"This is my first time traveling alone...and I could not have chosen a better place! I went all out and booked a Sea Front Pool Villa...and it was so worth it. Most beautiful view. Absolute relaxing vibe. Friendly staff. Great breakfast. I literally stayed there (my room with a pool/restaurant/pool for all guests) for three nights. It was just too great to leave. A wonderful start to my solo travels. Wow! Just wow! I hope I can come here again in the future."

"Celes Samui is a great hotel in a lovely, quiet, and relaxing spot — just a 10-minute walk from Fisherman’s Village. The rooms were nice, clean, and comfortable, and the location is fantastic. The restaurant food was delicious and breakfasts were very good.
The beds are quite firm, which may not suit everyone, though the bedding itself was very good.
The staff experience was mixed. Some were absolutely wonderful — especially the girl with the short dark hair at reception, who was friendly and helpful every day, along with the restaurant staff and the guys on the front gate. However, others weren’t as friendly, and at times even came across as aggressive. Check-in and check-out weren’t overly welcoming, and one housekeeper was very abrupt when I asked for extra towels and refused to leave until I gave her two towels which I didn’t actually have!
The beach is beautiful to look at, but after about a metre in, the bottom is slimy, which made swimming less enjoyable. Because of this, we left for a few days to enjoy Lamai, which has a much more breathtaking beach. It’s a short cab ride away.
All in all, I would still recommend Celes Samui — it’s a beautiful and peaceful place to stay with clean rooms and excellent food. But I didn’t find the staff friendliness as consistent as other reviewers have described, which was a bit disappointing."

"Nice and clean, comfy bungalows with modern styling bathroom with bathtub, sink and toilet with peekaboo windows from room, and outdoor shower with rack for hanging wet towels and swimming wear. Nice terrace with table and chairs to sit outside and enjoy fresh morning air, and lovely evenings. The staff is very friendly and the ladies in the restaurant were very gracious. The 3 tiered pools were lovely with gorgeous view. The middle one needed some cleaning of leaves that blew down from the wind. The hot water filled only half the tub, but after waiting 15min the water heater was able to fill up the rest of the tub, which was enjoyable and worth the extra effort. Good value and comfortable."

"Arrived to find that the room we booked wasn’t available as the air conditioning was broken. They made out that they had upgraded us but then took us next door to an old villa in a scruffy garden. We were only there for one night, had prepaid, and couldn’t find anywhere else so had but option but to stay. Room was ok. Had our included breakfast at a restaurant across the street. Was quite good. Went to sunbathe after breakfast. The sunbeds were soaking wet and had bird poo in them. The staff weren’t interested in cleaning and preparing the pool area for their guests.
Wouldn’t stay again, scruffy hotel."

"Excellent base a little out of the way but they provide regular transport until 630pm to Chaweng town free of charge. Staff a very friendly and helpful and happy to sort any issue
Beach across the road though a steep path down so not good if not sure of foot.
One thing I learnt is how hard beds are and I mean hard in thailand which I wasn't aware of until we came and not good if you suffer with your back but we asked for an extra mattress topper which they were more than happy to sort and did straight away and it helped a little.
Bedrooms were of a very good size cleaned daily if you wanted safe in room.
Arrive early they will check you in and store your luggage then up to you what you do. Make use of the pool. Have something to eat in the pool bar. Take the free transport to the beach / town and have a wander arranging your pick up time.
Late check out they do offer but bear in mind availability of it will depend on how booked they are for us they were fully booked but provided us access to the poolside shower room and towels for sitting by the pool and enjoying aswell as towels for our shower again storing our luggage so that wasn't with us by the pool.
Overall a very pleasant stay very much enjoyed and for our 1st time visiting thailand perfect to be that little bit out of the way"

"We had a very pleasant stay here. The location is excellent—right behind the beach and directly opposite a convenience shop, which was so handy.
The room was clean and the pool area was lovely. However, two things really need to be improved. First, there should be a rule to ban smoking at the poolside, as the smell was unpleasant for non-smokers. Second, there were a lot of mosquitoes in the area; providing repellent or doing more frequent pest control would make a big difference.
A great spot that could be perfect with a few changes!

"Great pool, clean part of the beach, close enough to walk to lots of cafes and shops. We booked as a family on one booking but were told at check-in we would have to stay in separate areas of the hotel… this was very disappointing as we had requested rooms close together. Manager wasn’t that friendly when we asked to change room to be closer together.
Most staff working at resort were friendly and it was clean and well maintained. I would definitely stay again and recommend to others."

"Unfortunately, the yoga instructor was not available, hence, we didn’t get to enjoy the yoga sessions as planned. If only the hotel is contactable and we can plan on other dates. Their reservation email is not working, then how do we get in touch with the hotel? Sent 2 emails and yet the staff said there were no emails received. How strange! The room we were checked in was hot like sauna, and we requested to change the room. The staff said it’s due to the hot weather therefore room is warmer. Rubbish! It’s the AC issue, don’t blame the weather. We were moved to another room but we still need to request for a fan in the room to circulate the cool air. It’s a nice resort but the poor maintenance is a turnoff! We still enjoyed our stay as the staff at the restaurant are very nice and friendly. Overall the resort experience is nice, just the room maintenance was very poor."

"Fast check in. Room available early. House keeping to the highest standards. Safe for children and kids club is one the was made with kids in mind first rather than an add on later. Much entertainment included, film nights with pop corn stands and buffets, neon disco, and buffet breakfast with a wide variety of international food and treats however, this list is not limited. Special requests were always met and exceeded my expectations. The location is directly on the strip of Fisherman’s Village, and close to CoCoTams where there is a fire show each night. To Chewang area, it is a 15 minute taxi/tactic ride. VIP taxi outside resort cost 500tbh (€6) for 1 adult and 1 child. Finally, the nights sleep was bliss. I wish I could have brought home the pillows."

Amazing
EEmily Rose L- Great location at the end of Lamai beach with a lovely view of both sand and beautiful boulders.
-There is a little beach bar just beside the hotel that provides spots to sit on a giant boulder, which is a great perch in the evening or for sunrise. It looks like there are paddle boards and snorkels for use at the hotel. It’s near to the Grandmother/father rocks and Lamai beach is perfect for swimming and walking.
- We loved the breakfasts, especially the delicious homemade croissants and pain au chocolate, along with fresh fruits changed daily and eggs to order. The Thai lunch options were also very good.
-Win and Naing were kind and warm and helped us with what we needed.
- The pool and frangipani tree, along with a variety of spots for lounging, including big covered round beds, created a chill atmosphere: so comfortable that were much lazier than we thought we’d be because we were so relaxed.
Tip: The rooms have only partial views and the best view is #8.
Note: Our room was a bit stuffy and the bathroom was a little dark and a little smelly, but definitely not too bad. The alley just outside the hotel is unlit and foul smelling, but a short walk away from some massage places and a few restaurants and bars.
In general, the property is well maintained but shows a bit of wear, including stained patio cushions and umbrellas and things like that, but just a touch of aesthetic upgrades are needed- it’s still a great beach resort, a very good value, and we’d be back again. Merci!

Staff: One of the standout features of the resort is its staff. They are not only efficient, ensuring everything runs smoothly, but also genuinely friendly and welcoming, always greeting guests with a smile. This level of service greatly enhances the overall stay.
Room Views: Opting for a room on the third floor is highly recommended as it offers scenic views. While the first and second floors might lack these views, the cleanliness and comfort of the rooms remain commendable. Bed and pillows were awesome!!
Pool Area: The infinity pool is a highlight, providing a luxurious and serene environment to relax, swim, or simply enjoy the sun. This well-maintained area is made even more enjoyable by the fun and friendly pool and bar staff. Cons:
Noise Levels: A significant downside to staying at Dara Samui Beach Resort, especially noted on Chaweng Beach, is the noise pollution from nearby clubs. Guests looking for a peaceful night's sleep might find the loud music, particularly the repetitive beats and booming sounds from 3:00 AM to 6:00 AM, to be a major disturbance. This could be a dealbreaker for light sleepers or those seeking a restful retreat.
Beach and Swimming Conditions: While the beach itself is beautiful and great for daytime relaxation, the water level often remains below one meter, making it impossible to swim in the ocean. VViktorLocation: you need to immediately understand that you will need transport. There are a couple of cafes within walking distance, but we didn’t go to them, there weren’t many people there either, except that a couple of times we saw a few farangs having breakfast. Report offers delivery to and from the beach during certain hours. I don’t remember the price: either free, or for a symbolic fee, very low. They also offered to order breakfast and have it delivered to your villa: it’s certainly more expensive than in a regular cafe, but still affordable. We did not use this service, since we would have to plan breakfast time in advance (why?). The beach... we stayed during the daytime low tides, so I can’t say anything good about the sea, but the beach itself is clean and almost deserted.
Surprises: we booked a villa with three bedrooms and a living room + a swimming pool. When looking at the photos of the rooms (at the time of booking), I could not understand the location of the room and also could not understand the privacy of the pool. Will the pool be ours alone or will it have to be shared with guests from some other villa. I even looked around on Google Maps, but still didn’t fully understand it. Upon arrival, I was pleasantly surprised that this very villa consists of two separate houses between which there is a swimming pool (not small, but medium in size). One house consists of two bedrooms with separate entrances and separate bathrooms, and the other house consists of a huge living room, dining room, kitchen and bedroom + 2 bathrooms. Grandiose! Another patio.
Of the minuses: not very stable wi-fi, TV is brooding. That's all. Air conditioners also do not cool as quickly as we would like, but this is the fault of the building design. A huge area of glazing which is made of single wood. If in the future we install normal aluminum structures with double-glazed windows, it will be possible to achieve a better effect from air conditioners + save on electricity and improve sound insulation. However, air conditioners do their job quite well. It was almost always quiet.
Overall everything is ok. This place is worth the money. The owner, Lana, is very friendly and speaks perfect Russian.

Gleich vorweg: Das Centara Life ist m. E. kein Urlaubshotel, eher ein Business-/Wochenendhotel … ich hatte mich auf ein CENTARA-Hotel gefreut, aber: Nicht überall wo CENTARA drauf steht ist auch CENTARA drin … es ist irgendwie ein völlig neues Hotelkonzept, Positionierung zwischen „high class“ und „normal class“ … Zimmer dicht an dicht, Balkon einer neben dem anderen, getrennt mit einer dünnen Holzwand … 4 Stockwerke hoch … damit sehr viele Zimmer, die aber sind überraschend groß, sauber und äußerst geschmackvoll eingerichtet … Ich habe ein Zimmer mit großzügigen Balkon … jetzt das ABER: die Aussicht hat nichts mit grüner Natur der Insel geschweige türkisfarbenen Wasser zu tun, ich blicke auf einen Parkplatz, einen großen Strommasten und auf die Dächer von unzähligen Häusern/Hütten … einige von denen wandeln sich abends zu lauten Sport-Bars und Kneipen um … lautes Gedröhne von nah und fern bis weit in die Nacht, nein - bis in den nächsten Morgen … abends sitze ich mit Oropax auf meinem Balkon und versuche zu lesen… trotzdem dröhnt es … im Restaurant des Hotels ist dagegen nichts los … nur gut, dass ich nicht auch noch die vom Reiseveranstalter angebotene Halbpension gebucht habe … der Swimmingpool - klein aber fein … 15 Liegen finden Platz … der tolle Strand von Lamai ist fussläufig in 10 Minuten erreicht.
Unterm Strich: das CENTARA life ist ein modernes Hotel, gehobene Ausstattung, große Zimmer und ich treffe auf ein durch und durch kompetentes Personal; die Umgebung ist sehr laut, ist schrill, lädt zu einem „Massage- und/oder Bier-Marathon“ ein - promenieren, gemütliches Laufen in der in nur ein paar Schritten entfernten Hauptstraße ist ab 19:00 nicht möglich - dicht gedrängter Verkehr inmitten lauter Musik-Bars, Souvenir-Shops und Thai-Restaurants …

AAnonymous UserЗдравствуйте ! Проживала в отеле 4 ночи , выбрала для проживания более старый номер из-за Наличия в нем ванной . Рекомендую выбирать все таки новые номера ( разницы в цене вообще почти нет), они будут располагаться ближе к морю и будут более свежие .
Из плюсов - красивая пляжная локация в конце ламаи у камней , на дне есть большие камни но они совершенно не смущают ибо ты их видишь и они далеко друг от друга расположены. На песке меньше мазута в отличии от основной части ламаи.
- в отеле много забавных котиков , я их кормила , очень была Рада с ними встретиться и провести время ))
- хорошая уборка номеров
- завтраки неплохие , много фруктов
- персонал рецепции и ресторана
Минусы - расположение все таки отдаленное , немного неудобно выезжать на кольцевую дорогу тк в этой локации всегда активный трафик . При этом 7\11 в пешей доступности есть . Все это к самому отелю не относится и данную отдаленность можно считать и как плюс , в данной части пляжа меньше проходимость
Был инцидент в номере с 2 огромными тараканами . Такое за всю историю моих многочисленных поездок в Тайланд я встретила во второй раз . И вопрос тут не к уборке точно .
Не понимаю почему на завтраках нет кофемашин как во всех отелях , официанты бедные ходят все утро с чайниками предлагая кофе которое сильно разбавлено

Pros:
1. Very clean, no signs of mold
2. Comfortable rooms equipped with very nice spacious showers, Smart TVs and kitchenettes with a hob
3. Exceptional breakfast. Variety of food, everything’s fresh. I’m allergic to gluten, and they tried to have some options for me too, including bread
4. They have an app where you can communicate with the staff and order anything you want to your room. Nice touch, quite convenient
5. The location was criticised by some other reviews but we really liked it, as it’s somewhat less touristy than Lamai beach area, but still very close to bars, restaurants and shops. You need a scooter, though.
Cons:
1. It’s not on the beach. The pictures provided are of their sister beach club, Chi Samui, that’s a few minutes away on the scooter. They provide free shuttles there, free sunbeds and discounts, but it’s still an expensive place, compared to those around. The hotel itself has a pool and sunbeds around, which were sufficient for us, but if you care about seeing the ocean from your balcony - you might get dissapointed.
2. Although rooms have fully equipped kitchens, you can’t cook there, unless you’re staying for more than a month (I am an allergic person and have to cook a lot of my food myself). They don’t provide you with basic cooking (or eating) utensils like forks, knives and plates. We, however, managed to get a few sets of cuttlery and some bowls, but it was complicated, I had to kind of fight for it.
3. On the expensive side, including the food and drinks at the hotel.
Overall, would stay again. A few minor inconveniences, but a pretty good experience at Chi.

Amenities can be improved too as what is offered is below its own concept standards.
Only 2 bath towels provided, adding hand or face towels would be good.
No pool towels in the plunge pool room, having it would be nice.
Umbrella is damaged so can’t use it properly, room maid should check these things.
Only 2 pillows provided, having 4 pillows would be nice so each person can have 2 pillows for comfort sleeping.
Rooms with Plunge pool should have its own on/off switch for guests to operate instead of having to call reception to turn it on every time we need to use it.
The water flow in the bathroom shower and wash basin is not consistently flowing with pressure, it low and high water pressure.

GGuest UserThe hotel staff provided good service and carefully explained the precautions. The hotel can rent motorcycles for convenient travel. The facilities are a bit old, but the price is affordable. It is a good choice for mid-priced hotels in Koh Samui. I had breakfast provided by the hotel during my two-day stay.
However, if you see ants in the pool while swimming, be careful about getting bitten. I also hope that hotel rooms will be equipped with international plugs. The pillow height felt too high while sleeping and there were no other pillow options. There are also bugs in the room. I hope pest control work can be done.
