The room was exquisite.
We loved the terrace. The seats were very comfortable and we had a great view.
Cherry on top we could see a fantastic show at night.
We could also enjoy the sight of the dragon boat at night.
Bare in mind that there is no pickup from the train station. But you can take the subway and they'll come and pick you up. If your party counts 4 members, I recommend taking a cab or a didi (just like the hotel recommended us).
That said, we were given free rides to visit the city.
They can also arrange a car for you to visit other sites (paying service).
We had huge and high quality towels as well as disposable hand towels.
The toilet was a washlet like the ones we have in Japan.
The hotel was very clean. Unfortunately, they were some remodeling going on on the first floor when we stayed there and the smell of the solvent was unpleasant.
They did not have enough sitting to accommodate proper sitting for everyone but we took our breakfast up to our private terrace and enjoyed it very much.
The breakfast is a set breakfast. We could choose between 2 types of Chinese breakfast.
I can't say that I loved the breakfast but it was nice.
You can arrange it with many sauces, condiments and plenty of fresh chives and cilantro.
You can even ask for seconds.
The butler was very kind and helpful, as well as the rest of the staff as a matter of fact.
They also have a washing machine that you can use for free but you have to take care of the drying yourself.
My family and I got sick from a previous food intoxication and we were happy that we stayed in such a nice hotel.
Fenghuang old city is very festive so it can get noisy at night but the terrace's windows are of very good quality, therefore it did not bother us much. It is possible that you can hear your neighbors though.
All in all, despite being sick we had a wonderful experience at this hotel. We were happily surprised to receive a farewell gift.
We definitely recommend the place and we go back to this hotel without hesitation.

TThuy MobbsThe hotel far exceeded our expectation with making everything at ease from the moment we arrived at the train station in FurongZhen ( free pick up), then welcomed us with a bowl of fresh fruits, kindly upgraded a better room with amazing mountain view! The staff are extremely helpful, using Chinese-English translation efficiently to show us what places to see around the town. Breakfast is basic ( only Chinese style): boiled eggs, fried eggs, dumplings, baobuns and coffee(no tea) and some fruits(small plums). The room is spacious with clean and comfortable beds. The hotel is only some minute walk to the waterfall and the square. Overall, we had a pleasant stay and good value for money! We would stay again if we come back this town.Thank you for insect repellant gifts!

SShane CanadianGood location if you want to be near the ancient town, but in a quiet spot. The main bus stop is right outside the hotel and the ancient town is about a two minute walk. Room is large and modern and bed is comfortable. You won't have much of a view on the backside of the hotel, and the front is likely to be a bit noisy with the bus stop during the day and the Aunties dancing in the square in the evening. It was nice that they gave a parting gift of local delicacies when we checked out.
A few improvements needed:
1. Hooks, or hanging racks, for towels at the shower and the sink. There is no way to dry a towel after a shower.
2. Wash cloth. For a nice hotel, a wash cloth (or face cloth) should be provided. They are not expensive.
3. The water in the shower will be affected by the toilet flushing and the sink faucet. It will get very hot. Quite a surprise given that this is a new hotel.
4. Car service, especially to the train station. We asked the front desk to call us a taxi. Their response was to walk us to the main road, which is likely 300 to 400 metres. Not ideal with two suitcases and several bags of merchandise. It also took some time to get a taxi, which made us start to worry that we might not arrive in time for our train. Note that when you arrive at the drop off are for the train station, it is quite a long walk across a square to the station itself. Be sure to leave an extra 5 minutes for this.
5. Communication. When communicating with the hotel prior to arrival, we asked for a room on the top floor, which is the 5th floor. We were assured this would be arranged. However, on arriving at the hotel, we were initially assigned a room on the 4th floor. We mentioned the earlier conversation and were initially told there were no rooms available on the 5th floor. It wasn't until another attendant arrived, and seemed to check a chat history on the computer, that we were given a room on the 5th floor.
6. Sound insulation. While the room is quiet, the noise from the hallway can be easily heard due to poor insulation around the doors.
All in all a good stay but some improvements needed.

GGuest UserGreat location, close to the iconic Snow bridge 雪桥, where the hustle and bustle is. There's alot of bar/karaoke downstairs, but the volume lower down by midnight.
Owners were very prompt with replying via WeChat, with any questions or map, helped us with booking the ticket combo of 8 sight seeing spots and boat ride, cheaper than the counter.
Took a cab from the railway station (for 25yuan) to the designated parking spot, and the owner came to pick us, helped us with our luggage to go through the ancient town.
Overall very good stay and we had a memorable time here in Fenghuang.

GGuest UserI had an extra day to spend in my China trip and decided to take a chance and visit Phoenix ancient town for a day. I heard it was better at night so I decided to spend the night and booked the top floor of this stay for the view, and it did not disappoint - it was wonderful! A direct view to the center tower and bridge in town! Service was helpful and gave me a map of the area and showed me where to walk - also helped me to arrange a taxi for the morning. Be prepared there are some steps leading up to the lobby. And, Phoenix ancient town is very small so DiDi may not work there. If coming from afar, get a taxi directly from the train station.

KKaitlyn555I really enjoyed staying here. Affordable price, great location and friendly, helpful service. The staff picked me up from the train station - he was waiting for me and communicates via wechat, he will help you buy your entry ticket to the scenic area on the way to the inn, he carried my 25kg suitcase up some stairs and wheeled it to my room. Room is as pictured / advertised but bonus that it has a western toilet too - very happy. The view is wonderful, feels like youre in the country village but less than 15min walk to the waterfall scenic area.
I arrived at 12.30pm and explore Furong for about 4hrs including lunch and watched x3 10min performances then went back to the inn for shower and rest. Went out again around 7pm for quick dinner and x2 night shows. The 9pm show in the theatre is really good. Make sure you carry your paper ticket at all times as theres many checkpoints - staff scan qr code on ticket. You can enter/exit as many times as you like within 3 days.
Do stay at a local homestay type place to support the residents here. Its a great experience and a nice change from hotels. Honest! Its also a great way to immerse yourself with the people when travelling through China.

GGuest UserDuring our trip to Changsha, we managed to squeeze in a quick visit to Fenghuang Ancient Town. We arrived by high-speed train at noon on the first day and returned to Changsha the following morning. Our one-night stay at the Zuixiangxi Hotel was absolutely wonderful. First off, the hotel service was excellent; seeing that we had two children, they proactively upgraded our room, which turned out to be very spacious. Secondly, the hotel's location is superb. It's less than a 10-minute walk to the Tuojiang River, and right outside the hotel is the ancient town's pedestrian street, making it incredibly convenient for strolling around and exploring. The hotel's breakfast was also quite good. Fenghuang Ancient Town itself boasts numerous spots for memorable photos and dining options, and its night views are absolutely stunning. It's definitely worth a visit! P.S. That Cui Tea wasn't as good as Cha Yan Yue Se.

The hotel environment possesses a naturally serene aesthetic. Sunlight streamed through the floor-to-ceiling windows, complementing the greenery in every corner, and the air carried a subtle, earthy fragrance. The corridors were laid with thick carpets, muffling footsteps, and adorned with elegant ink paintings. Soft, warm lighting cast a gentle glow, making walks through them exceptionally soothing.
Our guest room was clean and cozy. Stepping onto the balcony opened onto the viewing platform – wooden railings framed a lush bamboo grove. Tall, straight bamboo stalks with densely layered leaves swayed and rustled gently in the breeze. Standing there, surrounded by such vibrant greenery, even the air felt crisper. In the evening, the setting sun cast golden patches through the gaps in the leaves, with the shifting light and shadow creating the illusion of a secluded haven. On the fifth floor, there's another viewing platform offering panoramic vistas of Furong Town. Guests can also enjoy complimentary karaoke, singing while admiring the views and dining – we were absolutely thrilled with this experience!
The service was a significant highlight. At check-in, the front desk readily shared tips on the best viewing times for the platforms. The cleaning staff were quiet and respectful while tidying and even discreetly swept fallen leaves from the balcony. When we wanted to sit on the viewing platform, staff promptly brought rattan cushions – every detail reflected their thoughtful consideration.
Overall, this place seamlessly blends natural tranquility with warm, attentive service, ensuring a supremely comfortable stay. We'll definitely be back here on our next trip. This stay stands out as one of the most satisfying travel experiences I've had, even compared to numerous famous attractions I've visited!

XXiaoyu？xiaoyu！It is strongly recommended that if it is a birdcage room, it is better for one person!
If you want normal comfort! You must have enough money to get a big room!
The whole hotel is distributed in the ”Shenfeng Scenic Area”, with small bird cages and big houses in a unique shape! Very interesting! It's just that some of the infrastructure in the birdcage room will be very poor, but the big room (expensive) is much better. In addition, it takes a lot of physical strength to enter and exit the hotel (except for the elevator at the beginning).
You can visit the Shenfeng Scenic Area in your spare time, and there is also a light show at night in the Shenfeng Temple Square not far away (high), and there are performances when the weather is good!
It is worth mentioning that the ”breakfast”! I read other people's comments that the breakfast is very bad. But my experience is really good.
”Steamed” eggs are definitely better than outside.
Steamed dumplings are also very delicious!
Cabbage is just as good! There is no feeling of being particularly bad.
The most surprising and interesting thing is the cartoons on the connecting corridors between the various guest rooms in the hotel. There is also a twelve zodiac trail! (There is no way at the end, so you need to go back)
Oh, by the way! There are real peacocks in the high-rise area of the scenic area (higher than the Shenfeng Temple Square)! Alive!
There is also a large area of ”pompom flowers” in an area called ”Flying Bird Camp”.
The entire scenic area can be visited in 2 hours (my hiking ability)! And it was in the rain! There was no one! I felt like I had entered the ”fairyland” because there was really no one except me. Oh! Be careful of snakes, I didn't encounter any (fortunately)! I didn't go to the Nanhua Temple at the highest point, and it was definitely not because I was too tired to climb up, but because there was a locked door and no one opened it.

WWilliam LaliberteThe hotel is in need of renovation. The bathroom showed a lot of wear and tear, dirty shower, broken toilet seat, and there were visible patches on the ceiling where paint was missing. Most of the power outlets didn’t work, and the TV screen was damaged.
Breakfast was technically included, but the options were extremely poor — just plain noodles, a steamed bun, and hard-boiled eggs. To make matters worse, I even saw a big rat in the kitchen, which says everything about the hygiene standards.
For the steep price of 1000 RMB per night, this was by far the worst hotel I’ve ever stayed in. Honestly, the experience wasn’t worth more than 200 RMB per night.
It felt like a complete tourist trap. If you’re visiting Furong, I strongly recommend not staying overnight. Hotels here are overpriced and not worth it. Instead, enjoy a drink, take in the scenery, and then find accommodation elsewhere. Been there, done that — never coming back.
