Hotels in People's Square Area, Shanghai

In contrast to my previous stay at a nearby 5-star hotel, this hotel provided a much more enjoyable experience. The highlight was the fabulous view overlooking Nanjing Pedestrian Street, which was absolutely stunning. While both hotels had their merits, the view here definitely added to the overall positive experience. Overall, I had a good stay, and I would recommend this hotel for anyone looking for a great location and beautiful views.

Super nice, super clean, super nice staff. Especially staff can speak English, which is rare in hotels in china. The receptionist welcomed us very enthusiastically. The famous places are close to the hotel, only 10-15 minutes to go. The room is very fragrant and cozy. I had a great experience here and will recommend it to my friends or will book again when coming to the next Shanghai trip

Location was super excellent!! Hotel is located at Nanjing Road close to The Bund, shopping mall, restaurants and take around 5 mins walk to subway. Staff was really helpful even though they can’t speak English. Our room is on the high floor without elevator access they carried our luggage to our room. I booked the specific room type (queen bed with memory foam mattress) so, the mattress was very comfortable. The room quite clean and comes with the window. Bathroom is separate for shower room and toilet room.

A very nice and clean hotel, that is in a very convenient location. We booked last minute and they were very accommodating. I want to specifically appreciate Lili for her hospitality and fantastic service - allowing for a very smooth check in and check out process and making sure we are equipment with the ammenities needed!

Last minute booking cause we weren’t happy with the original hotel. No regrets at all! Should have stayed here from day 1 itself! Hotel is at The Bund itself, with a great view as soon as you step outside. Room is spacious and clean with all the amenities, and more than enough water from the start. Service staff is great, they allowed us to extend our checkout time. Hotel breakfast has a wide spread and the late night porridge was good. Would recommend this hotel for anyone who visits Shanghai!

I would like to commend the hotel and the reception staff. This trip was with a large family, including elderly and children. When booking the room, we requested a non-smoking room. One of the rooms we received had a smoke smell. The hotel changed the room for us by upgrading it to a larger room. The staff greeted us with smiles and took great care of us. Some staff members could speak English, which was quite impressive considering the price. The hotel is located in a very convenient area, making it easy to travel to Nanjing Shopping Street and Raffle City Mall. There are also restaurants and convenience stores nearby, making it very convenient. Highly recommend for family and group of friend who need to spend time together in same room

Location is very near the bund, but walking around 8min to east nanjing train station. Room design is a bit weird and less private with outside tub. Toilet has automatic water spray which is perfect for Asian traveller. Breakfast is nice.

The front desk was very helpful. They were welcoming and allowed me to check in early. I had some issues with my room due to a noisy sink, but the staff quickly switched me to a new room with no issues. The spaces were clean and the hotel is in a great location. Would stay again.

It was a great experience in Shanghai puyan hotel. The hotel is really close from the nanjingdonglu train station, it's about 5 mins by walk. And the view of hotel is heading the dongfangmingzhu tower! Especially, the hotelier Shirley, she help us in the kindest manner! She helped us to change to a new room with great view when we check in, And at the end of stay, we lost something in our room, but she helped us to find the missing luggage! Room condition also great! Scent, water, bedding, everything. I recommend to visit in here!

This is my second time visiting Shanghai since my high school trip with a friend, and I highly recommend this hotel for its cleanliness and excellent service! 🥹 The only downside is that there are no windows, but honestly, I think most hotels in Shanghai don’t have them. The biggest advantage is that there’s no cigarette smell at all—huge plus! The hotel feels modern, and the design is absolutely beautiful. Thank you so much!
