Overall, it was a good stay, but there are a few drawbacks to consider:
1. They didn't inform me before check-in that I needed to purchase a membership card to extend my stay for a second night. Otherwise, I'd have to check out and then check in again. While it wasn't a lot of money, it left a bad impression.
2. The check-in time was a bit odd.

Guest UserThe location is convenient, and the decor has an industrial style. They offered a complimentary tea jelly upon check-in, but the room layout is a bit small. If you book for three people, the system only calculates the cost for two; the extra person will be charged at the front desk.

Anonymous UserThe corner room was a bit small. With a double bed, it's fine for one person.
The bed faces directly into the bathroom, so be careful with the water pressure/direction when showering, or the whole floor will get wet.
The air conditioning is central, so be aware if you have specific preferences.
The room has three sets of lights: main space, bathroom, and a night light.
There's a free laundry room on the top floor, with paid dryers. The washing machine automatically adjusts based on the laundry type/requirements.
The bed was really comfortable, I slept great, but the pillows were a bit too soft.
The location is super convenient. It's across from Miyahara Eye Clinic and a 5-6 minute walk to the train station. The street behind the hotel is lively at night with hot pot restaurants.
The staff were friendly.

This could easily be the best backpack rooms I have ever stayed in. Bed is comfy with adequate personal space. There is a desk at the end of the bed, I could write my journal in my own space. There even is a huge wardrobe for u to put ur luggage and clothes. Toilet in the room is clean and photogenic. Breakfast is small but with enough varieties. Staff is very nice. Location is perfect. Recommend 100/100

The location is excellent, right opposite Taichung Station. There's a supermarket, convenience store, and restaurants next door. The price is also reasonable.
What I didn't like was their very strict check-in and check-out times – check-out at 11 AM and check-in at 3 PM. They charge you for exceeding these times. However, one morning, they started cleaning the hallway at 9 AM, and the noise of the machines woke me up, even though it wasn't even housekeeping time yet. Also, on my first day, my room was already clean, but they wouldn't let me check in early. This feels like a double standard.

Guest UserFacilities: The room wasn't huge, but it had everything I needed. The bathroom was very spacious with both a shower and a bathtub 🛁, which was great.
Service: Excellent! Every staff member was wonderful, especially Rich, who was incredibly attentive and made me feel very well looked after.
Cleanliness: Good.
Environment: The breakfast selection wasn't extensive, but it was decent, and they had my favorite, salad.

享受人生的喜悦Stylish design hotel in Taichung's old town. Clean rooms, comfy beds, and amazing staff. 10-min walk from train station. Close to Miyahara and Second Market. Rooms are small and soundproofing is just okay, but great value for money. Free afternoon snacks! Perfect for solo or couple travelers or family too . ⭐⭐⭐⭐

I booked a double standard room with a bathtub. The bathroom fixtures were high-quality TOTO and VOV. For a solo traveler, the space was perfectly adequate. The room and overall decor had a tasteful, elegant Japanese aesthetic. The minor dust on the windowsill was negligible. The hotel entrance is understated, but after checking in, you absolutely must visit the lobby. Take a seat, relax, and enjoy a cup of their complimentary self-serve brewed coffee – the aroma and taste are perfectly balanced, on par with a five-star hotel.

I recently spent two nights at The Metro Hotel (豪爵大飯店台中館) in Taichung, and overall, it was a very practical, comfortable, and well-situated experience. Located right on Wuquan Road in the West District, this 3.5-star property strikes an excellent balance between affordability and convenience. If you are looking for a reliable base to explore the city, here is a detailed breakdown of my stay.
The room was spacious, exceptionally clean, and featured a nice view of the surrounding city. The bed was on the firmer side but very supportive, providing a great night's sleep after long days of walking. A major highlight for me was the climate control. I absolutely need a cool sleeping environment and always set the thermostat to 21°C; thankfully, the room’s air conditioning was powerful and maintained that crisp, chilly temperature perfectly throughout both nights.
There are two minor caveats to the room:
• Electrical Outlets: There are very few power outlets available. If you have multiple devices to charge (phone, laptop, power banks), I highly recommend bringing a small travel extension cord.
• Soundproofing: While the room itself was peaceful, the door soundproofing is a bit lacking. You can occasionally hear other guests in the hallway or neighboring doors closing.
The hotel provides all the essential basics without overcomplicating things. The bathroom was roomy with great water pressure and came stocked with standard toiletries. A huge plus for travelers is the self-service laundry room located on the 5th floor.
The front desk staff were consistently friendly, welcoming, and helpful with luggage storage. It is worth noting that they strictly enforce their 4:00 PM check-in time—you generally cannot get into your room a minute earlier—but they do offer a generous 12:00 PM check-out, allowing for a relaxed morning.

SzeJan22The only good thing about this hotel is the location . It is just walking distance from the Taichung station. Other than that, everything else is ok. The room is quite small , so if you have a large luggage, please be mindful about that. We got free breakfast included with our hotel, have to pre-order at the lobby the day before.
