Amazing
HHYUNSOOIt was nice that it wasn't so cold since I'd been there before. The room was in good condition and I had many good memories. However, I was bothered by the sound of footsteps, perhaps because there were a lot of guests checking out early in the morning or because the cleaning staff was so diligent.
GGuest UserThe property in nicely located near the ski slopes and with 5 min walk you can star your day skiing.
We are a bit disappointed on how the reservation has been managed by Trip.com we have been assigned 2 Executive Suites for two adults and one child of 12 years old when 1 room would have been more than enough to accommodate three guests! That’s shameful!
Room service end at 9:30 PM which in my opinion it’s a bit too early for a 5 star hotel like this one.
Also a bit ridiculous to ask for an ice bucket 5.000 KRW against the coat of 570.000 KRW of one room only!!
My sincere appreciation and gratitude to Mr.Koh the Concierge that has been extremely helpful and kind to us during the whole stay. Kudos to him!!!
GGuest UserThe view from the room was superb, directly overlooking the ski slopes. The hotel is centrally located in the town, with dining and skiing just steps away. We didn't opt for breakfast during our stay, as we purchased items from a convenience store in town, so I can't comment on the hotel's breakfast.
GGuest UserWe stayed at the Ramada while on a family ski trip to Mona Yongpyong Ski Resort. The hotel was very convenient and was a nice place to stay during our trip. Only really had two complaints about the experience. (1) We booked a family room that said it would accommodate up to 4 people (we have 4 in our family). However, they only provide bedding for 3 people, so you have to pay a nightly fee for bedding for the 4th person (didn't realize this until we checked in). If the room can accommodate up to 4 people, then bedding should be provided up to 4 people, especially when the hotel knew we had 4 people from the time of booking. (2) The breakfast is super convenient as there isn't much open/available in the area in the morning time. However, it is very expensive, so be prepared! Even with the hotel guest discount (10%) we still paid over 90,000 KRW each day for breakfast!
SSOOYEONThere was dust everywhere and hair in the bathroom, but the room was spacious and the bedding was clean, which was nice. I gave feedback because I almost got hurt due to a small issue, and I hope it is resolved well and I will visit again next time.
GGuest UserThe Kensington Hotel truly feels like it has a story. There's a unique charm that makes you want to spend your time within the hotel itself. I enjoyed limiting my outside sightseeing and instead staying in, whether strolling through the beautiful gardens or exploring the hotel's interior, which is wonderfully themed around Olympic history. I remember the Kensington Seorak being a bit inconvenient without a convenience store, so it was a pleasant surprise that the Pyeongchang hotel had one on-site. I'd definitely love to visit again if it snows.
NNaveedAdvantages
Conveniently situated
Generously sized accommodations
Impressive amenities
Perfect for family trips, this place offers all the amenities you need, just like an Airbnb. You'll find a cooker, pots and pans and cutlery readily available.
Conveniently located near a variety of dining options
Drawbacks
The staff had limited English proficiency, making communication quite challenging.
Upon our early arrival at around 11am, we found the reception area to be deserted. Along with other guests, we were left waiting at the counter, unsure of what to do. Finally, around 1pm, a receptionist appeared. However, rather than simply informing us that check-in was only possible after two, they made each guest wait in queue to deliver the same message. Upon returning to the reception at 2, we were informed that we had to wait an additional hour. This experience was quite unprofessional and made it challenging to enjoy other activities
GGuest UserIt was perfect for going to the ski resort, and there were restaurants and convenience stores nearby, so the location was good, and there was plenty of parking. However, there was only one hanger in the room, which was a little inconvenient. Still, I had a comfortable stay.
AAnonymous UserLiving in the Blue Tower Sky Suite was a great experience! We enjoyed a 4-day, 3-night stay with no delays during check-out. The suite is within a 5-minute walk to the ski house and about a 10-minute walk to the central plaza, where we could shop at the convenience store (open until midnight) and visit the game store to play with the kids. Our kids really loved both the day and night activities. However, driving in the snow required extra caution since the rental car had four-season tires but no chains. Overall, it was a wonderful and memorable trip!
JJONGYOUNGI stayed 10 nights because it was said to have fewer people and better resort facilities than other ski resorts. If possible, I recommend choosing a bed room instead of an ondol room. The ondol room's bedding set is really thin and the sleep is uncomfortable. The ski school classes are good, but the slope is too short and not fun. The laundry fee is too expensive, so it is better to take a taxi and use the coin laundry in the city (Hyeonggye-myeon).
