"Honestly, 'The Street Where the Wind Dwells' B&B is the most comfortable and genuinely hospitable place I've ever stayed in Lijiang! The location is absolutely fantastic! It's nestled in a quiet alley right by the Old Town, just a few minutes' walk to all the lively spots, yet incredibly peaceful at night – you won't hear a peep. The rooms genuinely feel upscale! We booked the 'Stargazer Room', and through its huge glass window, you get panoramic views of the Old Town rooftops. At night, you can even see the stars – enjoying the night view while soaking in the tub was pure bliss. But the absolute highlight was the owner, Brother Ma – he's incredibly warm and genuine! The moment we arrived at the alley entrance, he jogged out from afar to help us with our luggage. As soon as we stepped inside, he offered us tea – not just out of politeness, but he genuinely chatted with us, sharing tips on authentic local restaurants and small pubs with a great vibe. Even when we came back late at night, we'd often find him in the courtyard, chatting and having tea with other guests. It truly felt like coming home to family. On our departure day, he even gave us some of his homemade cherry wine, saying, ”Come back next time for another drink, and remember the wind of Lijiang!” His words truly warmed my heart. This B&B offers a much more authentic and enjoyable experience than a typical hotel. If I ever return to Lijiang, I'll definitely be staying at 'The Street Where the Wind Dwells' again!"

"The location of the B&B is very good, right in the ancient city. The room is very clean, large and spacious, which is very rare. You can add an extra bed. The rooms in other B&Bs in the ancient city are very small. The owner and the proprietress are very nice and welcoming. There is a platform for taking photos and checking in on the roof of the B&B. You can see the whole ancient city. The scenery is very good! Very good treasure B&B"

"My wife and I visited Lijiang for the first time, and our stay at this place truly enhanced our trip. The location is incredibly convenient for exploring the Old Town. The panoramic views overlooking the Old Town are simply breathtaking. In the evenings, after a stroll back from the bar street, we'd sit on the viewing platform for a bit, enjoying a beer with my wife and watching the city lights twinkle below. While the music from the bar street can be quite lively, you won't hear a thing once you're inside your room (personally verified in Room 216!). Breakfast is provided. On our check-out day, I spent a blissful hour and a half enjoying breakfast on the viewing platform, just completely lost in thought. The photos I've shared were taken during that time. And now, for the most important part! If you're visiting for the first time, definitely contact the owner beforehand. They'll help with your luggage and even pick you up at the main road to ensure you don't get lost. These aren't amenities you'd necessarily expect, but the owner thoughtfully arranged them all. The owner also recommended and arranged an Ancient Tea Horse Road tour, which was fantastic! It included round-trip transfers, and the owner even personally took us to the pick-up point – I honestly wouldn't have found the meeting point without him. He also helped us book a shared shuttle to Lugu Lake. There are so many other thoughtful details, but I won't list them all here. Seriously, just add him on WeChat!"

"This is excellent chinese traditional hotel for people who want to see the top of view of Lijiang old town. The hotel is beautiful and the amenities are high quality. The hotel is located a little bit on the mountain closed to large water wheel the landmark of Lijiang oldtown. The breakfast we had was special noodle yunnan food which was different than normal buffet we had in other hotel. Mostly of hotel staff can speak english well and warmly welcome especially from Mr.Jimmy. I’m very impressed that the hotel helped us took our luggage up to the hotel when we had a Jade Dragon Snow one day tour and sent us to railway station after checking out. I will be returning guest in the future for sure. Thanks for the experience and make me feel like I’m in the chinese movie who feel and touch the environment in the past."

"The staff were helpful and friendly, but the hotel is in serious need of renovation. The photos online are outdated and don’t match the actual rooms. In my room, the wardrobe was blocked by the bed, so I couldn’t use it. There was no real space to unpack, just a small portable hanger. I was relieved to stay only two nights. The balcony is covered, which should be clearly mentioned in the description. The kitchenette was very small with only a kettle and two paper cups — not really usable. The fridge was tiny, unplugged when I arrived, and didn’t cool properly. The bathroom was cramped, with no space to hang towels or set down toiletries. There was no hand soap or small towels. The shower area had a warming light and towel hooks, but once used, everything stayed wet. Basic toiletries like body wash, shampoo, and conditioner were provided. The hotel has great potential. The location is excellent, the staff are wonderful, and the courtyard and large villa are nice features. However, I’d only recommend staying here after the facilities have been upgraded. The note is down a steep sets of stairs. The staff came to meet us at the top and help with our luggage when we arrived and when we left."

The highlight was definitely waking up to the stunning mountain views each morning — absolutely unforgettable. "The weather in Lijiang is absolutely perfect; I never wanted to leave! It was so pleasant chatting with the owner, and I really admired their carefree and natural way of life. Lijiang is definitely a place I'll return to. Mitu Inn is newly renovated with excellent facilities. Unlike other places where the hot water was inconsistent (either too hot or too cold), Mitu Inn has constant hot water, which is a fantastic feature. Enjoying tea and conversation there was simply wonderful."

"The longest time I stayed in Lijiang was 8 consecutive days. Compared with the ancient city, Shuhe Ancient Town is less commercialized, and the relatively literary Baisha Ancient Town has more choices, achieving a perfect balance in terms of location and cost-effectiveness. The front desk staff provided very good service, helping with luggage, cleaning and replenishing the room every day, and preparing a variety of breakfasts. It feels rustic and quiet, perfect for quiet writing or working. Hot water is guaranteed and the bedding is comfortable. If there is a disadvantage, it is that there is only one room card, so charging is not very convenient; also, the room may be a bit cold on rainy days due to its large depth. But overall the summer is still very comfortable, and you can see the Jade Dragon Snow Mountain on a sunny day. The room design is also very peaceful, maintaining the ethnic style of the Naxi people, especially the small attic on the top of the mountain, which is the most suitable place for writing. Five-star praise for service, hygiene, and perfect location!"

"This guesthouse in Lijiang was a hidden gem, offering an incredibly relaxing and rejuvenating stay that completely exceeded all our expectations! The hosts were incredibly warm and welcoming. As soon as we arrived, they helped us with our luggage, brewed local Pu'er tea for us, and shared many insider tips on less crowded routes, helping us avoid the typical tourist traps. Our room was spotlessly clean, with a subtle, pleasant scent of wood from the furniture. Opening the window, we had a lovely view of the bougainvillea and flagstone path in the courtyard. Waking up to the sound of birdsong in the morning was simply delightful. The bathroom had excellent wet/dry separation and plenty of hot water. After a refreshing shower, curling up by the window with a cup of tea and enjoying the view was the perfect embodiment of the slow living we'd always dreamed of. The location was also incredibly convenient, just a few minutes' walk from the heart of the ancient town. We felt very safe returning to the guesthouse after enjoying the night scenery. Plus, they offered complimentary laundry service – truly attentive to every detail! We'll definitely choose this place again on our next trip to Lijiang!"
