"A very representative and unique Jinshang Courtyard. The hotel is very close to the parking lot at the city gate, just a few minutes' walk away. It is on the main street of Xidajie, and next door is Rishengchang. It is very convenient for shopping and eating. Although it is on the main street, the courtyard is very quiet. Maybe the Jinshang Courtyard is like this. Living here is equivalent to living in the scenery. When you are tired of shopping, you can come back to drink tea and chat. It is very comfortable. There are many foreign guests staying here. They have been receiving foreign guests since 2013. It is a very international inn. You can get discounts for eating at Kangganji Hongwuji with their key cards. There is also a lady at the front desk who gave us a map when we checked in and explained in detail where the various attractions are. Where to recommend where to go is particularly detailed in Jinhua attractions. Every time we come back from outside, she will greet us with a smile. The whole courtyard is full of her busy figure. The proprietress is particularly gentle and attentive. Living in this paradise, away from the hustle and bustle, recharged, truly feels at home. Pingyao is famous, come to Pingyao again if you have the chance!"

"We arrived in the evening and it was raining a lot therefore we appreciated so much their free pick up from the train station to the hotel! The structure is simply beautiful and the owners are really kind. They gifted us of a local vinegar bottle, the rooms are simple but clean and the breakfast as well is nice. The position is strategic in the city centre of the old Pingyao. They allowed us to store our luggages on the day of the departure. We definitely recommend to stay here :)"

"We traveled as a family of five to Pingyao and stayed three nights at the Jinxuan hotel. The stay was an absolute delight, the hosts are extremely friendly and helpful with everything. They picked us up from the train station which made it very easy to find a place. Jinxuan it’s located in the very heart of Pingyao and everything is easy to reach on foot. The facilities are simple and clean, the rooms are located in a very quiet patio of one of the traditional houses in in Pingyao. We stayed in a duplex room that offered lots of space for a family. The breakfast is traditional Chinese and the hosts spoiled us on the last day with some homegrown corn and tomatoes. If you’re looking for an authentic experience, we can absolutely recommend this place. "

"I’ve been traveling in different countries and staying in different hotels across Europe and Asia for the past ~15 years. The Drama house hotel is among the few that made me want to sit down either at the lobby, or at the inner court, just to enjoy the atmosphere. The staff were also very friendly and helpful, assisting also with the pickup and drop off from the Pingyaogucheng station (not to be confused with the nearby station). Location is also superb. Definitely recommend the hotel as well as Pyngao."

"I compared many hotels online and chose this one. After placing my order, a housekeeper contacted me. The pick-up and drop-off service was fantastic. I didn't even have to carry my luggage; the front desk guy helped me along the way. Everyone else was incredibly welcoming, making it feel like home. The hotel's setting is an antique courtyard house, giving it a time-travel feel and a sense of history. The room amenities and cleanliness were excellent. Xiaodu turned off the lights and curtains, and the room also had an automatic toilet, a humidifier, and a small refrigerator (with free drinks). Breakfast was buffet-style with a wide variety, and the beef, bowl tray, and kuoluoluo were delicious. The location is just over 100 meters from Ming and Qing Street, making it very convenient for commuting. I'd definitely stay there again!"

"The owner and their family were incredibly kind, thoughtful, and attentive. After we took a taxi from the high-speed train station to the city gate, they drove a small electric cart to pick up our luggage (as passengers aren't allowed to ride inside the ancient city). Throughout our stay, they patiently answered any questions we had, many of which weren't even about the accommodation. When it was time to leave, concerned we might miss our train, they not only helped us with our luggage but also hailed a taxi, loaded our bags, and waited for us to get in. As we were traveling with two young children, the owner kept reminding us not to rush, saying that if we could catch the train, great, but if not, it was fine – safety was the priority! After we'd left, the owner even called us, timing it just right, to check on how we were doing. Although our stay in Pingyao was less than 24 hours, we were profoundly touched by their immense warmth. We'll definitely be back next time to truly soak in the experience!"

"As a native of Shanxi, I have to accompany friends from other places to Pingyao from time to time. Because the attractions in central Shanxi are relatively dense and not far away, there are few opportunities to stay in Pingyao Ancient City. This time, I happened to take my family to Pingyao for an impromptu family trip. Pingyao Ancient City has changed a lot in recent years. The battery cars are managed uniformly and everyone changes cars outside the city to enter the ancient city, so the overall walking atmosphere is very good. Taotang Hotel has a total of 10 rooms, each of which is very large. The overall hardware and software are very attentive, the traditional Shanxi courtyard design, and the butler-style service are comprehensively considered to be the highest-end hotel in Pingyao Ancient City. The hotel is located on the core main street. Because we brought children and large and small bags of luggage, the boss and the waiter personally picked us up throughout the journey, and the room also installed a child fence for the baby! Everything was done very carefully, and the food for the young baby was specially arranged in the kitchen without adding oil and salt! Thank you so much! Different from the professional service training and rhetoric of traditional hotels; the boss and staff are more like family members, they don’t say any polite words but take care of the guests’ needs anytime and anywhere. "Excellent location with a nice intro buffet dinner for local cuisine and breakfast included. Next to an important Taoist shrine and provision shops. Also within 5-10 min walk from the “New East Gate” which is important if you want to take a taxi for sights outside the walled city. Note outside vehicles are not allowed to get into the walled city. Extremely helpful staff and the high speed rail station to hotel transfer service is much appreciated especially since outside taxi cannot get into the hotel location. We speak mandarin and found the ancient city tour guides well worth the money. Look for the guides with the standardised purple windbreakers in winter. Standardised price but worth every cent. Glad my family took the detour to Ping Yao"

"I haven't lived in such a good homestay for a few years. I have to come and praise it. The hotel is at the north gate of the ancient town. The transportation is convenient. The hotel facilities are new. These are good hardware. The most important thing is that the boss service is too good. We didn't go out on the first day. The boss also helped us cook lunch. I also used a car to travel. I was afraid that we would not have a drink in the yard at night. I kept moving out of the store to eat. I was also responsible for introducing local food. The warm and thoughtful service was at home. It was great."
