This apartment is very comfortable, in a great area with a stunning view of the marina. The fridge is large, the bed is soft and extra pillows depending on the menu can be delivered. There is a 24 hour robot delivery for food and supplies ordered from stores. There is a convenience store 200m outside of the main entrance. You can walk to the May 4th statue and marina in about 10 minutes. Don't miss out on the neon light extravanga on all the buildings in that street that you can see from the windows. The famous beer street is not too far away either. The staff were friendly and very helpful.

This was the best hotel I’ve stayed in while in China. There is a reason why it’s number 1 in Qingdao. From the moment I walked in I was looked after by staff, particularly Eric and Crystal, who made sure I was able to have the best full experience. The view of the ocean took my breath away and spent lots of my time in the hotel because it was that beautiful!! Thank you again Eric and Crystal for making my first time to Qingdao so special :) I highly recommend you book this place!!

Location is excellent, with an exit to Metro Line 3 just outside the hotel, 2 mins walk away. The street behind the hotel also has lots of local eateries then there's a big mall just across the road. Room is a good size and I'm impressed that everything comes in a sanitized/disinfected sealed packaging, including all the towels! Gives a strong comfort on hygiene. The sockets are all universal, so no need for adaptors. It's also a smart room installed with Xiao Du AI with voice command capability. The shower water pressure is strong. Bed is firm and they've got both the firm foam pillow and soft ones to fit different preferences. The room also came with a free fruit platter and ample complimentary bottled water.
I also like that the room doors come with inspiring quotes. Each level has a washing machine and dryer and small microwave. The lobby is huge and staff are friendly and helpful. If I must find fault, it's probably in the security in the sense that the lift does not require key card access so anyone can just come up to the rooms. Though I did not experience anything unsafe during my stay.
A truly 5* experience at 4* pricing. Certainly my choice hotel the next time I return to Qingdao.

Let me talk about the advantages first: the location is good. Although it is in a residential area, the navigation can accurately guide you to the entrance. After placing the order, the customer service manager will contact me proactively and pull a group of 7 people to solve various problems. He proactively upgraded to a sea-view king room and helped me carry my luggage.
Let's talk about the disadvantages: I came here because of the high ratings, but after moving in I could still feel some shortcomings in the hardware and software. Let's talk about the hardware first. The guest rooms are in a villa with three floors. The first floor is the thighs, the second floor is the shoe-changing area and some guest rooms, and the third floor is another part of the guest rooms. The size of guest rooms is generally small, which is easy to understand if it is an economy hotel, but there are seven or eight bedrooms in a three-story villa. It is hard to imagine whether it is an original design or a later renovation.
Disadvantages 1: There is no elevator, so it will be very troublesome for guests with suitcases. 2: Guests entering the guest room area are required to change into the slippers they provide on the second floor. They cannot wear their own shoes to enter the guest room area. They said that the wooden floor used in the villa decoration is more precious, so they must change shoes. I have stayed in so many hotels, whether they were handmade stalls or century-old hotels, the floors were already creaking, but no one asked me to change my shoes. I thought I was secretly staying in a palace. 3: The windows of the room face the street. Whether it is day or night, if the curtains are opened, the view inside the room can be seen without reservation (Figure 3, Figure 4, and Figure 5). The housekeeper said there was a gauze curtain, but I didn’t find it. I also want to ask, what should I do if I want to hang clothes to dry? 4: There are many green plants planted outside the building, and many flowers and plants are arranged at the entrance of the first floor, which causes a lot of mosquitoes. Friendly reminder to the housekeeper that you can take long-term mosquito repellent measures around and at the entrance. The worst case scenario is mosquito coils. The cheapest ones don’t cost more than a few yuan a day, which is better than nothing, right? I just can't think of it.
Now, let's talk about software.
Question 1: A pair of slippers was provided in the bathroom, but there were foreign objects in them (Figure 6 and Figure 7), which clearly indicated that the bathroom was not cleaned or inspected properly. When you encounter a problem, there are a lot of explanations. Question 2: When cleaning, the housekeeper asked, ”We only clean the garbage in the bathroom and room. Do you want us to help you throw it away?” The expression is startling. Is there anyone who doesn’t throw away garbage? Or is “only cleaning the bathroom” a VIP service? Is there any other space besides the bathroom? The land is only this big.

it's been while since I stayed here, and it's good to see the 'designer quirkiness' continues, which is unusual for a budget hotel, right?
The lobby has a 24 hour coffee bar, decked out with anything but the plain neutral walls you'd expect— see photos.
The rooms keys and notices have tags 'Step into the Ibis Groove' with a vinyl record icon! and 'Enjoy the silence'! 🤫. Great Stuff!— see photos
The room has a mini bar, that doubles as a stand up desk, very handy for those use to stand up desks— see photos
all this makes the place little more memorable and ilnteresting compared to usual cheap & cheerful budget hotels, but like all budget hotels it not use to catering to international travellers so the use of English is pretty low amongst staff. If you can't speak mandarin make sure you download an app, preferably one that works offline as the internet sucks at IBIS.

We were given a complimentary room upgrade, which was a lovely surprise. The room was very spacious, and the service was excellent. For families traveling with kids, having laundry facilities available was incredibly convenient. The breakfast area was very clean and well-maintained; it would have been even better with a wider variety of options. The hotel's location is also very convenient for getting around, with easy access to Metro Lines 2 and 3, plus various bus routes. One minor issue was the low water pressure in the bathroom and slow drainage, which might be due to ongoing renovations.

Subject: Request for Room Change Delay – Service Improvement and Compensation Request
Dear Westin Qingdao Team,
I am writing to express my dissatisfaction with the room change request process I experienced today. I initially requested a room change for a better view, and despite waiting for over an hour, I did not receive any proper response or resolution.
When I first arrived at my room, I found that one side of the view was almost entirely blocked by the neighboring building, which was not what I expected. I called the front desk to request a room change, but after 20 minutes with no response, I called again. I was told the team was checking on it. After waiting another 10 minutes without any follow-up, I called once more. The staff seemed to have difficulty communicating in English and repeated that they were still checking. Eventually, I was told that a room on the 16th floor might be available, and someone would come to show it to me.
However, no one came. I waited again, then called once more about 10 minutes later, only to be told that the front desk was still confirming and that the new room would not be ready for another 30 minutes. At this point, I had already wasted nearly an hour of my time in Qingdao without any clarity on whether I could even change rooms.
As a guest who chose your esteemed hotel for its reputation for excellent service, this experience has been highly disappointing. The lack of communication and inefficient handling of a simple request does not meet the standard expected from the Westin brand.
I kindly request a formal explanation of this situation and an appropriate form of compensation for the inconvenience I experienced. I hope this matter will be addressed seriously to ensure a better guest experience going forward.
Thank you for your attention, and I look forward to your prompt response.
Best regards,
Youngho Yoon

Booked Building A, if you don't care much about the decoration, it is the best value for money, a four-star hotel with a long-standing brand, free parking, luxurious lobby, attentive service, and a price of 300+ during the Golden Week. Building A is old decoration, quite old-fashioned. In the upstairs of Building A, in the elevator and corridor, I met families who brought their kids to Qingdao to play. It seems that everyone recognizes this place. Building B should be newly decorated. After all, it is a four-star hotel, which can give you a natural sense of solidity.

Just returned from a stay at Qingdao Yilan Xinsu Hotel—a solid choice near Shilaoren Bathing Beach and the International Convention and Exhibition Center 🤩. With an impressive overall Trip.com rating of 8.8/10, guests rave about its service, cleanliness, and convenience .
The location scores about 8.9/10—it’s roughly a ten-minute walk to the sandy beach and sits just 8.5 km from Qingdao’s downtown core and 14 km from Qingdao North Railway Station. Not ideal if you need a car—there’s no on-site parking (). Amenities and service both come in around 8.6–8.9/10, with friendly staff and smooth check‑in/out process (). Cleanliness is top notch with a clean rating of 9.0/10 .
🌞 What stood out:
• Rooms are spacious and bright, featuring big windows and modern décor in a sleek New‑Chinese style. Everything felt new and well-kept .
• The beds are comfy (2.2 × 2.2 m, pure cotton linens), showers felt luxurious, and the soundproofing was excellent. Also enjoy convenient rapid check‑out service with personal touches .
• The breakfast buffet gets solid praise—tasty and well-rounded start to the day ().
💤 Stay comfort: 9.0/10
• Clean, modern, and thoughtfully designed rooms made for a relaxing and bright stay.
📍 Location: 8.9/10
• Close to beach access and the expo center, plus shopping and transit nearby—but no parking if you’re driving.
🤝 Service: 8.9/10
• Staff are described as friendly and helpful; check-in and check-out are seamless.
🛎️ Amenities: 8.6/10
• Offers the basics—Wi-Fi, in-house restaurant (light meals available), and cozy space—but lacks a gym or pool .
⸻
✅ Quick tips:
• Ask for a seaview or beach‑side room—light is great, and views are peaceful 🌊🌅.
• It’s walkable to the sand and just a short ride from Qingdao International Convention Centre.
• No parking, so if you’re self-driving, plan to park nearby or use public transport 🚉.
• No fitness center or pool, but hey—you’re steps from the beach 🏖.
⸻
Final verdict: With modern rooms, sparkling clean spaces, strong service, and a primo location near Shilaoren Beach and the convention center, Qingdao Yilan Xinsu Hotel scores a solid 9/10. Great pick for business travelers or chill beach escapes alike! 😌✨

8852 Serendipitous LifeOverall the hotel staff and service are 4 star. What makes the hotel 5 Star are the rooms and facilities. It is clean, safe, and well maintained.
To be fair, I did arrive in early April during the off-season but I was not impressed with the service provided. Staff was consistently difficult to find, or would be crowded all in the lobby. Check-In and Check out was easy and the staff are very nice. International guests be aware, few to no staff speak English or communicate in any other language.
The breakfast was not good. Cold and hard food, empty plates, drinks and foods not being refilled, and then having the lights turned off after breakfast was finished being served. Few selections, mainly cheap foods and breads.
There are no staff outside, during my time there. No bell hops, no one to guide you to the front desk (Because it is not easy to find at first), no one to help with your luggage. A single staff member stands at the front of the lobby after you enter to greet you.
Positives - The room was spacious and very clean. It had most things I needed and the quality of the room and bathroom was excellent. The balcony looked over the courtyard and the ocean which people can see you if you go out but was a nice addition. The island the hotel is on has everything close by and most taxis/Didi’s will pick you up within five minute
The area has been developing for many years and is getting better each year. The Qingdao Beer Festival ground are close by (about 30 minutes drive) during the summer, but most activities are in the city about one hour drive away for the rest of the year.
For this hotel, the room and facilities are the focus as they are well taken care of and maintained. I am not sure if I would return.

GGuest UserThe hotel is conveniently located very close to the Olympic Sailing Center, with excellent transport links. There are plenty of restaurants and shops nearby, all within easy walking distance.
Upon arrival, we were upgraded to a suite. Since we were traveling with seniors and children and had a lot of luggage, the concierge proactively helped us with our bags to the room.
The hotel offers on-site parking, which is great for guests traveling by car. The swimming pool is free for guests, and the children absolutely loved it.
Overall, we were extremely satisfied!

NNatasha PutterMy kids and I spent a week in Qingdao and stayed at the Crowne Plaza Hotel. It turned out to be a lovely getaway. The room was clean, well-stocked with everything we needed, and offered a stunning ocean view—plus, we were treated to fireworks every evening right from our window, which was a magical touch.
Breakfast was available every morning with a good range of options; we appreciated the variety. Room service was a hit with the kids—they couldn’t get enough of the spaghetti bolognaise and popcorn chicken! I personally enjoyed the club sandwich and the beef noodles.
We devoted an entire day to the water park, where the kids had an absolute blast. Although some parts of it could use renovation, it didn’t dampen our fun.
One of our favorite activities was cruising around the resort on four-wheel e-bikes—it felt like a private adventure since much of the area was quiet and fairly abandoned, but that added a special charm.
The beach is also just across the road, so you can go play in the sand at any time, there are also some men who offer horse and jet ski rides right on the beach. The beach also isn’t too crowded.
The only drawback was the resort’s location. It’s quite far from most of Qingdao’s main attractions, so every excursion required at least an hour-long Didi ride. Still, the experience was well worth it, and we genuinely enjoyed our stay. We’d absolutely return again.

DdyhxLocation is excellent, with an exit to Metro Line 3 just outside the hotel, 2 mins walk away.
FFrankieU ´꓃ ` UExcellent, another perfect vacation! The hotel facilities were fantastic, with a large pool and a gym that even had a squat rack – oh my gosh, I absolutely loved it! The weather was great, and the views were stunning.
The island itself is very quiet, with beautiful scenery. The evenings were cool, and riding a bike with the sea breeze blowing was incredibly pleasant. We were lucky enough to be there during the full moon (the 15th of the ***** month), and seeing the big, round moon over the sea was truly breathtaking!
There are all sorts of vehicles available for rent on the island – bicycles, electric scooters, and even colorful, fancy ones. You can rent whatever you like to tour the island, which is very convenient. Just off the island is the massive Sunac Mall, and I mean *massive*. It has every kind of food, drink, and clothing imaginable, whether you've seen it before or not. On the first floor, there's also a Sunac Land amusement park, which is a lot of fun.
The hotel staff were all quite friendly and helpful.
Finally, a few minor drawbacks: breakfast was incredibly crowded, though thankfully the hotel had an overflow restaurant available, which was a lifesaver. The TV in the room was quite old and couldn't screen mirror. Also, the hairdryer wasn't very powerful.
