Facilities match the price. The room is spacious and comfortable. It's just that the bathroom lights are a bit dim and the physical condition of the building looks a little worn. If repainted it will look more cheerful.
The hotel serves its purpose as a stopover spot between Perhentian islands and the big land. Clean, comfortable with lovely staff. Breakfast is limited but once again, makes sense considering why it is there. The pricing is also aligned with the circumstances.
Good experience.
Boat transfers arrangement was flawless.
The location of the hotel is very strategic as it's just within 2-3 minutes walk to KTCC and the beach. The sea view at the family room is calming. Breakfast is okay - not too shabby with different main menu each day. The staff are polite. Restaurants, cafes and laundry shops are also within walking distance. The bed sheet and carpet in the toilet can be cleaner. Places of interests are not too far off either.
Our suite room was big enough for 4 of us to stay but amenities provided were not sufficient. We asked for extras they happily provided us in a minute. Excellent room service!
Something special from this hotel. They have a small nice room on the top floor for viewing the Draw Bridge. Excess free for all guests. This is bonus.
Ferdaus is a very dedicated staff. While. One of young lady isn't friendly n not given guest to have second key card.....hope tat your hotel change a Centralia's aircond to single aircond. Room is very cosy n wide. *************
our rooms are on the third floor..quite incovenient because i had knee pain..next time should stated which floor the room offered..so that we can choose lower floor..
Big room. Comfortable. Bathrooms are all clean. Limited breakfast. Gotta go down a little fast. Overall everything is okay. The hotel is really close to the payang market. in the middle of the city. Can be reached on foot. In front of the hotel there is a white mosque. Muslims can pray near there.
Only this is an old hotel. So the furniture is all old. Receptionists are all friendly. Really satisfied. School holiday fully book. Must book early.

I had a wonderful stay at The Payang Hotel! Even though there were only two of us, we opted for the family room, which was very spacious and comfortable. The location is excellent—within walking distance to Pasar Payang, where there’s a lively atmosphere and plenty of shops. We also found many great places to eat nearby, making meal times convenient and enjoyable. It’s close to Masjid Putih, which was a lovely landmark to visit during our stay.
The hotel’s on-site restaurant serves delicious food, and their coffee and cakes are delightful. During our stay, we tried several dishes and desserts, all of which were very good. The Chinois Cafe, located within the hotel, offers a unique and aesthetically pleasing dining experience.
The hotel staff were friendly and helpful, and the overall cleanliness and comfort of the property truly made our trip memorable. I’d happily recommend The Payang Hotel to anyone looking for a convenient and pleasant place to stay in the area!
The hotel is located walking distance to Chinatown and generally clean. A little old and various parts of the hotel are under maintenance and repair.

AAnonymous UserThe hotel is excellent. It offers great value for money and has direct beach access. While the room itself was a bit dated, having the beach right there made me totally overlook it! 😂 The pool was clean, and breakfast was just okay. It's truly perfect for a relaxing escape to clear your mind. 👍👍 Overall, I highly recommend it.
VViv chuaPerfect holiday getaway. Booked the family seafront which was just completed in Apr24. Everything works well as the new unit, cold bottled water and cold room in a heated noon is a real blessing. Rooms are clean and good to have toilet separated from shower room. We use Cosmic Divers as it’s cheaper compared with Barat’s, not to mention additional 10+8% tax! Cosmic allowed us to choose our preferred dive spots and offer pick up/drop off.

AArinaIn general, we've had excellent time in the PIR. The resort is good, located on a beautiful sandy beach with incredible snorkelling opportunities; the territory is nice and spacious. With that being sad, the hotel should be better maintained - some bed linen and towels are so old they have holes in them, there are barely any sunbeds on the beach, etc. Also, the restaurant's food leaves much to be desired. The spa is, however, rather nice, as well as the dive centre.
LLiana A.Overall, my experience at this budget hotel was a mix of pros and cons. I had booked a standard room, which I found to be small but decent. However, there was a noticeable smell in the room and the bed was not very comforting. The cleanliness of the room was okay, although the toilet had a lingering smell.
The amenities provided in the room were basic but sufficient, including a small ironing board, slippers, towels, shampoo, and shower gel. There was no complimentary water bottle, you can buy your own at 7eleven or at the reception.
On the positive side, the hotel's location was excellent. It was conveniently situated near a drawbridge, food restaurants, a self-service laundry, a 7-Eleven, a Secret Recipe outlet, and an Ayam Geprek restaurant.
This is a decent accommodation at an affordable price, still a practical choice for travelers looking for a convenient stay on a budget.
