"It was my first time staying at a hotel of the Tsuruga Group. It was really as good as its reputation. The dinner was Japanese kaiseki cuisine. Each dish was exquisite and delicious. I stayed at the entrance of the hot spring in the west building. It was so cool. It was very comfortable to soak in the hot spring."
"Overall, everything that doesn't concern your room and food is pretty nice - the location is good, the view is fantastic, the lounge is spectacular. However when it gets to service and your room, it is poor. As you can see on the photos, the room is old and there is mould left there. The staff do not take notice even when I asked for a change of room. Furthermore, the drainage will smell in your bathroom. The wifi is also poor and you get faint signal not just in your room but also in the restaurant.
The service overall was poor, with the service during the buffet very mixed, with a combination of junior staff guiding you to wrong places and the manager ordering you about without a level of courtesy.
This is a place to visit once, and not go back. There are others along the lake that are worth trying out."
"This is the most satisfying house I have ever lived in Japan. No matter the size, facilities and environment are first class, there is a feeling of being in New Zealand.
Environment: About 2 kilometers from Toya Lake Commercial Street, a little distance walk, very quiet, surrounded by scattered residential rooms. It was a little scared outside the house in the middle of the night.
Service: Wanshi Pavilion takes the key, check out and put the key directly in the villa, check out at 10 o'clock is more troublesome
Facilities: The information shows that it has been open for 23 years, but the facilities inside are obviously not new. Some years, but the maintenance is very good. The things used are very advanced. The sink in the kitchen is particularly good. Microwave oven, oven, tea set tableware induction cooker have everything, especially the whole hot spring, dressing room, There are showers, it feels like a holiday house designed by rich people for themselves, and later sold to Wanshige.
Location: There is a convenience store 5 minutes walk. But if you are not driving, it is not recommended."

"There were not many reviews on Ctrip, so I was a little worried before coming. After coming, it was completely beyond my expectations! We took the bus from Toyako JR Station to Figure 1 (Higashimachi Station), and walked to the hotel in about ten minutes. The transportation was very convenient. The sanitation was also very clean, the sound insulation was excellent, the hotel breakfast was also very rich, and there was a bathhouse for bathing in the evening, which was open until 11 pm. You can take a bath when you are tired, which is very comfortable! Any tourists who come to Toyako should not miss this hotel!"
"Watch our first snow from this hotel window. And can walk to outside have a nice photo shooting. Room is cozy and clean. Also has onsen can use everyday."
"Great position just in front of the lake. You can see the lake from the onzen. Onzen is great with a few of people.
The two original rooms arranged to us were not clean. One with blood stain on toilet bowl, another one with blood stained on sofa. Yet, staff arranged new rooms for us on another floor. The view is great if you choose lake view room.
Buffet was okay with a wide range of food. The tables were low just like desks for kids at school. There were a lot of noisy tourisits during meals. Very disturbing."
"The host does not speak English and Chinese. He loves cleanliness. He stayed alone and didn't meet. I saw the note printed on the door. The instructions were very clear. Just go to the room table and get the key. Remember to change your shoes upstairs and lift the stairs. You can't wear shoes when you enter the room. After check-in, I have to call the host and send a small gift, thank you. The bathroom door is not very flexible, but it doesn't matter. The host gave the Wanshige soup coupon. It is enough to pay 500 yen. The soup is very good. There is no need to wash it at the host. Experienced the joy of making your bed and staying at a Japanese homestay! (Tips for Chinese tourists, the homeowner emphasizes that garbage should be sorted, if not, he will bring it to 711 and lose it). In short, I am quite satisfied! Also supplemented the knowledge of tatami. The front desk is on the left door, check in to see if there is your name on several doors. In addition, it is recommended that the gray kerosene heater on the right hand be collected, and the new white one in the corner is fine, otherwise you will really smell the kerosene, and it also wrote a reminder for ventilation at least 2 times in an hour. The white is the new one. There is no problem. In short, a very good homestay experience, thank you host."
"The hotel is mainly for hot springs♨️, there are no other facilities to speak of. The room settings are mainly traditional Japanese design, and the bathroom in the room is very small. The hotel lobby provides alcohol, food and snacks, which is considerate😘; the hotel staff are very friendly and assist guests👍🏻; you can walk to a convenience store in about 5 minutes from the hotel. The hotel is close to Lake Toya, and it is very leisurely to take a walk by the lake."
"Overall, we had a very good experience at Toyako Manseikaku Hotel Lakeside Terrace. The hotel offers a great lakeside view and relaxing environment. However, during check-in, there was some confusion. I had emailed earlier to inform the hotel that we would be bringing an extra guest and asked if there would be any additional charges, but unfortunately received no reply. Upon arrival, we were told to top up extra charges, yet no extra bed was provided in the original room. Only after expressing my dissatisfaction did they upgrade our room.
I truly appreciate Ms. Hana for her professionalism and effort in handling the situation. She did a great job with the final arrangement, and her service made a big difference in our overall stay. Thank you!"
