"1. The front desk service of the hotel is warm and thoughtful, and all the problems raised are solved attentively. Although the hotel is a little far from the airport, hotel pick-up and drop-off is very convenient. The surrounding area near the Arc de Triomphe is full of Southeast Asian style. The overall environment is warm and quiet, and the rooms are clean and tidy. Will choose next time."
"15-20 minutes walk from the bus terminal
The hotel seemed quite old.
However, amenities were provided and the beds and towels were clean.
There was a convenience store nearby, and the food stalls and night market were within walking distance.
The fruit shop on the same street was great."

"Moved from continental plaza to Ji hotel for our last night in Vientiane. The hotel is especially for Chinese tourist… it’s good and not good… based in old Chinatown, the hotel is on the 6st floor of a building. Inside it’s very nice, quite new, and service was nice. Then come the morning and the included breakfast… only Chinese food combination… not really choices… no coffee, no orange juice or else, only a cup of milk… some porridges and Chinese rice rolls or buns and eggs, these kind of combination… not attractive at all… to eat the breakfast you have to go to 1st floor and walk outside to a partnered restaurant who will serve you a choice of 5 Chinese combinations food. Workers of the hotel are nice but don’t speak English only Chinese… have a rooftop swimming pool and a gym but exposed to sunshine so it was too hot to swim or to gym 🤭."
"Clean and spacious rooms
Parking facility was at back of hotel - staff very helpful
Check in was seamless and easy - was a hot day and we were given a lovely cold tea
The White Elephant restaurant - food, drinks and staff were grean
The Tipsy Elephant staff were great as were our cocktails
The breakfast has a good range of food - hot coffee and nice selection of teas and juices. Staff were attentive
A good choice in the middle of everything"
"We had a very pleasant stay, all the staff were very helpful and friendly. The meals we had at the hotel were excellent. Also the location is great, close to the Mekong River (safe to walk or run along the river) and the Night Market."
"The hotel room is big and clean it is comfortable, with big swimming pools 👍 especially I love the welcoming fruit it’s nice and fresh, the hotel breakfast is very good, and the staff is very nice and friendly,

"Services are excellent. Nice traditional architecture with good amenities. Staff were all friendly. We had to catch a train in early morning after the second night and requested a box of sandwiches to go. Staff happily packed two boxes. It is a place that we would stay again when we have a chance to visit Vientiane next time."
"The environment is great. It's a pleasure to stay in the hotel without going out. The service is very good. The rooms are large and fully equipped. It's a great hotel in Vientiane and worth recommending."

9.1/10
SserselCleanliness: Generally very clean room. Not sure when it’s opened but looks like everything is new and nice.
Room size: Quite a bit space including a desk.
Staff: Super friendly and helpful.
Food: Hotel restaurant has great food with cheaper prices. Initially I didn’t book breakfast but their $5 breakfast was definitely worth the money.
There are not many options around.
Amenities: There’s a nice pool although I didn’t have time to use. Would be great in hot days.
Can also ride a bike for $2 per day.
Location: It’s out of the city in a quiet area. It wasn’t a problem for me as I was looking for a quiet place for good sleep, but the location might be problem if you want to be in the city center with many restaurant options.
They have free shuttle bus twice a day at 6 & 7 pm. Alternatively can bike under 10 mins. Haven’t tried but I’m sure they’ll be happy to help if taxi or tuktuk is requested.
Overall: Considering the price, it was a great stay for me.
GGuest UserI arrived Vientiane by train. There were two buses picking up passengers opposite the front of the station. One was a minibus going to the night market (30k kips) and the other was a public bus going to Vientiane Central Bus Station (25k kips). The minbus going to the night market was full so I took the one going to the Central Bus Station. On checking Google maps, the one going to the night market is the correct transportation to take.
It was close to 9pm when I arrived at the bus station. Note that the reception closes at 10pm. I took a tuk tuk at 50k kips (bargained from 100 kips). The fare was 30k kips when I took a car from the hostel back to the Bus Station to catch Bus 12 to Vientiane (Khamsavath) train station. Do note that this is a different train station from the station I'd arrived from. That station is used by the Laos-China train, while Khamsavath station is used by the Laos-Thai train.
The above described the location of the hostel in relation to the train stations and Central Bus Station.
As for the 3rd floor room (was it 2nd?? well, it was at the highest floor) that I was assigned, there is space enough for 6 beds (3 double deckers). My beddings were spotlessly clean. The aircon worked perfectly. The staff who had checked me in helped with my luggage, which was much appreciated. He pointed out to me the facilities too.
The bathroom cubicles and toilets are on the ground floor. They are clean. The bathroom cubicle i had used were without showergel/soap or shampoo. I did not check the other cubicles.
The common area is behind the reception on the groundfloor. It is air-conditioned and has comfortable seats. There is a water dispenser which dispenses cold water. Again, much appreciated.
In a folder on a desk opposite the reception desk contains information on transportation, fares and public bus schedules. Most useful!
The owner (i assumed he is) had kindly helped me call a car to the central station. He went out in the heat to look out for the car and bode me farewell. It is personal touches like this that warms the heart.
Yes, it is a hostel I would recommend. The 2 attached pictures were information displayed on the walls of the common area which i found useful.
GGerasimburgI recently stayed at Vientiane BB Hostel and was very pleased with my experience. This is an ideal option for travelers looking for an affordable yet cozy and comfortable hostel in the heart of Laos' capital.
Upon arrival, I was pleasantly surprised by the friendly staff. I was greeted with a smile at the reception, quickly checked in, and shown all the necessary facilities. The staff speaks English, which is very convenient for international guests, and they are always ready to help with any questions, whether it’s advice on tours or assistance with transportation.
I stayed in a Deluxe room by myself, and I can say it was an excellent choice. The room was clean, spacious, and very cozy. The bed was comfortable, with fresh linens. The room had air conditioning, which is essential in a hot climate, and a small but convenient bathroom.
The hostel's breakfasts were also a highlight. Each day, you can choose between an omelet, fried eggs, and two toasts. Everything is served fresh and hot, making it a great way to start the day. Additionally, coffee and tea are available for free at any time of the day, which adds an extra level of comfort for guests.
The hostel also has a great common area where you can relax, use the stable Wi-Fi, or chat with other guests. The atmosphere is calm and friendly, creating a sense of warmth and hospitality.
Another major advantage is the hostel's location. It’s in the city center, within walking distance of Vientiane's main attractions, such as Patuxai and the Mekong River promenade. This made it easy for me to explore the city and its surroundings without needing transportation.
Overall, Vientiane BB Hostel offers an excellent combination of price and quality. This place is perfect for those looking for comfortable accommodation with great amenities at an affordable price. I definitely recommend this hostel to anyone who values comfort and coziness while traveling.

Eeddy yeoNice place to stay in, very convenient with plenty of varieties of food within walking distance. Night market is just across the road too. Hotel staffs are friendly and helpful. Breakfast choices are good enough for this hotel.

AAttapongThe hotel is conveniently located near a large shopping mall and shopping areas, as well as close to the bus station. However, it is quite a distance from the riverside.
Service is efficient and convenient, with amenities imported from China. The majority of guests are Chinese, which adds to the hotel's cultural atmosphere.
The hotel is a tall building, offering beautiful views of the surroundings. Overall, the pricing is reasonable for the value offered.
KKurzaWe had many difficulties at this hotel.
What was good: the rooms were clean, despite many negative comments regarding cleanliness. We had all necessary things in the bathroom, hot water, etc. The aircon in the room worked fine and the beds were comfortable to sleep on.
Breakfast is quite average and not much food for Western people. There are some things to eat such as fruits, yogurt, cereal, eggs but everything else are Asian food.
What was bad:
- Check-in was an absolute mess. The reception area looks like a ghost town with only one person checking in guests on a Saturday. We waited very long to be helped.
Finally, after long waiting time we reach the room to see that someone else already occupies the room. Due to a severe lack of English from the receptionist, we explained there is someone staying in the room and that we need a different room. He nodded that he understood and typed on his computer, scan a new room key but gave the same room number three times. So three times we had to explain that we need a COMPLETE DIFFERENT ROOM since there are already guests inside. This took very long. We got a new room finally but it was a twin room and not the type of room we booked.
- No sound proof walls, we can hear our neighbor coughing in his room at night
- The gym is not functional at all. So many broken machines that we were not able to use the gym during our stay. There is also no air conditioner in the gym even for when it’s maintained better.
- The elevator buttons are not working properly, the button to close the elevator door doesn’t work at all.
Generally this hotel has the potential to be much better. Management seriously needs to improve these shortcomings.
LLang-hsien TsaoThe boss is very nice and easy to communicate with. The location is a bit far from the city center, but it is very convenient to take a bus. You can go to the city for massage and meals. The buffet nearby is also quite good.
GGuest UserGenerally speaking, it's ok. Any problems can be corrected in time. But on the first day of check-in, I asked the front desk guy to simply clean the room, but he didn't give me water or take out the garbage. Later, I asked their waiter to go in the next day, and he was so sick that he vomited. The garbage was sour. Don't ask for too much. Hotels are basically like this. Is the food ok?
II am CI recently had the pleasure of staying at the Mali Namphu Hotel in Vientiane, Laos, and I can confidently say it exceeded my expectations for a 3-star accommodation! The location is perfect, situated within walking distance of the vibrant night market, the serene Namphu Park, Parkson Mall, and a variety of restaurants and nightlife options. It made exploring the city incredibly convenient!
Our room was basic yet comfortable, accommodating myself, my friend and my toddler quite well. While there wasn’t a microwave, the small refrigerator was a great addition, and we appreciated having snacks available for purchase. It was a simple setup, but it served our needs nicely.
One of the highlights of our stay was the breakfast at the on-site Rainbow Restaurant. The freshly cooked eggs, diverse sides, and delicious fresh fruit made for a wonderful start to our mornings. It was a lovely way to fuel up before a day of exploring.
We also enjoyed the small pool, perfect for a quick dip after a day in the city. The hotel staff truly made our experience memorable; they were incredibly friendly, attentive, and many spoke fluent English, which made communication a breeze.
The courtyard area was a delightful retreat, filled with lush greenery and comfortable seating. It provided a tranquil space to relax and unwind, offering shade and a pleasant ambiance.
Overall, Mali Namphu Hotel is a fantastic choice for anyone looking for a comfortable and convenient stay in Vientiane. I highly recommend it for families and travelers alike
