Hotels in Hongqiao Airport/National Exhibition and Convention Center, Shanghai

I specifically booked the 'Caring Baby' room type at this hotel. After a disappointing experience the night before at Aerotel Pudong, the 'Caring Baby' room at AVIC was a pleasant surprise. It had large floor-to-ceiling windows, a great floor level, and an excellent view. For aviation enthusiasts, the abundance of Hongqiao aircraft models and the sheer number of planes made it very appealing and highly recommended. The room type included breakfast for two adults and two children, plus executive lounge access. Since my older child was sixteen, the front desk even upgraded us to a 'three adults and one child' arrangement. Although the hotel opened a few years ago, it feels very clean overall, and most of the staff are quite enthusiastic. My only slight discomfort was during lunch at the Chinese restaurant. The hostess who seated us was rather aloof and casually placed us at a table near the entrance. Later, I realized there were only three tables occupied, including ours, with the other two in private rooms. There were only two or three people at those tables, and several other private rooms were empty. For our group of four, it felt quite arbitrary how we were seated, and she didn't smile once. The waitstaff who served the food, however, were very good and quite enthusiastic. Another minor hiccup was that I remembered the upgrade included breakfast for three adults and one child. But at breakfast, they said the room type only included breakfast for two adults and one child. They said I didn't need to pay for the older child, but I had to pay for the younger one. I figured the older child wasn't really a 'child' anymore, so I paid. However, looking back at the room type details, it should have included two adults and two children, not two adults and one child. Overall, my impression of AVIC is very good, and it's highly recommended. I'll definitely go back if I have the chance.

The location is pretty good; it's not far from Hongqiao, about a 15-minute taxi ride. It's also not too far from Jinyun Road subway station, about a 10-minute walk, making it quite convenient to get to the city center or various places in Pudong. The room environment is decent, and the breakfast taste is okay, but there's a bit too little food, not much to choose from. Usually, Holiday Inn Express breakfasts are quite good, but this one has fewer options.

Overall, I was quite satisfied with my stay. Upon check-in for my birthday, they thoughtfully provided a small cake, which was a nice touch. However, I wasn't able to receive a room upgrade. Interestingly, I found the Executive Deluxe Room to be preferable to the Executive Grand Room. A standout feature was the bathroom design: the toilet, vanity, bathtub, and shower are all in separate areas. There's even a small hand basin within the toilet cubicle, which is incredibly convenient as it allows the toilet and showering/bathing facilities to be used independently. This segmented design, where the toilet is in its own private cubicle, is similar to the twin rooms at Hyatt Regency Shanghai Global Harbor and Hyatt Regency Songjiang. The service at the Club InterContinental Lounge on the 10th floor was exceptionally attentive. Furthermore, the gym and swimming pool on the 5th floor are complimentary for all hotel guests.

This stay was absolutely fantastic! From the moment I stepped into the hotel lobby, I was embraced by a warm and bright atmosphere. The front desk staff were incredibly nice, handling check-in efficiently and patiently. They even thoughtfully provided local sightseeing tips and detailed information about hotel facilities. The room was impeccably clean and tidy, the bedding soft and comfortable, and the soundproofing was excellent, ensuring a restful night's sleep until morning. The breakfast buffet offered a wide variety of fresh ingredients, with both Chinese and Western dishes exquisitely prepared. Even the small desserts were both visually appealing and delicious. The hotel's location is also superb, making it incredibly convenient for getting around and shopping. Whether for a business trip or a vacation, this place is my top choice. I've already recommended it to friends, and I'll definitely be staying here again on my next visit!

Checked in a little after midnight last night, and the service was incredibly professional and quick. They have a free laundry room with washers and dryers. Plus, they gave us an extra hour for late checkout, so we didn't have to leave until 3 PM.

My flight was delayed the day before, and I had another flight from Hongqiao the next day, which made going home quite inconvenient. So, I chose this brand-new hotel connected to the terminal, and it offered excellent value for money. The staff were all very polite, especially the front desk attendant, who answered questions with a level of professionalism that showed they were very well-trained. The hotel lobby has a crystal chandelier, and the ceiling above it is glass, allowing sunlight to stream in. It looked beautiful in the morning, but my photography skills are limited, so please bear with the pictures. Breakfast was decent, nothing exceptional but sufficient for a business breakfast to get your energy going. The only design flaw in the hotel was that the shower door was too close to the vanity, making the space feel cramped when the shower door was opened.

The location is very convenient, close to the airport and railway station. The environment is good. The staffs are very friendly and helpful.

Exceeded my expectations for comfort, I'll definitely choose this hotel again next time. The room was very clean, and the bedding was skin-friendly and breathable, so I woke up feeling refreshed after a night's sleep. The bathroom's wet and dry separation was neatly done and comfortable to use. The front desk staff provided very thoughtful service; check-in was quick. When I needed an extra pillow, a quick call had it delivered to my room in no time. The breakfast selection wasn't huge but sufficient, with fresh congee and side dishes that tasted homemade and reliable. Overall, it's great value for money, highly recommended for those who prioritize practicality and comfort!

This hotel is incredibly close to Hongqiao Station. It's less than a 20-minute walk from the exit, or about a 12-minute taxi ride to the departure area. The surrounding area consists of office buildings, making it very quiet. The room was clean and tidy, and they even provided complimentary drinks and fruit. The breakfast was also quite good!

For this price point in Shanghai, the service we received truly exceeded all expectations! The hotel environment is excellent; P3 shows the lovely little garden outside our window. The complimentary beverages provided by the hotel were delicious! They also offered candies, fruits, and other small snacks. Check-in was very quick. The front desk staff even proactively escorted us to our room, and after we settled in, they called to confirm that everything was to our liking. The front desk service was exceptionally thoughtful and polite – truly what guests deserve! When booking, I specifically requested a non-smoking room, and I was very pleased to see the non-smoking label upon check-in. The hotel also features a mini-fridge stocked with complimentary water and beverages. We booked a twin room, and each bed thoughtfully came with two pillows – one soft and one slightly firmer. The hotel slippers were also thoughtfully provided in different colors. Food delivery was handled by a robot, cleverly avoiding any disturbance from external delivery drivers or hotel staff. This comprehensive consideration for guests' various needs was a huge plus! To summarize: The cleanliness, ambiance, and service were all excellent, particularly the hotel's highly personalized and thoughtful service. It offers outstanding value for money, and I am extremely satisfied. I will definitely stay here again on my next visit to Shanghai! (A quick note: There was some construction in the surrounding area during my stay. Although the hotel is very close to the subway station, the walk from the station wasn't the easiest. However, the hotel's soundproofing was excellent, so we didn't hear any construction noise.)
