokes anticipation. The moment we lift off, the morning mist swirls beneath our feet, and the ravines and rock pillars resemble sleeping giants. As the sun rises, the earth gradually bathes in golden red and orange, and the shadows within the folds of the ravines slowly fade. Floating in the air for an hour, it felt like being suspended in the clouds overlooking a fairy tale. The champagne celebration upon landing added a layer of sweetness to the shock, making it unforgettable.
The room was great. You could see the hot air balloons right in the room. They were very welcoming and taught us how to take pictures. When we came back late at night, the chef worked overtime to prepare a rich meal for us. It was very delicious. The hotel is very big and there are many places to see the hot air balloons. In short, if I come here again, I will definitely choose their hotel. My room is also the best one in the whole hotel.
The place is a wonderful location. The staff is extremely helpful and attentive. You can walk to a lot of different attractions in the region without much difficulty. There’s 20 or 30 restaurants within a five minute walk the view of the hot air balloon balloons from my room was amazing. The Turkish breakfast included in the room is a great value and is so large. It can also count as lunch.
We would definitely recommend it and we would stay there again
We stayed for 3 nights and 4 days. This place is in a very nice location. Right under the castle. The staff were very friendly. The breakfast each morning was delicious. We stayed in the cave hotel. Was a great experience. We had a jacuzzi in the room which our 5 year old loved. The room was really cozy and warm. Trip.com got our booking incorrect and didn’t mention we had a 5 year old with us. The hotel were very helpful. Offered us a bed for the room and made our stay pleasant
Urgup is more of a local spot and it’s like 10 minutes car ride from Goreme the city center or more touristy spot.
We love the hotel for the room is spacious, amenities were great, service was extra-ordinary, the breakfast was superb and eventhough we arrived at the property few hours early, they check us in without any charge. Thank you for that!
If you are staying here you will enjoy peace and serenity. Which we love!
But if you like city like ambience, Urgup is not the place, stay in Goreme.
Which hotel you stay is not important for hot air balloon because most of the hot air balloon package will include hotel transfer to hot air balloon site and back to the hotel.
Check out my IG DutaKelantan for video of this hotel. You going to love this hotel.
Facilities were clean and well kept. Breakfast selection was good and available from 8:30-10:30 every morning. Reception was friendly and available to answer questions and provide information regarding tours/activities. The hotel is located up a hill which is about a ten minute walk from the center of town. Excellent view of the hot air balloons every day from the top of the hotel.
I don't understand how the high score was obtained. The service staff is quite enthusiastic and can be given 5 points, but the rest is really worrying. It is called a hotel, but it is actually a homestay. The room facilities are very unreasonable, such as the night light that cannot be turned off, which is the kind of spotlight. In the end, the waiter moved the wooden bedside table up to turn off the light. There is a wardrobe right below the air conditioner, which means that the air conditioner wind must be blocked by the wardrobe, and the cooling effect is worrying. The room is located in a very remote location, and two taxi drivers couldn't find it. The cost performance of this hotel can be said to be extremely low.
I highly recommend it!!!
Stayed 5 nights. I felt pretty good when I first moved in. The room was large and the one we stayed in had a private balcony. What is surprising is that the mineral water in plastic bottles is not free (we have been in Turkey for more than 10 days and have never encountered this situation); although it may be written on the price list and the price is not much, but Leaving this place always makes people feel stingy and disappointed. In terms of facilities, there is no exhaust fan in the bathroom, and the air conditioning is not very good. It is a bit difficult to handle the almost 40 degree weather in August. As for breakfast, maybe because I stayed there for a long time, I felt that the variety was a bit limited.
We had a fantastic 4-day stay at this hotel! The staff were incredibly friendly and accommodating, fulfilling all our requests, including placing us on a higher floor for stunning views. The room was clean, spacious, and perfect for our family of 4 adults. The beds were super comfortable, and the bathroom was large and modern.
Although we experienced a brief power outage one day, it was resolved quickly. The breakfast was amazing with a great variety, and the hotel's restaurant offers delicious meals—slightly pricey but worth it! We were served by the friendly Ibrahim!
A unique touch was the beautiful birds and hens they kept in cages, adding charm to the surroundings. The hotel’s location is ideal, close to the town, and we even got to see hot air balloons right from our room! Overall, it was a superb and memorable experience. Highly recommend!🥰😍
The hotel is great! Although the structure of the cave does not have air conditioning, it is still very cool. The store owner said that hotels in Kappa are basically like this. The breakfast is very rich, but it is really hard for Chinese stomachs. Hahaha, I woke up early the next day and saw hot air balloons on the window. Who knows! ! You can also take photos on the top floor terrace. This hotel satisfied all my romantic feelings about Cappadocia! It was a great experience, but the hotel’s rain shower head needs to be replaced. Everything else is perfect!

AAnonymous UserService here is superb! The receptionist gave us a short tour of the whole hotel include the sister’s hotel as the facilities are shared. The view and the terrace here are AMAZING. You literally find many instagramable spots every corner of the hotel. Had my dinner and breakfast in Seten’s restaurant, I would say they are both really delicious and many choices for the hotel’s breakfast.
Room could be quite small even I booked the Junior Suite, room has no ventilation too, the window can’t be opened so it can get a bit stuffy inside the room.
DDanielll_- Environment is nice and cozy. There is a beautiful terrace and I watched the hot air balloon in the morning!!
- All the staffs are really helpful. They helped us to book the hot air balloon in a cheap price and gave us suggestions for scheduling our trip in Cappadocia.
- The decorations of our room are beautiful too. But there are too many midges/ inserts in the bathroom (more than 10), too awful...
MMrs. Good VibesWe stayed at the Stone Deluxe room and the view of Goreme town view was absolutely amazing. We were arriving to Goreme by night bus at 4AM so the distance from Goreme bus station (at the heart of the town) and 24hrs reception were some important considerations. Guess what, the hotel was just about 300m to the two center with very accommodating host. And the room was in minty condition (bed a bit squeaky), washroom was clean and the amenities were amazing (even gave shower sponges but had to ask for a toothbrush, fyi). Breakfast is provided at the rooftop restaurant of the hotel, and we could look down at the town (says if weather is nice then can see air balloons from distance). Additional advantages are, lobby has an absolutely adorable and timid puppy name Daisy, and we met a beautiful kitty (with character). FYI I don’t think there is an elevator but rooms are up-to 4 stories high. But the hosts are willing to take the luggage for you. Fortunately we were staying jn the stone deluxe, just 2nd stories and located near the entrance of residential building (there are 2~3 buildings connected and a majority of rooms are in the residential building behind the main lobby building). If I ever come back to Goreme I would choose to stay here again.
GGuest User12/10 experience and would definitely recommend this hotel!
It was our first time visiting Cappadocia and we were looking for a luxury cave room experience with an authentic Turkish rooftop terrace.
The customer service at the hotel was exceptional - very friendly, attentive and accommodating. Even when we had checked out, they still displayed the same faultless level of service. We had requested to move to a quieter room and the hotel provided us with an upgrade. They were also very helpful in arranging airport transfers and Ferhad assisted us with our luggage to our room and throughout the hotel. He made us feel very welcome. The breakfast terrace (separate from the rooftop terrace) had a beautiful view and offered a great selection of traditional Turkish breakfast, overlooking the beautiful Göreme.
The hotel itself is located at the most elevated part of the town and their rooftop terrace is spread over three floors - it offers the most amazing view of the hot air balloons at sunrise and is spacious enough for guests to take pictures without feeling crammed. They also offered free Turkish tea throughout our stay!
GGuest UserLocation is perfect, heart of Göreme.
Cave rooms are nicely decorated, dim lighting, ambience and overall design makes you feel like you are really in a cave. Jacuzzi in the room is good but the water takes some time to warm up.
Because this is a real cave hotel (as the worker there explained), there are bits keep coming off from the ceiling in our washroom (not a big disturbance though, but we have to cover our cups when not in use) and we were told that it's normal for a real cave hotel.
Breakfast-wise, food is fine, not much variations in different days but good enough to start a day.. Coffee is only for someone who just need caffeine.
The terrace is nice, staff set up in every morning for the guest. Good thing is, it is not as crowded as other popular hotels.
Overall, staff are very friendly except one guy (who appears to be a senior one), doesn't seem to be welcoming and hospitable. He always talk to us in a blunt tone when we have queries on the stay or the room condition. He definitely ruined our overall experience here! Sigh.
HHanan AmanI booked the hotel because of the reviews and i did not regret it at all! One thing i like the most is the fragrance of the hotel; the lobby smells so good and so did our room! They helped us with the luggages and served tea when we arrived-- the check in experience was fantastic!
Breakfast was tremendously luxurious and delicious. Tons of options and i didnt even know where to start. I did not capture the breakfast buffest since i was too busy eating. Their dessert is good too! Some turkish lokum, cakes and cookies. Wait, did i tell you that i love their salad as well? Oh yes, definitely need to mention that. Baha make sure we had a great time and even helped to deliver fries to our table before the breakfast time finished The whole team at the dining service were tip top-- they serve us with smile.
All in all, the hotel's ambience, cleanliness and nice fragrance made us so comfortable that we didnt want to leave the hotel 🤣🤣
Thank you Grand Suite Hotel! Our first Cappadocia experience is complete with you!
GGuest UserI was absolutely blown away by the dramatically luxurious and dark cave-castle style. The service was excellent, though the air conditioning wasn't very powerful. It's about a 7-minute walk from the town center. Given that public transportation in Goreme isn't very extensive, I'd recommend renting a scooter to freely explore all the nearby sights. The hotel can help book hot air balloon rides at a reasonable price. I highly recommend doing an ATV sunset tour – we inhaled a fair bit of dust for two hours, but it was absolutely worth it! Breakfast was a typical Turkish spread. Overall, highly recommended.

GGuest UserThe courtyard is beautiful, with lawns and cushions. You can see hot air balloons taking off from afar. The cave we stayed in was not a basement, so we didn't feel depressed. The only inconvenience was that there was only a handheld shower in the bathtub, but no overhead shower. You had to bend over to take a shower and wash your hair.
