”Absolutely stunning beachfront cabin! We stayed while in Australia, and it exceeded our expectations in every way. The cabin was immaculately clean, spacious, and modern, with breathtaking views of the ocean from the private deck We spent our day lounging on the beachlooking at kangaroos and our evenings watching the sunset over the water. The staff were friendly and welcoming, and the cabin was equipped with everything we needed for a comfortable stay. The location was perfect - in the national park itself Rating: 5/5 stars

The staff were excellent & the room was divine. It is clearly now a family/young children-centric accommodation. The pool was great but 8 unaccompanied children in the spa (aged approx 4 to 8 years old) diving around (unable to touch the bottom) was very unsafe & uncomfortable for me. 2 parents were on phones more than 5m away. Also screaming toddlers & numerous kids on all 3 billiard tables - defying the sign saying 18 years+ only. We have school-aged kids but it was our special few days so these 2 areas could have been adults only & that would have made all the difference.

Quiet and tucked away from the noisy touristy area. Nice gardens and view of the golf course just across the street. The breakfast didn't have many options. No warm foods. Cold cheese (one kind) and one kind of thinly sliced deli ham. No eggs, sausage, etc. The oat milk provided was out of date and I had to tell a staff member as they didn't know. Not worth $25/person for breakfast. I would only get it if it's already included. Pool is small so you can't swim laps. More of a pool for kids to hang out in. Air conditioning remote wasn't working properly. No Netflix on TV so bring your own HDMI and laptop if you want to watch something. Only basic cable. Overall a nice quiet hotel. Not fancy by any means but good sized room.

This is our second time here and we love the place. The only real complaint we have is we wish they would clean the shower, grout a little better, and the glass on the balconies had loads of spiders and spiderwebs. Other than that very clean and comfortable and the staff is super friendly and helpful.

We stayed at Angourie for 3 nights, Beautiful location and convenient , close to shops and beach. The resort itself needs maintenance. The kids' indoor play area needs a good clean and also a change, and all the safety screen needs we couldn't use it as too many mosquitoes were around. We got some snacks from the restaurant ( calamari and chickens wings ) and this was a let-down for the price you would expect a minimum standard of freshly cooked food. The staff is very friendly and helpful. Overall, we had a nice stay.

Everything about Lane Retreat was perfect—the place and scenery were absolutely beautiful, just as we expected. However, one thing felt a bit lacking. We were there to celebrate our anniversary and had paid $130 for the special preparation. Unfortunately, we were a little disappointed to find just a few roses and a handwritten note, which didn’t quite meet our expectations. We had to make additional efforts to prepare for our special day ourselves. This is simply a recommendation: for special events, it would be wonderful to go the extra mile to ensure customers feel truly celebrated. That being said, Lane Retreat is an incredible place overall, and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. I would still highly recommend it to others!

On the way to Melbourne, I came across this motel which was beyond my expectations. It is located in a very quiet town. The owner was very nice. He was not impatient with our poor English and responded seriously. It is a hotel worth recommending.

The time we arrived at the hotel is late, we find out the check in reception is at two hotels down the road, so we had to get back in the car driving there to check in, get the room key and drive back. As a driver from Canada which we drive on the opposite side of the road we find it's a little bit of inconvenient, especially in the dark. Other than that the room is very nice and clean.

EElisayustianaI love to staying here because of the location, environment, near darling square, paddys market, and kids stay for free. Room Our room has been upgraded to deluxe i think, the bed is queen size, has a bathtub. They offer the cleaning service without any charge. Breakfast Breaksfast are really help when u stay here, because everything is like 17$ above quite expensive. The breakfast consist of scrambled egg, hard boiled egg, any kind of bread, mushroom, sausages, bacon, one asian dish like mie goreng, hashbrown, coffee, tea, milk, yoghurt, fruits, chia pudding, salad, cereals, so complete for simple bfast. The minus only the bed, it is not comfy, maybe they should change the pillow or bed ?

JJarvey AustriaI booked a room with a balcony but when I checked in they said it not available coz their system says standard twin room and showed then showers them My boking when they saw it they said they can’t provide that room on the first night so have to stay in a different room then they said they will bring my bags to the new room but ended up it was in the reception. That wrong system happens a couple of times already but they still haven’t fix the problem. Im not sure I’m gonna stay there again if ever I go back to Sydney. Their location was really good though.

GGuest UserGood location, heart of the CBD, easy to walk to the buzzy areas, also easy to get plenty of passive cigarette smoke right outside the hotel from those low-IQ anti-lung people. Museum [Train] Station is nearby which is good - 15min ride to domestic airport, bus stops nearby can take you to The Gap too. Room was spacious, functional, it's not Hilton but no complaints, cleaning staff are polite and accommodating. No toothbrush or extra soap bars but they were very kind to provide it all when requested — even at 22:00. All staff were friendly, nothing but good vibes, except the Aussie high school girl who checked us in at reception on Friday evening. She was vacant in the brain department, seemed confused about being awake and conversing at the same time. Didn't tell us where breakfast would be (but i can follow my nose), what time it ends (i eat early anyway, so was ok), where the gym is etc. When asked, she said you get discounts on drinks at 'Cidery', although that's not the breakfast place, and i don't drink anyway but she wouldn't know that because she didn't appear to be a fan of knowledge or Q&A. All she said was ”Breakfast is at 'Ember' ” — clearly i'm supposed to know this world famous restaurant named after a dying fire, what floor it's on and which TV show the chef was on. I brilliantly figured out it's 'Amber', it is across the lounge from reception on the same level, which is one level above the entrance on Pitt Street, and i should've spotted it by turning around and checking all the angles, so my bad. There is no TV show chef but the buffet is quite good, as is the machine coffee (which is also nice and hot), so you don't need to order cappuccinos which is an extra charge (If you're new to Aus, note that all cappuccinos/lattes are at least AUD 5.00 and the service is always good, partly because they're having a laugh about selling you mostly warm milk at $5 a mug. Also coffees are never hot enough no matter how many times you say 'extra hot please' because according to law, only the weather is allowed to go above 33 degrees Celsius). Don't know if the hotel had wifi, because Reception-Girl-With-Plastic-Smile never mentioned it (It's ok, my mobile data is unlimited). The only useful thing she told us was the hotel is working on building a swimming pool someday. My wife said I must've met girls like her at Cornell except for the fact that i didn't. Overall i recommend Rydges (and also Hilton), although I prefer the correct spelling of ”ridge”.

BBriFkidVery cleaned room and nice helpers. Near Macquarie Centre and metro, easy to go everywhere and shopping anytime. Nice laundry room and the fitness room. But the choice of breakfast provided by the hotel is very limited, still tastes good. We stayed for 7 nights and everything went well. This place is highly recommended. You can find many chargers in the room. Good privacy and quiet space.

EEdwina__The hotel room is just a 5-minute walk from the bustling downtown area and 10 minutes to attractions like the city hall. The bus stop is about 5 minutes away, making the location very convenient! The hotel room is very comfortable and spacious, with a large balcony and even a kitchen. I will definitely stay here again next time!

GGuest UserWe rolled up to the hotel, bags in hand and spirits high. From the outside, it looked like the kind of boutique spot influencers post on Instagram—cute, chic, and full of promise. We strolled in early, met the staff (who were lovely and all business), and casually asked about early check-in. Much to our surprise—they hit us with an upgrade! Jackpot! We were giddy. Dreams of fluffy robes and a minibar danced in our heads. That is… until we opened the door to our upgraded paradise. The hallway greeted us with a strong aroma of… chicken noodle soup? Maybe Ramen? Honestly, it was hard to tell. It was like a college dorm met a food court. But once we opened our room door? Oh no. That smell leveled up into full-blown “somebody’s been cooking something weird in here for days”. Still, it’s an upgrade, right? Maybe the smell was just... vintage? Then we realized: no air-conditioning. No water. And the bedroom TV? Decorative only. We called the front desk and were offered a fan—because apparently, the air con wouldn’t be fixed anytime soon. Now, yes, it was winter. But we'd been running around Sydney like caffeinated tourists and were basically sweating out our sightseeing schedule. The fan helped blow the smell around the room, if nothing else. So, the upgrade? We're still not sure what it was—maybe it was just the scent… of disappointment. BUT—we were in the heart of Sydney. The location? 10/10. We even had a washer and dryer, which came in handy when our clothes started absorbing that hallway smell. Showering felt a bit like prepping for a Fear Factor challenge, but we made it through. The beds? Solid. Like, literal rocks. I woke up feeling like I'd lost a fight with a cement truck. But hey—we survived two nights. We lived. We laughed. We lightly questioned our life choices. And most importantly: you get what you pay for… and sometimes a little more, like the scent of soup that haunts you long after checkout

AAnonymous UserA group of us stayed here for a couple of nights. The location is really good, especially when you're having a meeting or convention nearby. The building and the rooms are all quite dated, but at least the rooms were acceptably clean. Bed was also alright. The building felt like a really old dormitory. However, something that happened kind of put us off. We checked in and were taking a nap as we were tired. All of a sudden someone opened the door and two other guests came in. We were all of course shocked and apparently the front desk double booked the same room. Went to the front desk, no apologies but just an acknowledgement. At least it was resolved pretty quickly.

AAnonymous UserThis unit is over-priced. We stayed in a double unit, the two of us, which is better suited to either 2 couples or 2 adults and 2 kids which would justify the price. Upstairs is almost a carbon copy of downstairs in that both have almost full kitchens (no ovens), excellent reverse cycle air conditioning, TV's etc. Other than a very old, very off carton of milk left in the fridge the unit was exceptionally clean. Upon arriving, we were asked to pay which we had already done when booking. Beware no refunds once booked although this didn't apply in our case. Otherwise, the staff were friendly and helpful. Had to ask for toilet paper and purchase milk as only two small milk thimbles in fridge. Expected to wash up, dry and put away dishes and utensils before leaving and remove all garbage. We usually do this anyway but I thought it was quite an ask to be expected at those prices. It's post-Covid so I am wondering if lack of staff is the reason for this and perhaps this may change in the future. No buffet or restaurant on site. No room service. Don't expect any meals. No foxtel as advertised. At least we couldn't get it but they did have Netflix provided. We took our chromecast with us, thank goodness! The pool is much smaller than it looks in the pictures. Maybe 25 metres? Also, in the afternoon a lot of it is shaded. It's not heated so it's pretty chilly even in late November. The beach is gorgeous but the room we had didn't have views and the units are in the street behind the main shops so whilst very close to the beach (a mere two minutes) it isn't overlooking the beach. Also, very tight carpark if you have a larger car. I would recommend the family unit or double unit for 3 to 4 people. Otherwise stick to a single unit. I probably would not return unless with another couple because there are nicer places with more amenities that don't expect you to do the housework at the same or even better prices.
