GGuest UserThe hotel is absolutely beautiful, with a lobby that truly captures the local essence and boasts a fantastic design. After checking in, I honestly just wanted to stay in and not even go out! Riri at the front desk was incredibly thoughtful. Since I arrived on an early flight before check-in time, she upgraded my room so I could settle in smoothly. A butler delivered my luggage to the room and even asked if the temperature was comfortable and if I needed the oxygen machine turned on! The room was very cozy. After resting for a bit, I went out to explore, and later at 9 PM, I watched the Potala Palace and the sunset from the Tubo Bar on the 6th floor. When I returned, fresh fruit and yogurt were already waiting on the table! I couldn't stay longer as I was heading to Ngari, but I'll definitely be back to stay here for a couple more days!

XXiyoujiejieaStaying at this hotel in Lhasa, I really want to recommend it to all my girlfriends! The location is absolutely amazing, super close to Jokhang Temple and Barkhor Street, all within walking distance ✨. It used to be the old Nepalese Consulate, so it naturally has a 400-year historical vibe. The courtyard is perfect for taking photos in ******* outfits! They offer a free ******* outfit experience + 10 free travel photos, and you can even get a direct view of the Potala Palace from the third-floor terrace! The rooms come standard with an oxygen generator and humidifier. The little basket by the bed even has face masks and makeup remover wipes – a dream come true for anyone who loves attention to detail 🥹. Upon check-in, they present you with a Hada (a traditional ******* silk scarf) and serve sweet tea. You can also experience tsampa making for free, making the check-in experience absolutely fantastic!

GGuest UserThe room is so big Clean and hygienic The front desk service is very polite There are souvenirs available for purchase in the lobby. The price is reasonable and cheaper than at the airport. It's just a bit far from Baguo Street. You have to take a taxi. Everything else is satisfactory.

GGuest UserI stayed at this hotel from June 5-7 2026. The official check in time is listed at 2 pm. They did not give me access to my room until after 4 pm. Furthermore, laundry is listed as included service and they said their facility was not working and had to send it somewhere else. They charged me a hefty fee. I believe it’s a misnomer for this hotel to call themselves “international” This hotel really only caters to Chinese speaking populations, which is fine and the typical situation in Lhasa, but to be more accurate, the hotel shouldn’t make the claim “international.” That would typically imply better more comprehensive services for people outside of one population and nationality. This hotel is listed as 5 stars in Lhasa. I have traveled to many countries and stayed in many 5 star hotels. According to my experience, this hotel doesn’t measure up to a 5 star standard. Perhaps it did in the past. 5 star hotels typically have much better restaurants and dining options. The room was clean and I had a nice view.

HHuodezhanche119This was my third stay at Thangka, and it has noticeably declined compared to my stays in 2018 and 2023. The main reason I chose it again was its proximity to Jokhang Temple. However, this time I experienced significant and continuous noise at night. The next morning, during breakfast, I realized the noise was coming from a machine in the 4th-floor restaurant or the self-service laundry area. I promptly checked out the next day and informed the front desk. The front desk attendant was very kind and assured me that she would report it immediately. I hope Thangka improves.

XXiaojingerdegushiMany people, myself included, often debate between the St. Regis and the Shangri-La, as both hotels in Beijing are quite unremarkable. Ultimately, I chose the Shangri-La for its value for money. I had considered Songtsam too, but common sense told me to be a smart spender. Although the hotel shows its age, its architectural style is grand and refined, revealing luxurious material choices. Time has inevitably left its mark, but a classic car, even when old, is still a classic car. Moreover, service and quality require time to accumulate and withstand market scrutiny. While the Shangri-La may not have many existing locations, it still holds a strong market advantage, and it takes an discerning eye to appreciate it. My butler, Bowen, arranged my room before I even arrived. Looking out the window at the Potala Palace's silhouette in the distance immediately set the mood. He then meticulously delivered on all aspects of my package. I found Bowen to be a man of few words but very steady, highly responsive, and an exceptionally smooth driver. He never asked inappropriate or subjective questions, which I truly appreciated. Over three days, Bowen's accompaniment added a unique dimension to my Lhasa itinerary. Among the few Tibetans I've encountered, he was a definite plus. I sincerely wish him all the best in his work! The Shangri-La in Lhasa lives up to its brand's standards and enhances the reputation of its sister properties. I'm so glad I made the right choice; this will be a memorable and wonderful travel experience.

GGuest UserAfter arriving in Lhasa, I realized how much energy you save by staying close to the attractions. This hotel is super convenient for visiting the Potala Palace, Jokhang Temple, and Barkhor Street. We basically walked everywhere, and whenever we got tired, we could just come back to rest. Every evening, we'd go up to the rooftop terrace and sit for a while. It faces the Potala Palace directly, and the night view after the lights come on is absolutely stunning – perfect for taking some great photos. The lobby offers free coffee and tea all day, and the owner even gave us some milk tablets to try. They were incredibly welcoming, chatting with us like old friends. They proactively reminded us about altitude sickness precautions and recommended sightseeing routes based on our schedule. The whole stay was very relaxing.

GGuest UserI was a bit worried about picking a bad hotel, but it turns out I had nothing to fear. The room was spacious enough and had great natural light. The bathroom was odor-free, and they provided a full set of toiletries. The price was also very reasonable, making it a great value for money when traveling. The front desk staff were incredibly warm and patient, and very efficient! I'll definitely stay here again on my next business trip.

GGuest UserThe room facilities were excellent, and free oxygen was provided at 8:00 PM. The breakfast had a wide variety of options and tasted quite good. The lobby reception staff were very helpful. The hotel's location was good, and taxis were readily available. It also had a courtyard, small garden, and pond, making for a beautiful environment. Thank you!
