Hotels in Dapuqiao Area, Shanghai

We had very good stay in this Pullman. Well located close metro, shopping mall and Tizinfang small streets. Front office was always very helpfull with any request i raised. Especially Zhou Kang help us to find for us one specific exhibicionismus in shanghai. Also Thanks to him we got our room earlier and it really helped us to survive our first day after long journey. Swimming pool is good one, reasonable size, just bring cap. We also liked Executive lounge with good variety of foods and drinks. Breakfast server till 10:30 also helped ;-). I can only recommend this hotel.

I last stayed at this hotel 10 years ago, when it was still named ”Regal International East Asia Hotel”. 10 years later, when I had the opportunity to stay at this hotel again, I was surprised that the hotel was more or less kept as the same, with a similar classy style and decor. Even the rooms looked the same! Although they were probably never renovated, the fixtures and fittings were kept in very good condition and the beds comfortable. It is located in a very classy and laid back part of Xujiahui, Shanghai which was part of the former french concession. I had a good stroll down Hengshan Road, and found that while it was tree-lined and as pretty as ever, there were more cafes and malls there now. The location is also very convenient, a short stroll away from Wukang Building, 5 mins walk to Hengshan Road station and 15mins drive from the bund. As I had just arrived from Chongqing, which is most definitely a second tier chinese city, I was taken aback by the good english spoken by the reception, which was much better than that in a similar 5 star hotel in CQ. The hotel staff all provided good service and were courteous. The room was large and I appreciated the work table, something that is not common in other hotels of similar price range. The toilet's design was a little strange though, as there was no real separation from the shower area and the sink(only had a glass door). While I didn't have the time to use the hotel's facilities, there was a large indoor swimming pool and a fully equipped gym-- with fitness instructors and classes. Very impressive. The breakfast at the lobby restaurant was also good, with a good selection of hot food and bread, nothing to complain about. I also loved taking a stroll in the garden behind the restaurant, where locals were exercising and the gentle winter breeze uplifted my mood greatly. Overall, for the price paid, it is a good value for money hotel in Xujiahui, Shanghai, I love the hotel itself and the neighbourhood it is located in. I would not hesitate to recommend this hotel to others and would definitely stay here again if I am back in Shanghai, China.

The service was beyond my expectation! I arrived quite late since I came across province (from Hangzhou) and need to prepare myself in order to travel to South Korea and Japan on the next day. So I planned to wash my clothes and repack my luggage here. When I arrived here, they asked a lot of questions in case I need anything. They even have a free dumpling soup (เกี๊ยวน้ำ) during 10-11 PM. I prepared my noodles cups to eat here at first since I researched that not many restaurant surrounded, so they helped my cooked the cup noodles with their coffee machine (for boiled water) and I can had them with free dumpling soups. Felt good! Washing machines are downstairs, I couldn’t used it since I had no Chinese numbers, so the receptionist helped me too, and the laundry is free here, too. So I can see many people had the dumpling soup while waiting for their laundry. Full of people in the lobby during 10-11 PM. Never expected to see this. The room was nice too. Not big but enough space, with a great view of Shanghai. Comfortable room with enough ventilation. I hope I can come back staying here again one day!

Stayed for 3 nights and felt very good. The quiet yard has osmanthus trees, flowers and plants. Sitting at the small table under the umbrella shed and listening to the parrots is so comfortable. You can also park for free in the yard, which is really great! The room decoration and equipment are very new, the socket arrangement is very reasonable, there are bedside tables, tables, water tables, and bathrooms, and there is a small refrigerator in the room, which is very good for cold drinks in summer. The hotel waiters are very good, patient and considerate. The breakfast is very rich, the restaurant layout is also very interesting, and there is a sewing machine! The location is good and travel is very convenient. The children don’t want to leave after staying here. They said they must stay in the terrace room next time to experience it.

The room was clean, except for some details like under the bed, where it was full of dust. The closet is small for two people to share and the space available for storing clothes/luggage is in general tiny. Location of the hotel is nice, as it lies in a quite walkable area, and by foot you can reach the Huaihai Road (good for shopping) in 35m. Metro line 9 is a 15m walk. The service was okay. The staff at the reception did not speak English and they offered no help or guidance about the city: quite essential service. Their attitude was in general detached and seemed quite un-open to communicating. Also, after leaving the room and realizing there were still some clothes left inside, I tried to report it to the reception and they just sent me to the room to check without even communicating to the cleaning service. It ended up that my clothes were not in the room anymore and the staff offered no further help, so I left without these clothes. Also, i had explicitly booked a room with “City View” and I was placed in room 1402 with one very dirty window - out of 2 windows available to enjoy the view. After asking to clean it, they made an unsuccessful attempt and then just left me with the dirty window without any kind of compensation. I was only offered to switch to another room in a lower floor and with no city view, which made no sense considering I had paid more specifically to have a room with “City View”. Breakfast is decent and offers a good variety of food. The staff is understanding if a host is taking few minutes past closing time to finish the food. The staff at the breakfast floor is also very nice and friendly. The main perk of the hotel for me was the cafè at the hall, where a very friendly girl employee works. She was very nice and gave me and my girlfriend some unique advice on places to visit in the city. She was of course also making extremely good flat white and coffee. Balancing everything out though, if was to come back to Shanghai, I would probably choose a different hotel.

The location is good, there are many restaurants around the area, the metro stop is close by when you arrive you may be confused because there are about 20 or so exits and some of the exits don't have an esklators , there are 3 lines that converg at the metro stop, even the locals get confused which way to exit, the rooms are clean, the staff is very curtious and very helpful, most of them don't speak English, I recommend you use a translator app, that helps out tremendously. Breakfast is sufficient, it is a mix of toast and mini croissants butter strawberry jelly and poached eggs and bacon and a piece of fruit with coffee or orange juice,or Chinese breakfast consisting of rice small salad with soup or porage Chinese boiled eggs etc. It is a minimalist breakfast, it is good and will keep you full till lunch.

I booked it for my friend. I booked it for one night with a try-it attitude. After checking in, I felt it was very ideal, great value for money, and the service was also very professional and enthusiastic. Therefore, it should be given a five-star praise

Good services, the staff is very friendly, the room is very clean. The location near metro station and the facilities is good. Highly recommended.

Entire hotel is modern and prettily designed. Location is accessible to many malls around the corner and there's a beautiful St Ignatius Cathedral next to it. Many amenities provided. Front desk also gave a set of children amenities - toothbrush set and child-size bedroom slippers. Didn't realize till too late but tea with snacks were free for guests at a certain timing and there was supper provided also from 9.30pm till late - chef preparing noodles that you prefer and select on your own from a variety of ingredients and choices. Very homely gesture yet warming for guests. Reason I found this was it was pretty close to the Shanghai South Railway station. The concierge and front desk manager helped us locate a taxi in the rain because Didi couldn't locate one. Everything was smooth and comfortable. Would highly recommend and will stay again when w get a chance.
