Guest UserSince our rental car couldn't be dropped off at the airport, we urgently contacted the hotel for an airport pick-up before our flight. To our surprise, it was a Lexus! The driver was already waiting for us at the airport and warmly presented us with a Hada (a traditional ******* scarf). The hotel itself has a very distinct ******* character, and you can see mountain views from across the street. Our room number was also super charming! They provide medical-grade Yuyue oxygen concentrators, which were very effective in alleviating altitude sickness on our first day. After a good night's sleep, my headache was gone the next morning. Breakfast was plentiful, featuring ******* noodles, sweet tea, yak butter tea, and tsampa. The staff patiently taught our child how to prepare them. There were also quite a few foreign guests staying at the hotel. I highly recommend it! Additionally, there's a Northeast Chinese restaurant (now converted into a bar) nearby that's very authentic; we ended up eating there two nights in a row.

A very unique and beautiful hotel.
The rooms are spacious with 24-hour underfloor heating (the temperature is adjustable, so you can adjust it to your comfort). The bathroom is also spacious with a separate wet and dry area (though it doesn't have underfloor heating, which is a minor drawback).
The view from the rooms is the most beautiful part; you can take amazing photos just by sitting outside the room, far more beautiful than strolling through Barkhor Street.
The traditional kitchen on the first floor also greatly exceeded my expectations. The food was exquisite, and the service was top-notch; it would be a popular restaurant even in a first-tier coastal city.

Guest UserShenshan Guardian Shenghu, come to the comfort of the guardian of Dangxiong Wanxu Haoting Hotel for your overnight stay. The hotel is located on the road to Namcuo. It is your base camp before going up the mountain and a relaxing place after you go down the mountain. The boss is attentive and the staff is enthusiastic; Oxygen and humidifier are standard, massage chairs let you stay home, solve worries, solve problems, solve fatigue, take a bath like being under the waterfall, the furniture in the room is full of home feeling, the price is full; come to Dangxiong there are snow-capped mountains, holy lakes and Wanxu Haoting.

AilvxingdexiaxiaojieWhen I first arrived in Lhasa, I stayed at Jicai, primarily because of its cleanliness and its proximity to the Potala Palace and Barkhor Street. My experience after checking in was excellent. After my trip to Nyingchi and Mêdog, I booked Jicai again. If you experience altitude sickness, the lobby provides an oxygen concentrator, and the rooms even have diffused oxygen supply.
I had wanted to try breakfast in Lhasa, so on my last day, I bought the hotel's breakfast and discovered their noodles (fen) are really good. I regretted not booking a room with breakfast included. If you're still debating whether to book breakfast, my advice is to go for it if you like sour and spicy noodles, because their breakfast noodles are delicious. Delicious, delicious!
Front desk service was good, and honestly, Jicai offers great value for money. Highly recommended.

Guest UserMy stay at the Potala Palace View Hotel (Potala Palace branch) exceeded all expectations, it was a wonderful surprise! ✨
I was fortunate enough to receive a complimentary room upgrade, granting me a 180-degree direct view of the Potala Palace, with the beautiful scenery of the west completely visible.
The hotel staff were incredibly thoughtful, offering a complimentary breakfast and even preparing thoughtful small items like prayer amulets and a tiny nail clipper. My stay felt comfortable and rejuvenating, making my Lhasa trip very reassuring.

Guest UserI really loved the hotel's courtyard; its architecture has a very exotic feel. Sitting in the courtyard in the afternoon, leisurely sipping a pot of sweet tea, was incredibly relaxing. It's a rare oasis of peace and quiet amidst the bustling streets, perfect for unwinding. The rooftop cafe offers views of the Potala Palace, and guests can go up for free to visit and take photos.
The hotel is conveniently located near the entrance of Barkhor Street. It's just a few minutes' walk to Liukai Fruit Store after a taxi ride. It was very convenient to explore Barkhor Street on foot every day. The ******* noodles for breakfast were delicious, and there was plenty of fruit. Afternoon tea also included a complimentary pot of sweet tea.
The room came with a nasal oxygen concentrator, which was a thoughtful touch. My only minor complaint, personally, was that the room felt a bit small and the soundproofing wasn't great. Because of this, I didn't spend much time in the room other than sleeping, preferring to relax in the courtyard.
Finally, a big thank you to Ms. Zhaxi Lam for her thoughtful and heartwarming service.

This was my third stay at Thangka, and it has noticeably declined compared to my stays in 2018 and 2023. The main reason I chose it again was its proximity to Jokhang Temple. However, this time I experienced significant and continuous noise at night. The next morning, during breakfast, I realized the noise was coming from a machine in the 4th-floor restaurant or the self-service laundry area. I promptly checked out the next day and informed the front desk. The front desk attendant was very kind and assured me that she would report it immediately. I hope Thangka improves.

Guest UserThe hotel's location is excellent, and the front desk staff were very efficient with check-in. It's very close to Potala Palace, making it super convenient for getting around. All the staff were warm and welcoming, the room was clean and tidy, and the night view was fantastic. Guys, you can book this place with your eyes closed – I'd definitely come back if I have the chance!

The rooms in the VIP building of the Tibet Hotel are much better than those in the main Tibet Hotel. The former has been renovated, has oxygen supply, and the breakfast is much better. It seems that the two parts are operated by two different entities, so upgrades are not available directly; you have to check out and book a new room.

Guest UserThe hotel isn't to far from the Portola Palace (a short taxi trip). I wouldn't say its a true 4 star hotel.
The room was a good size, quiet and didn't smell of cigarette smoke. The room was a little worn out; I couldn't get the TV to work, the mirror on the wet bar area was cracked, there were marks to the walls where paintings/pictures had once been. Most annoying was the shower cubicle and the shower over the bath had only cold water! On my last morning the power was off in my area of the hotel and the lift was not working due to the power outage.
The hotel staff do not speak English, but one lady working on reception was especially nice and helpful and we were able to communicate by using the translation app.
There are lots of restaurants near by, but next time I think I'd prefer to stay closer to the Portola Palace.
