- Room: A traditional apartment was converted into three rooms, with a small kitchen and a common area for each room. Each room is different and the space is quite large. In fact, it is more like a shared apartment. The room should have been newly renovated not long ago, and the facilities are OK, but it is not very soundproof. However, many European hotels are not soundproof either, so there may be no way.
- Location: A love-hate location, very close to the train station, right next to it, but the streets are really messy and dirty, and there are hidden dangers of unsafe conditions. You need to be very calm and strong when going out.
- If you are passing by for a transfer, or don't mind the chaos in Europe and Africa, you can stay here. If you are on vacation and have a similar budget, it is best to choose other areas.
- In addition, the check-in time of this accommodation is 5 pm, which is later than ordinary hotels. Otherwise, there is an additional charge of 25 euros, and an additional cleaning fee of 100 euros. To be honest, this is a bit of a pitfall. Booking also has many homestays, but many do not have such charges. They are classified as hotels in Ctrip, so it is easy to ignore them.
- Checking in is also quite troublesome. You have to fill in a lot of information through Google sheet before check-in. It is not friendly to many people who cannot use it and it feels informal.

The suite was gorgeous and our host was extremely responsive, attentive, hospitable and made our experience just that much better. Trip.com, however, threw a BIG wrench in our check-in process as we needed a code to access the suite the first time (then we were given a key card and actual keys for the building's exterior doors) and our host was unable to access ANY info to contact us via Trip.com. So if you book by Trip.com, be sure to message/text/Whatsapp the provided phone number or else you'll find yourself a little stuck like we did. Thankfully, a kind gentleman helped us out and all was well. I'd 100% recommend staying here and I hope we have the opportunity to do so too.

I stayed here for 3 nights with my friend. 10€ a night was a great deal. Met some fun people at the hostel and had a good time. Location was also convenient with grocery store and bus stop to most places near. My only complaints would be there is extra fee with city tax 10€ each we were not told about. Bathrooms have strange odour, and air conditioning was on all night when it's already quite cold. I ended up getting a cold from the air con. And also me and my friend were 2 women and we were put in 8 bedroom room with only men so was wary of safety, especially since one of the men tried to ask me to sleep with him in the middle of the night! But again the type of customer is not the hostels fault. If you want a cheap place to stay and don’t mind not living in luxury, come here for sure also a great way to meet new people in the city.

I only had a short stay here but I enjoyed my time. The staff were welcoming, friendly and helpful. It was a quirky place, easy to navigate round and I found it useful to be able to use the lockers before and after my check in/out. I found the price to be more than reasonable and would definitely recommend.

We had an unexpected stay here, we had actually booked for Hotel Auditorium Di Mecenate, but upon drop off the member of staff who met us from the taxi brought us one street over to the Marta Inn. Appears to be situated in a residential building, some residents had signs up by their doors saying ”we are not a bed and breakfast, do not ring”. We were a bit confused about this but settled ourselves in. We had a room next to the kitchen and our bathroom was situated one over from that, not an en-suite which was said when we booked (but then again, we weren't staying in the same place!). Room was lovely and clean, glasses and snacks were replaced daily and breakfast of pastries was left in a bag on our door handle every morning at 9am. The cleaner was very polite and friendly, even turning the air-con on for us during the day so it was ready for our return! Walls, however, are paper thin. A group of girls checked in two days before our week long stay was up and they were incredibly loud. Screaming, shouting and dragging furniture about, you could hear them as if they were in your own room. I honestly don't believe it was just the girls, that it's just you would've heard noise no matter what. Location was fantastic, very central with lots of restaurants and sites to see nearby. Colosseum and Roman Forum less than 15 minutes walk, trevi fountain and pantheon less than 30 minutes walk. Final point, the staff didn't appear to be on site and could only be contacted via WhatsApp. We had a quick response, but a family that got locked out of their room seemed to be waiting well over an hour for someone to come and let them back in. Overall, a good stay, but not the place we expected at all!

In case your health is important for you and you don't like to meet very non professional service - run away from this organization/address at all. My flight was late night - arrived Rome after 23:30 - someone from this organization calling me and telling with ultimatums something like ”if you are not going to pay me additionally I'll not come and open doors, you can stay in the street like homeless” although I paid for all that full day - reached to the place at 00:50 - doors were closed, there were no-one - the guy finally came - as I was with family on the street and have no other option than promise via phone that ”ok come I'll pay additionally, and later I'll try to solve the issue” I double checked with my turagent - and she said that after she paid hotel for whole trip and there were no any way to cancel anything - only after that she received a note that ”...our reception is open until 11:00pm and if guests arrive after this time they are required to pay a late check-in fee of 15 euros and our staff only wait until 01:00am. After 01:00 until 02:00 the suppliment is 25 euros and our staff only wait until 02:00...” But even with this I was charged full 25 euros (again with ultimatums that I can stay in the street, in the night) - although we arrived 00:50. Тhey are trying to shamelessly deceive and cheat you for money as much as they can - with ultimatums and threats. Even the indian reception guy in the next day said directly to me honestly something like ”you are tourist and here in the Italy for vacation and we are scraping money from you as much as possible, and I think for you 10-20-50... euros more/less - you will not become a poor” I'm traveling enough - have been in different countries, hotels, guest houses, etc. (5,4,3.. stars, without any stars) - nowhere there were no such a unprofessional staff-management whose main goal seems was just cheating customers - they don't try even listen, understand and solve - they just trying to push their position by lying and without checking anything what you are trying to explain them. I would not recommend this organization, this staff, this service... to even my enemy. And be careful they can easily change the name as they don't have any sign about their organization in the street and their manager (at least he told me that he is a manager) said me that I can put my feedback/notes anywhere I want... they are not going to accept their problem and do any refund from what they already was able to charge from myself in the first night with ultimatums - so I kindly advise you to avoid this address at all.

Very good stay experience. The entire hotel is an old Italian brand designed in light luxury style. The service from the handsome guy at the hotel front desk was great! Like 👍 When the room assigned to me was on the second floor, I asked if there was an elevator? The handsome guy replied without hesitation, ”I am the elevator🛗”, which made me laugh out loud! Awesome 👏Feeling like home. Because we were staying for 4 days, and the breakfast was exquisite and rich, everything was so comfortable and considerate. The Italian beauties serving in the restaurant were always very sweet and attentive, taking good care of everything! There is a wonderful historical church opposite the hotel. It's also very close to the Colosseum. When I left, it was still early before the train departed, so I entrusted the handsome guy to store my luggage, which was no problem. I am also worried that foreigners will be fined if they call a taxi. I want to ask how much does it cost for a handsome guy to go to the station? The answer was no problem, and he would help us solve it. We contacted the taxi company's customer service on the phone. When the taxi arrived, he paid special attention to the driver. Sure enough, the taxi fare when we got off was less than what he told us. I should give it 5 stars in every aspect🌟👏I will come back as long as I am in Rome!

Staying at this hotel was a wonderful experience! Clarissa at the front desk went above and beyond to help me when I was confused about the type of room I booked. She was kind and helpful and made me feel happy and excited about our stay even before we arrived.
I combed over so many reviews for a good room in Rome on a moderate budget. My criteria was to find a room that was affordable (around $60 USD/night), locates within walking distance/public transport of all the attractions, comfortable, and sound-proof. It seems that from all the reviews written, some rooms did not look as they were advertised. But Auditorium di Mecenate looked just as was advertised. The room is a little small but perfect for couples who want to stay close to one another in such a beautiful city.
There was a great AC that kept the room so cool, a smart TV that offered us everything from Netflix to YouTube, and a mini-fridge. There was a market just around the corner, so buying our own food occasionally helped us save money. Additionally, there were some great cheap/moderately-priced restaurant options nearby as well as a termini station within walking distance.
The bed was very comfortable and the staff worked so well to keep our room clean. They also gave us croissants every morning by hanging a bag on our door. It was so nice to wake up and have them waiting for us.
We had such a lovely time that we ended up staying in the room more than we thought we would. The only note would be that if you order a double bed it’s liable to be two single beds pushed together. We typically don’t like this, but in this hotel, it wasn’t so bad.
This place is also small, so there aren’t many rooms. But that gives you the feeling of being in a much more personal place with all the convenient features of a hotel, which I loved.
Lastly, the door is not clearly marked. It’s behind a large wooden door directly across the street from a pharmacy and next to a pizzeria with a yellow sign. It’s located on the third floor and there is a lift!
We would definitely stay at this location again. We were beyond pleased and had such a lovely stay in Rome thanks to this hotel.

We stayed at Domus Castrense for 3 nights near the end of our European holiday. It was fairly close to Termini station. We walked there dragging our luggage. When we found it, it was just a big closed door and on entry there was an old fashionsed cage lift going up to the reception and then onwards further up to a different floor where our room was. Conveniently enough the breakfast room was on our floor too , the 5th. Breakfast was continental style with pastries, juice, yoghurts, fruit, coffee etc Would have loved a kettle or coffee machine in the room. All the staff were very friendly and helpful. The room was small but fresh, modern and fairly newish.

The location is convenient as it is across Roma Termini especially if you have an early train to catch. The room was clean with clean beddings and towels and the staff were nice. There’s a small kitchen with free coffee/tea which is good as we need to start the day with coffee. My kids liked staying there. Since its near termini, there’s a lot of options where to get quick bites, cheap eats and the mercato inside termini. Suprisingly, it’s quiet at night (past 10pm) until 6am. They also offerred luggage storage on our checkout day for free. Plus, its not expensive compared to other airbnb/hotel/hostel if you want to have a good accommodatuon where you can get a goodnight sleep after long walks visiting tourist sites. All in all, we will stay there again if we come back to Rome.

GGuest UserIt was an extended weekend family trip, so this hotel was a good fit since it was not all that far away from some interesting things, and it was priced reasonably. The room was spacious, with a plain design making it a little ugly, but it was clean and well cared for. Our view was of the apartments in the opposite buildings, but we got our views elsewhere. The bathroom was OK even if the shower doors did not close properly. They cleaned the room daily and left fresh towels, even if we did not ask for. What was really bad was the soap/shampoo that they offered. Not that it smelled bad or anything but it reminded me of the soaps hotels had in the 80s The common are was almost always busy, but the people were respectful and friendly, and left the place clean. The wifi was fast, even when using VPN like I did. Breakfast was nice, with a lot of choices and interesting flavors. But the coffee was really bad. You do not expect that in Italy, but it was from an automatic machine that made different kind of coffees, so the result was bad. The people that worked there were always smiling, were friendly and eager to help, which is something that always helps when you are staying in a foreign country. The hotel is next to a police station and the immediate area felt safe, even at night. There are homeless people close by but they never bothered us. There is also a metro station within walking distance. All in all, we had a pleasant stay and it is a great choice for a brief family vacation

GGuest UserI have never been to a place where a hotel feels like home. This is one of the amazing benefits of staying in Ostello Bello. The staff, bartenders, and night shift felt like absolute family by the end and I truly will never stay anywhere else while in Rome. Fravio (hope I am spelling that right) made my trip with his kind and friendly demeanor. All of the bartenders made me feel at home and welcome at all times. Treating me more than fairly in every citrcumstance. The rooms were clean and nice, with working showers and good facilities. I truly have nothing negative to say about my visit.

GGuest UserExceptional staff and the cozy, welcoming atmosphere. I really loved the communal vibe among guests, turning it into more than just a place to stay. The hostel organized evening activities fostering connections. I stayed in a 4-bed dorm room. The bed had a sliding door for extra privacy, comfortable mattress, and spacious storage drawer with a lock. The ensuite bathroom was also spacious. The hostel's location is a dream for avid walkers. I was able to stroll to San Giovanni for the Scala Santa and Basilica San Giovanni di Laterano, as well as to Basilica di Santa Maria Maggiore and even further to the Colosseum. The proximity to Manzoni, Vittorio Emanuele, and Termini metros made navigating the city a breeze.

KKATRIEN HENDRIKA AThe ho(s)tel was brand-new, and very clean! The beds where a bid hard, but thats personal preference. We asked for more pillows and towels, and they happily obliged. The breakfast buffet is pretty basic, so don't expect any warm/hot food like fresh eggs or bacon - but it's all you need. The whole staff was superfriendly. The location is perfect, as it's sitting at walking distance from the most famous sights: Colloseum, Trevi, ... Apart from that - it's only a 4-min walk from the metro-station 'Republica'. There's a convenience store located right in front of the hotel, which also comes in handy for getting a few bottles of water for the road. Would recommend, and definitely stay here again!
PPzzNice friendly hostel. Late arrivals are free of charge, they hold the bed for you all night. 24hr front desk. The location is amazing. Everything is walking distance. Female-only rooms available. There is a safe near each bed and also a locker underneath for luggage (bring your own padlock or purchase one from reception for €2). The rooms are clean and the beds have attachable curtain for privacy. You also get a welcome drink at the bar for free. Recommended.

KKezia FMthe hostel itself and its garden is splendid, it really is a beautiful hostel, but just the location is a little far (around 25-30 min walk) to the touristic places (colosseum, pantheon, etc.). definitely try it if you are staying for a long time in rome and you have the time to commute. + please make the wifi more stable, sometimes it’s hard to connect to it 🫶🏻
The stay was lovely. The place was clean and very close to the train station, and subway. Enjoyed the stay. Very helpfull and kind staff. Good service. Nice and clean accomodations. Highly recommendable hostel. I had a very pleasant stay. The staff was really helpful and courteous. The location of the hostel is great and close to everything. Regards.

JJulian22The location is very central for all tourist sites, there is no need to take any means of transport, as well as the airport bus route passes 5 minutes walking from the hotel. The hotel is very comfortable and comfortable, especially with a staff who took care of the rounds when I was present.
