This stay was incredibly comfortable. The hotel's location is excellent, with a supermarket just a short walk away, making daily shopping very convenient. The lobby is warm and inviting, always stocked with hot water, coffee, and candies – a lot of thoughtful details. The room was spotlessly clean, and the bedding was soft and comfortable, making for a truly relaxing stay. The staff were friendly and welcoming, and very quick to respond to requests. Overall, it offers great value for money, making it an excellent choice for accommodation when traveling.

The room layout was well-designed and functional, spotlessly clean. I especially loved the bathroom area; the spot for grabbing clothes, then right out to the mirror and soft stool for drying hair – the flow was incredibly well-thought-out. There's also a large space opposite the sofa, perfect for luggage. The location is fantastic too, right next to Xujiahui Metro Line 1 station. Grand Gateway 66, Metro City, and Xujiahui Library are all within easy walking distance. The hotel's breakfast and late-night supper options were good, and the welcome fruit selection was rich and high-quality. Plus, breakfast extends until 11 AM on holidays, which is a huge bonus. My only minor gripe is that it would be even better if the two elevators were a bit faster; waiting times could be quite long unless you happened to catch one just arriving. I have to give a shout-out to the front desk staff! Their service was incredibly thoughtful throughout my stay. The check-in process was efficient and seamless, and they even proactively offered recommendations for local attractions. They were so friendly and patient, and always responded quickly to any last-minute requests for help. Truly professional and kind. The clean and comfortable environment combined with the fantastic front desk service made this a perfect stay. I'll definitely be back!

This was my best experience in a hotel in China. Everyone was so nice!! I should go back to SH every year and I think I'll stay there again and again!!

The room is fully equipped with slippers, a hairdryer, and toiletries. Food deliveries are brought right to your door by a robot. The hotel's location is fantastic; there's a park across the street perfect for kids, and four large shopping malls next door make dining incredibly convenient. We had a lot of luggage, and the hotel staff helped us move it and even stored it for free. Very satisfied!

Unexpectedly satisfied! 👍 I originally thought a hotel over ten years old wouldn't have any special features, but as soon as I walked into the lobby, I was touched by the sacred 'Thangka' (******* Buddhist painting). The newly renovated lobby is spacious, bright, harmonious, and welcoming. For some reason, I suddenly felt like I was home. ❤️ The front desk staff was sweet and friendly, offering thoughtful greetings and meticulous, proper service – excellent! My room was on the 22nd floor. The newly renovated standard room was warm and comfortable, full of spring-like cheer. Outside the window, I had a perfect view of the newly erected, bright and beautiful Xujiahui Centre and the Andaz Hotel. I didn't expect the best viewing spot to be right from my room! 😊 The soundproofing in the room was excellent; I wasn't disturbed by any noise at all. When I asked in the morning, I found out the hotel made special efforts during renovation to focus on sound insulation. The breakfast was also amazing – a wide variety, visually appealing, and attentive service! Marriott hotels truly are different; great value for money. Thumbs up! 👍 I especially recommend the ******* specialty food: Tsampa. It's fluffy, soft, fragrant, and sweet, not at all greasy. Just thinking about it makes me want to stay there again.

I absolutely have to give this hotel a huge thumbs-up! From the moment I walked in, I felt incredibly well-cared for. Great location! However, aside from the lobby, the hotel's facilities are quite old. The rooms are clean and tidy, service is prompt, and the staff are courteous. That said, the service quality among front desk staff varies. The male receptionist during check-in was serious-faced throughout, offered no smiles or greetings, while the concierge was even worse! The male receptionist during check-out was much better – smiling, proactive with greetings, and polite goodbyes. For a supposed four-star hotel, the service quality is a bit lacking. Even though star-rating reassessments have somewhat downplayed service in recent years, I'd suggest HR and quality control conduct some mystery shopper visits and step up training. Otherwise, even in peak season, room rates won't compete with mid-range chains.

The thoughtful amenities like the cozy tea corner and ample storage truly elevate the living experience. Our butler, Lily, was proactively attentive and incredibly efficient. When we needed a room upgrade, she handled it swiftly and seamlessly. The location is wonderfully quiet and peaceful, far from the city's hustle and bustle, ensuring a superb rest. The entire place was meticulously cleaned; not a speck of dust or hair in sight – perfectly spotless!

The pros are the location and the newly renovated parts, which are quite new. The cons are the lack of attention to detail. The handheld showerhead can literally only be held; if you put it in the shower holder, it points at a specific angle towards the shower door crack and the corner of the wall, which is quite frustrating. Although it's a 4-star hotel, it feels like the facilities and service are on par with a budget hotel, so it's understandable that it differs from the Hengshan Garden Hotel nearby. The basic room type has no windows, and the upgrade failed, but for one night, it wasn't a big deal. There's a free laundry room available.
