It's a brand new hotel. As one of the first guests, it's the first time I have an entire hotel to myself. The room is super large, surprisingly clean, and the Nanyang-style villaš is surrounded by banana trees, coconut treesš“, frangipanišø, and green lawns. No š¦, only the faint fragrance of plumeria.
šAbout distance
In the northwest corner of Bohol, an independent island šļøPangangan Island. It takes 2 hours to drive from Panglao. However, dear friends, the hotel is right opposite Cabilaoš¤æ, the famous diving spot in Bohol! Crab boat is a 10-minute sea ride! Friends who like diving can definitely stay at H resort and sail to Cabilaoš¤æ. The experience will be much better!
šµļøAbout Activity
What are you doing living so far away? In fact, it only takes 1 hour to drive to the Chocolate Hills from H Resort, which is about the same as the baby living in Panglao, so the inland tour of the Chocolate Hills ā°ļø Tarsier šµ Lobo River Fireflies šŖ² can be arranged.
Cambuhat Oyster Farm𦪠is about a 30-minute drive from the hotel. It is estimated that other hotels are far away, only H is relatively close.
The hotel's submarine and shooting facilities are currently not open for business, but they will probably be arranged soon!
šWhat can you do in the hotel?
Invincible sea view swimming poolš, you can see us in the swimming pool outside the glass wooden wall, perfect for checking in and taking pictures!
Arrange a sunset seaside spa! At the seaside pavilion, blowing the sea breeze, listening to the wavesš, watchingš , and doing SPAš, it's so comfortable! The massage after diving šāļø really made me feel tired.
š“About the restaurant
Breakfastš¶ļøAmerican, British and Filipino options. The š„„black pepper crabš¦ļø for dinner is super delicious! recommend!
The Badian Resort is best for the secluded getaway or just a quiet rest. Ā You must get yourself by taxi or other vehicle to their pick-up pier where you be greeted by someone from their security team. Ā He will verify you are expected and call one of their speedy water taxis and in 5 minutes you will arrive on the island where you will be met by one of their friendly staff. Ā I was given a welcome flower to wear. Ā I was quickly checked in, then personally escorted to my cabana. Ā The room was very attractive, clean, safe, well laid out, quiet, roomy, and comfortable. Ā Note: Ā the room (my room) had neither teIevision nor phone - which was fine by me. Ā WiFi was great. Ā Cellular was zero. Ā Yes, this is secluded. Ā I arrived too late to use their pool, which closes at 5pm. Ā Had a great dinner there with a large selection to order from. Ā Breakfast was good, but not as good as dinner. Ā The Badianās grounds are fairly large. Ā There didnāt seem to be other businesses or places to go on this island, so the focus is the resort. Ā
I liked it very much and would definitely recommend it for anyone looking a laid back experience.
The room was spacious and clean. The hotel staff were great. Normally I don't book hotels with breakfast but that was not an option when I was booking so I just added a note in my booking that I am vegan. A staff member approached me while I was roaming the restaurant to ask if I wanted to be served food cooked from the kitchen based on my dietary restrictions and it went on for the duration of our stay.
There are many options on where to swim, the beach, the main pool at the ground floor and another pool at the roof deck. They have drinks and foods at the roof deck pool area so it is a nice place to hang out when at the hotel.
The hotel is just 3.1Km away from the Panglao International Airport, around 8 minute drive. You can contact the hotel to request for airport pick-up and drop-off for PhP 200.00 per person. For drop-off, they suggest the latest time to leave the hotel is around 1.5 hours before your flight. There are also a lot of nearby restaurants and spas near the hotel but the road does get a little flooded after a rain so just be more conscious on your footwear during the rainy season.
Very nice and secluded place. If you want a quiet and get away from city vibes, this place is highly recommended. Food is soso. Staff is super kind. Massages are nice, good price. View is amazing! Many swimming pools. Beach right infront. There is also a cave, if you like adventure and not scared of deep dark water, the guide will escort you down. Overall, I had one of the most amazing time there. My friend prefers city modern hotels so she liked it less than me. But, I absolutely enjoyed the remote feeling, felt like we had the whole place to ourselves, other people were there but it really wasn't busy. The staff is very accomodating and I really appreciated their kindness. I will miss Mithi. Will visit again if I go to Bohol again. Highly recommend for couples and families who want quiet get away. Because it is away from city, if you want food you have to get it from their restaurant, which is so so. Also, I loved that they had communal shower and bathroom near the pools which was convenient. You can also get beach towels from there too (as much as you would like)! And the buggie takes you everywhere for free anytime. The buggie comes to your door super fast! I haven't tried it, but you can also do Kayak and snorkeling there too. Cup noodles are recommended, you will want to pack as much as you can. I will miss Mithi! Had such a good time there!
Also, if you wanna do laps in the swimming pool, there is a bigger pool by the spa.
I am a budget traveler but really tried staying at Coco Grove for the experience and it did not disappoint. Worth every penny, the food was so so so good, the staff were kind and approachable, amenities are the best most especially the complimentary snorkel at Tubod Marine Sanctuary, and the facility as a whole is soo beautiful. Will definitely comeback.
The resort is very good overall. However there's a few niggles.
Check in took way too long. 2 people serving? When you have a long queue in the heat of the lobby this isn't a great first impression. The lobby on arrival was so busy. When I've checked into other hotels I've usually been impressed with the smoothness of check in. This wasn't a pleasant experience or environment especially if you're traveling with children.
We couldn't get a massage. We wanted to confirm the time the next day and they wouldn't give us this option.?
The lift? One lift in the main area? For a resort this big and expensive they should have more lifts
The stairs at the pool are stony. This will really hurt your feet when you're not expecting it
The breakfast is good for Filipinos however for Westerners like myself there should be more choice. Not just bread and egg.
The beach is small. You get hassled by people trying to sell you stuff. Protect your belongings. Doesn't feel safe, look out for algae in the water. Not pleasant to swim through.
The resort restaurants are very expensive.
The lobby isn't air conditioned? Why not make it a pleasure to be in the lobby and serve coffee to guests?
Not everyone wants ice tea.
We were told to pay 6000php on arrival which luckily we had but we didn't know about this deposit for incidentals ahead of time.
The positives are.
They gave us umbrellas when we walked outside for the shade.
The shower in our room was excellent.
The warm water in the pool. And swimming till late is lovely.
The staff are very good and attentive and professional. They served us with care and attention and nothing was too much trouble. I got looked after by the nurse at 10pm.
My stay at the hotel was great. The staff were so nice and friendly, and while there was only one restaurant on site, there was a strip mall next door with multiple dining options and several souvenir shops. There were some empty storefronts, but these appear to be the lingering effects of the long pandemic shutdown.
The grounds and beachfront were pretty and well-maintained, and there is a looong beachfront to walk. The nearby town and Alona Beach were accessible, but aside from doing a city tour and a countryside tour, the latter of which included visiting the Chocolate Hills and the Tarsier Sanctuary, my friends and I felt no need to leave the resort for the rest of our stay.
I know the rating should just be on our stay, but the reason I rated Modala less than excellent was because my pre-trip preparations were less than ideal. We needed information on airport transfers and tours in advance of our stay, and communications were an ordeal. So much follow-up was needed, with multiple communications repeating the same questions trying to get responses, and I used phone calls, e-mails, and texts. Phone calls were best, if only you could get someone to answer the phone, as e-mails and texts were mostly ignored. Responses tended to be incomplete, but at least on a phone call you can keep āclarifyingā your question. In the end, some questions were left till we arrived at the resort, and could speak to them face to face.
We stayed at Henann Tawala Hotel for a week upon arriving in Bohol, and it was a fantastic experience. The hotel is spotlessly clean, living up to its 4-star rating. Upon arrival, the staff were very attentiveāour bags were handled, and we were offered breakfast while our early check-in was expedited.
One thing to be aware of is the 3,000 pesos per night damage deposit. If paid by credit card, any charges, such as room service or drinks at the swim-up bar, are deducted from it, with the balance refunded after checkout.
The breakfast area is beautifully presented, with friendly staff who greet you warmly. After giving your room number and surname, youāre escorted to a table. However, we noticed some inconsistency in serviceāon some days we were offered coffee or tea, while on others we werenāt. There were also times when water wasnāt provided, so we ended up with double servings after fetching it ourselves. Consistency in service would enhance the experience, but the self-service station for coffee, water, and juices was convenient.
Breakfast options were excellent, with plenty of variety to suit all preferences. Everything was well-prepared and delicious. One small issue was being asked to leave a yogurt behind when I tried to take it out of the breakfast area. I understand the rule to prevent excessive takeaway, but I felt a little flexibility could be applied for small items.
The rooms at Henann Tawala are impressiveāspacious with great bathrooms and lovely balconies. Among the best weāve stayed in, theyāre comparable to high-end hotels like Radisson Blu in Cebu or Seda Ayala Central Block.
The reception staff were incredibly helpful. They arranged a reasonably priced van for our trip to Tagbilaran, and the driver was punctual, providing a comfortable ride. He even dropped us off at the right spot for catching a van to Anda at the Dao Bus Terminal.
One nice perk of staying here is the short walk to Henann's beachfront property, where you can use the sun loungers shaded by palm trees and enjoy drinks served by the staff. However, you canāt use the pool there, and you need to pick up towels from Henann Tawala before heading to the beach. The beach is beautiful, but there are quite a few hawkers selling tours, which can be a bit of a nuisance. We found better deals on Facebook. The sea is warm, though thereās a fair amount of seaweed. Iād recommend snorkeling to watch your step, as there are starfish and possibly sea urchins. We only swam once. If you buy mangosteen from beach vendors (150-200 pesos), check for ants, as one of our bags was full of them!
Just outside the hotelās main gates, thereās an ATM and a laundry shop that charges around 400 pesos for 5 kg, returning clothes washed, dried, and folded by 5 pm. Itās much cheaper than the hotelās laundry service. We also tried the Kajun Restaurant nearby, which offers excellent chicken sandwiches, fries, and milkshakes in an American diner style.
On the beachfront, our favorite restaurant was the Oasis Resortās upstairs bar and restaurant, which has a cooling breeze and a great view of the beach. Every dish we tried was fantastic, and we highly recommend it.
While our stay at Henann Tawala was wonderful, Panglao itself felt quite touristy. There were many Korean tourists, and a lot of locals trying to sell tours and services, which sometimes felt overwhelming. Prices were higher than we expected, especially for things like tricycles, which cost 150 pesos per person compared to the 12 pesos we paid in the provinces. Restaurant prices were also inflated, and even basic supplies came at a premium.
If you prefer a quieter, more authentic experience, Iād recommend visiting somewhere like Anda. It has a more laid-back, provincial vibe, with friendlier locals and a slower pace of life, making it a peaceful alternative to the busy, touristy atmosphere of Panglao.
The place is fantastic, located right beside Alona Beach with a small road leading directly to the beach. The hotel's food is very nice, and the two swimming pools are great for families.
The studio room can accommodate a family of four, and there are many complimentary activities such as kayaking, paddling, and archery. Highly recommended for families.
However, there is no lift to the third level, which is not friendly for the elderly.
We had a wonderful time at Solea! The staff were incredibly helpful and welcoming. Upon arrival, we were greeted with complimentary welcome drinks for two, and the breakfast buffet was absolutely superb! I really felt like I got great value for my money, both of my kids enjoyed the breakfast buffet for free (I believe kids under 7 eat free).
Although it's a bit of a drive from Alona, weāre from Bohol and had our own car, so getting there was a breeze. For those without a vehicle, Solea offers a free shuttle service. They even provide a handy voucher with the pick-up and drop-off schedule. Highly recommended for families looking for a relaxing and convenient getaway!

ŠŠŠ°ŃŠ°Š»ŃŃ ŠŃŠ¾Š½ŃŠµŠ²Š°Our stay at E L Westensee Resort exceeded all our expectations! This place is ideal for those who are looking for a combination of coziness, comfort and excellent service.
Our villa was simply magnificent: spacious, stylish and very cozy. Snow-white bed linen and impeccable cleanliness created a feeling of real luxury.
The hotel staff are real professionals! Very responsive, sincere and always ready to help. When we decided to rent a bike, it was delivered right to the hotel - new, powerful, for only 500 pesos per day. It was incredibly convenient for trips to Alon Beach (only 7 km) and to local attractions.
I would like to separately note the breakfasts. The food was delicious, fresh and prepared with love. A real pleasure to start the day with such dishes!
We were pleased with the proximity to the street with cafes and restaurants - literally a few minutes walk. This allowed us to try many local dishes and not depend on transport.
Special thanks for organizing an early breakfast before our departure - everything was ready at 5:30, and the transfer to the airport was waiting for us on time.
E L Westensee Resort is a place where you want to come back! The warm atmosphere, perfect cleanliness and caring approach to each guest made our vacation simply unforgettable!
KKentChanThe hotel is in a very convenient location and the service is good. The hotel has a generator, which is very important. The bath water is salty, there is no way, the island is relatively primitive and there is no fresh water purification plant. The food in the hotel is also OK, and it is more convenient to pay directly.
SSHIMINThe service is very good, praise the patience of the front desk manager, the breakfast is very good, American breakfast, a variety of choices, ready to cook. The front desk can call a special car, which is more convenient. There is also a restaurant downstairs, which is cheap and delicious. Many locals and students go there. You can add meals for free and you can eat all you need. Stayed here for two days and felt very comfortable. That is, some rooms are not sufficiently ventilated.
The location is good, 20 minutes walk to the city.
GGuest UserThe staff is really polite and helped me with everything that I needed. They even allowed me to use their kitchen microwave. The room is very clean and comfortable. The free breakfast is not a buffet though but it is enough to feed a person. They have lovely dogs which are very gentle and trained. The dogs are also very cute.
ēēStayed for 3 days and was a bit far from Alona Beach, but fortunately there was a free shuttle bus at the hotel. The interior of the hotel is beautiful, the facilities are very new, and the complimentary breakfast is not bad. But the hotel is surrounded by villages, dirty and messy, the road to the hotel turned out to be a dirt road, the tap water and the water in the pool are all unpurified sea water, a bit salty, the whole of the island of Bohol. With a 12-year-old child, there is no extra bed, and 800p per night, which is a bit expensive. Since I go out to play every day, the overall situation is not bad, the environment there is the same. The level of consumption is comparable to that of first-tier cities in China.
