AggieThe room was very clean, and the host was super friendly and helpful with luggage. There's also a Samoyed named Mitsu who is incredibly friendly; my kids absolutely adored her and couldn't bear to leave. The dog was very clean and well-behaved. Overall, the guesthouse was very quiet.

Guest UserI used to stay in hotels, but this time, wanting to better experience the local culture in Lijiang Old Town, I chose a guesthouse. From the moment we checked in, the owner, like a friend, brewed us tea and offered us flower cakes and dried beef. As soon as we entered our room, the daily afternoon tea set arrived: tiramisu tarts made with real cream, fresh and crisp strawberries and blueberries, and freshly cut cantaloupe and watermelon. I'm very sensitive to smells, and the room's air freshener and toiletries had a scent similar to Le Labo, which was lovely. The room offered great views of the snow-capped mountains. The guesthouse's location on the main street was perfect – lively but quiet. Even as a light sleeper, I was never disturbed by the street noise. Whenever I stayed elsewhere in Yunnan, I unconsciously compared it to this place. This guesthouse is truly my 'white moonlight' in Yunnan, and I'll never consider another option when I come to Lijiang again. Many thanks to the manager for the pick-up, help with luggage, and recommendations for various local specialty restaurants, and to the owner for her warm hospitality and sophisticated taste. The guesthouse serves breakfast; the auntie's rice noodles were generously topped, and the owner's cat, Aobai, is both cute and sassy :)

KKaveelocation, view, and friendly staff, no language barriers!
located on the hill within the old town, close to the butsling walking street, but a lot quieter.
the room is facing the Jade Dragon Mountain. Unfortunately, it’s rainy season, so I cannot enjoy the golden lid view. but rainy and foggy days created amazing vibes there.
the staff there are super supportive, calm and assist us with everything. we had our pick-up service arranged and it’s smooth. I love the warm welcome Hong Cha and Rose pastry. I tried a lots after that and it’s the best so far. I was there with my mom 60ish yr. she’s happy with it and forget about climbing 4 stories to reach our room.
the room looks exactly like the photos on booking platform.
we used wechat and translation app to overcome language barriers, and we truly have a memorable stay!

This hotel was recommended by a friend, and after actually staying there, I was truly blown away. I rarely, if ever, review hotels, but I wholeheartedly recommend this one.
**Service:** As soon as I booked, a concierge added me on WeChat, providing hotel information and activity arrangements. They even arranged a business car for airport pickup. The service, from check-in to check-out, was incredibly attentive. One night, I felt unwell in the middle of the night and thought everyone would be off duty, but after I mentioned it in the group chat, they immediately brought me an oxygen tank.
**Environment:** The hotel is located at the foot of a snowy mountain, right at the entrance of Yuhu Village, offering first-class scenery. The hotel provides shuttle services to the village whenever needed.
**Food:** The cured pork ribs and free-range chicken hotpot included in the hotel package was absolutely delicious – far better than the restaurants at InterContinental or Aman. Although the breakfast selection wasn't extensive, it was exquisite, and I really enjoyed that style of breakfast. There's an all-day self-service bar with drinks and fruits, and the fruits are all high quality, including my favorite passion fruit. There's also a very tasty afternoon tea, which can be enjoyed on the lawn if the weather is good.
**Activities:** During our stay, we participated in horseback riding and hiking to pick pinecones and mushrooms (the hotel doesn't allow guests to eat what they pick for safety reasons). The hiking scenery was beautiful, and even my seven-year-old child completed the entire trek.
In short, it was truly a perfect experience.

Guest UserThis was my first time in Lijiang, and after doing some research online, my friend and I decided to stay at this hotel.
The experience truly exceeded our expectations. The guesthouse is tucked away in the ancient city's alleys, offering a peaceful escape from the hustle and bustle, yet it's only a few minutes' walk to Sifang Street, meaning no long treks with luggage. It's a charming traditional courtyard, and sitting there, soaking up the sun and sipping tea, was incredibly relaxing. Our room was spotless, with an antique charm, and the bedding was soft and comfortable. It was exceptionally quiet at night.
The owner was incredibly thoughtful, meeting us at the alley entrance to help with our luggage. They also recommended authentic local food and less-traveled routes, helping us avoid many tourist traps.
The bathroom had a separate wet and dry area, plenty of hot water, and all the amenities we needed. It's a great location, with a quiet atmosphere and heartwarming service.
Plus, there are all sorts of cute little pets you can interact with and take photos of. I genuinely loved it here, and staying at this place in Lijiang Ancient City is definitely a no-brainer. I'll choose it again next time I visit!

Guest UserThis guesthouse is perfectly situated in the heart of the ancient town, just a few minutes' walk from the Grand Water Wheel and Sifang Street. Step outside and you're in the bustling market, but inside, it's a tranquil oasis – truly the best of both worlds. The Song-style courtyard, with its white walls, dark tiles, and wooden corridors, is picturesque and elegant, offering photo opportunities at every turn. The rooftop viewing terrace is the absolute highlight. From there, you can take in panoramic views of the ancient town's charming rooftops and even catch a glimpse of the majestic Jade Dragon Snow Mountain in the distance. The sunrise and nighttime views create an incredible atmosphere. I even got lucky enough to see a rainbow during my stay, which was a real treat!
The guest rooms are spotless and comfortable, with soft bedding that even includes lavender sachets. Modern amenities like a smart toilet and Dyson hairdryer are provided, showing great attention to detail and ensuring a peaceful night's sleep. The facilities were a wonderful surprise – they have everything: a sauna, KTV, billiards, card games, a coffee shop, and even a gym. The housekeeper was incredibly thoughtful and enthusiastic, handling luggage transfers and answering all my questions about local attractions with great care. I'll definitely be staying here again on my next trip to Lijiang!

Pauline's was easily one of the best hotels we stayed at during our trip to Yunnan. From the moment we arrived, the service was exceptional. The hotel manager was incredibly attentive and thoughtful throughout our stay. When we had an early morning trip planned to Jade Dragon Snow Mountain (Yulong Mountain), they even arranged a takeaway breakfast for us so we wouldn't miss out on our meal.
The hotel is located in the charming Yuhu Village, which turned out to be one of our favorite places in the region. Since the village has controlled vehicle access between 9 a.m. and 6 p.m., the hotel helped coordinate our license plate registration with the gatekeepers, making arrival completely hassle-free.
Yuhu Village itself is a destination worth experiencing. Horses and cars share the same narrow streets, giving the village a unique and authentic atmosphere. The village is filled with locally owned cafés, bakeries, and restaurants. One local restaurant we visited served vegetables and free-range chicken grown and raised by the owners themselves, making the meals feel especially fresh and authentic. We also loved the croissants from a nearby bakery and the burgers from a café down the road. The mountain views from many of these spots were simply beautiful.
The food at Pauline's was another highlight and never disappointed. We ended up having dinner there several times during our stay, enjoying both local dishes and Western options. Breakfast was hearty and satisfying, typically consisting of freshly prepared noodles or wontons accompanied by a selection of side dishes. Nighttime desserts were also provided and something to look forward to. Everything was well made and provided a great start/end to the day.
Because we were staying for an extended period, the hotel also arranged complimentary pickup and drop-off services from the train station, which was greatly appreciated. Compared to the more famous old towns, Yuhu felt cooler, quieter, and far less crowded. Didi rides were easy to arrange, although food deliveries could take a little longer due to the location. That said, we never felt the need to leave the village as it had everything we needed.
The rooms and facilities were modern, comfortable, and beautifully designed—every corner felt photo-worthy. We happened to visit during the rainy season, which was both a blessing and a curse. While the clouds and mist often obscured the mountain views, they also created a magical atmosphere and meant significantly fewer crowds.
Overall, Pauline's offers a perfect combination of warm hospitality, stylish accommodations, excellent food, and an unforgettable village experience. We would gladly stay here again and highly recommend it to anyone looking for a more authentic and peaceful alternative to the busier tourist areas around Lijiang.

This was my 12th visit to Lijiang, and this time I chose the Banyan Tree.
**The Bad:** The facilities are old and outdated. The doors on both the first and second floors are so old and worn out that they no longer close properly; you can only勉强 align them and use the chain lock. The shower water temperature fluctuates wildly, going from scalding hot to ice cold in an instant. The overall decor is dated, and the equipment is showing its age. The carpets, tables, and other furniture are all worn.
**The Good:** The excellent housekeeping auntie. She seemed to be a local ethnic minority, and she brought a small gift every day. She was honest and simple, and kept the room very clean. A definite thumbs up for her.
**The Good:** The outstanding hotel concierge, Elin Zhou. She was incredibly responsive and fulfilled every request promptly. The original pillows in the room were too soft to sleep on, and the concierge quickly sent someone to bring firmer pillows that same evening. She also arranged a complimentary airport transfer when we checked out. She messaged us daily during our stay to check in. Such an excellent employee – the hotel should definitely reward her.
**The Good:** Although the selection at the Chinese restaurant wasn't vast, the food quality was excellent. The stir-fried Naxi ******* pork was outstanding; I literally ate two plates of it.
**Overall:** The hotel offers great privacy, and the gardens are lovely. The exterior maintenance is commendable. However, it's a case of 'all that glitters is not gold' – the interior of the rooms desperately needs renovation and refurbishment. The internal facilities simply can't compare to other five-star hotels in Lijiang anymore. That unforgettable musty smell when you enter the room... ugh.

Guest UserThe staff was very nice and even picked us up from the street (the taxi cannot enter the old town, you have to walk for a bit, which is totally fine). The staff even helped us carry our luggage (see the picture).
They then greeted us with a selection of local tea and were very friendly. They also advised us on how to prepare for the Yulong Xueshan day trip, when to leave, etc. The room is very cute and their terrace has an amazing view. I would definitely stay there again.

Guest UserThis hotel's location is absolutely unbeatable! Situated right near Baisha Ancient Town and at the foot of Jade Dragon Snow Mountain, it boasts a prime, front-row view of the mountain. With unspoiled agricultural land in front, the panoramic views are completely unobstructed. You can soak in the majestic snow-capped peaks right from your room, and even witness the breathtaking 'Golden Mountain in the Sunlight' spectacle from your bed. The ambiance and viewing experience were incredible, making this the most delightful stay of our Lijiang trip.
The service was incredibly thoughtful and attentive. As we stayed for two nights, the hotel kindly arranged airport transfers, making everything seamless and stress-free. They also provided daily shuttle service to and from Baisha Ancient Town, which was super convenient for exploring and saved us the hassle of driving or finding taxis. Beyond that, the hotel offered immersive Naxi cultural experiences like tea pressing and 'Jiama' woodblock printing, which allowed us to truly delve into local customs and added so much richness and fun to our journey.
The staff were consistently warm and attentive throughout our stay. They greeted us cheerfully, patiently recommended local specialty foods and off-the-beaten-path routes, and all their suggestions were incredibly useful. During downtime, they'd even invite guests to gather downstairs for tea and a chat. Their genuine and heartfelt approach made us feel completely at ease and welcome, as if we were visiting our own backyard. Their meticulous care and concern were evident in every interaction, truly making us feel at home.
The guest rooms were spacious, and the amenities were comprehensive and well-equipped with everything you could need, ensuring a very comfortable stay. The combination of the unparalleled scenic views and outstanding soft and hard services far exceeded our expectations. Whether you're looking for a relaxing vacation or an immersive Lijiang experience, I highly recommend it. This will definitely be my top choice for accommodation on my next visit to Lijiang!
