"This is a castle hotel with a history of 800 years. The hotel service is warm and thoughtful, the sanitary conditions are good, the breakfast is rich and delicious. What's more worth mentioning is the environment of the hotel. In addition to the beautiful castle, the surrounding natural environment is even more pleasant."
Stay at Premier Inn Hotel Wigan (M6, J27) and you'll be in the perfect location to get to Wigan town centre. So whether you're here on business or just getting away for a well-earned break, we're a handy place to stay. The picturesque North West countryside is on your doorstep too. Spend the morning strolling the streets of Liverpool, perhaps visiting the historic Albert Dock. Or take a walk through the majestic grounds of Haigh Hall Country Park. In the afternoon you could catch some sport, either rugby or football at Wigan stadium, or try your hand at go-karting at Three Sisters. Then come back for some great food and a lovely comfy bed.
"The rooms were lovely and clean and can tell its recently been renovated. The hotel is lovely. Lily on reception last night was lovely and ever so helpful, couldn't have helped us more. Would highly recommend and stay again. Shame about the hotel not having a pool and photos displayed of it though."
"The hotel and entrance are great, no complaints there. I’ve been a regular at another hotel within 5 miles of here, where the facilities are immaculate and the rooms are always meticulously clean. So I had high expectations.
On walking into my room (250), it was freezing. I immediately turned on the electric radiator, but was woken up at 2am by the thermostat flicking on and off repeatedly. The digital screen kept lighting up and going off it felt like there was a rave in my room. Highly annoying and not conducive to a good night’s sleep.
Before bed, I went for a shower and splashed foamy suds around as you do. After finishing, I was washing down the inside of the shower cubicle and noticed what I thought were leftover soap suds near the door handle. I went to wipe them off and I can tell you now, they were not soap suds.
Absolutely disgusting. The previous occupant clearly lacked basic hygiene, and although it shouldn’t be expected, the cleaners really need to have a keener eye for detail. This sort of thing should never be missed.
Photos attached for reference."
"Lovely clean hotel, stayed for one night, the member of staff who checked me in was lovely, even though had issues with trip.com.
Would recommend and stay again"

"Upon arriving late at night at the Wigan Holiday Inn Express, we were greeted with the warmest welcome and exceptional assistance from the reception staff. I requested that my friend’s family room be arranged near ours, and the request was graciously accommodated.
Aaron, in particular, went above and beyond—he not only helped me locate the nearest EV charging station (he also helped to try the Hotel Tesla EV Charging point, unfortunately, not compatible) but also took the initiative to find a dinner spot for us. To my surprise, he later knocked on our door with a handwritten note detailing the directions to both. His thoughtful gesture made us feel genuinely cared for and turned our stay into an unforgettable experience.
Thanks to Aaron!"
"Stayed here for the one night with my daughter and her 2 friends in a family room, although quite 80’s dated the room was clean, would have liked a complimentary biscuit on the room tea and coffee tray.
The girls enjoyed the pool area and i enjoyed the bubbles of the jacuzzi.
The food at breakfast was lovely and plentiful with a whole variety to suit all dietary requirements.
The asset of the hotel is the staff… both receptionists, the lady waiting on in the breakfast dining room and the gentleman in the health club were all so friendly and couldn’t do enough for us. Thank you 😁 we will be back as the price paid was great value for the 4 of us."
