Brunelleschi Hotel

9.5/10
Amazing

Hotel was charming and lovely with the most comfortable bed and pillows for a perfect night’s rest after a day of exploring. It came with all the room amenities one could possibly need (water and coffee pods were always replenished, toothbrushes and toothpaste were there even without us having to request etc) and there was AC - something less common in Italian hotels, it seems. Service was excellent. In particular, Sergio was extremely kind and helpful throughout our stay, especially when we had trouble navigating our car through the narrow streets of Florence with poor Google Maps directions. He got someone to help guide us to the hotel, before helping to valet park our car at a nearby garage. Sergio also took extra care to make sure our stay was wonderful, always offering to go the extra mile with a smile. The hotel location was also very convenient, with everything worth visiting/ seeing within 400-500m. Would 100% stay at this hotel again the next time we are back in Florence!

A Tuscan escape, private villa style experience, great service, very attentive and extremely pleasant staff, great breakfast, lunch and dinner, beautiful pool, landscape, views of hills and city of Florence. Need a car to be able to go anywhere, or be willing to be a bit adventurous and take a public bus that stops nearby on the highway and requires a bus change to go to Florence, but on the way back goes directly to the resort from Florence (you need to learn the name of your stop and tell the bus driver to stop there, as busses only stop if they see people waiting at the stop or if a ypassenger requires it). The busses run every 20-30 min according to the time schedule (you will be given it) and take about 10-15 min to get to and from Piazza dela Liberta in Florence (look it up on Google map). Taxis are always available, will cost about €30 per trip (10-15 min ride). Remember, this is a villa style resort outside of Florence. It was beautiful, we loved it.

The hotel is beautiful. Location is great for tourists - quiet but not far from destinations. However, on the day of our arrival, we were given a room with smaller-size bed and accessible bathroom, without checking with us if this arrangement was okay. We felt the bed was smaller in size right away and went back to front desk to ask if this was the room type we booked. The lady insisted it was a regular room with a king-size bed. Later that day we found the accessible bathroom was not easy to use as water flooded out easily. Also the room was next to the elevator so a bit noisy during nighttime. We asked front desk again, and luckily the gentleman at the front desk at nighttime agreed to change a room for us the next day. We then realized the room given to us on the second day was the actual room type we booked, with king-size bed, a regular bathroom, a larger window and a desk. We understood accessible rooms is regulatory requirement, but we did not book accessible room, and it should be checked with guests at check-in if giving a different room type other than guests’ booking is ok, and should be a clarified if guests specifically ask about the correct room type. We ended up staying in the smaller room on the first night and moved to the correct room type on the second night. Thanks to the front desk staff who helped us changing to the regular room.

- I booked the hotel and checked in quite suddenly, but the staff were very helpful. - The room size was spacious and appropriate. - The amenities were not complete; it would be better if there were a refrigerator or some basic kitchen equipment. - The elevator is quite small and can fit only one person with luggage at a time.

I made a wonderful memory. Good point. The location is great. The staff was also kind and nice stay. The antique furniture and decoration are wonderful. I'm sorry. There is no refrigerator. There are about 10 steps from the entrance to the elevator entrance.

Pros: great location, just a few steps from a few must see of the city. Cons:the noise of morning workers cleaning or making deliveries in the morning (7-8am) and tourist making their way through the alleys and streets to or from hotels, bar, etc. will carry to tour room... maybe disrupting your sleep. Also, if you're going to arrive after the reception closes it can get tricky or stressful as you have to reach out an on-call reception person (in my case it took 3 dials in to hear from them, I got delayed 20min. on the road and the person left and have to call again). The lock of my room and for the constant slamming of doors rooms seem to be a bit tricky to operate. Finally, the safe in my room was looked at my arrival, so I couldn't use it. Not the best value and wouldn't recommend it.

First of all the staff was friendly and the breakfast was good as well. But the hotel is a bit old, and the room layout felt quite awkward. The space was very limited, and I could barely fit my luggage comfortably. The bathroom window was also broken and could not be closed, which was inconvenient and made the stay less comfortable. Overall, the hotel may be acceptable for a short stay, but the room condition and layout definitely need improvement.

Very friendly and in a good location. A lot of minibar inclusions. Just don't waste your time going for the breakfast option, because you get a voucher for a croissant and a coffee in a place walking distance from the accommodation.

I stayed at two hotels in Florence, and this one was a standard, convenient hotel. However, the room was too small, and the breakfast was very mediocre. I'd recommend the other guesthouse more, comparatively. Both are within a five-minute walk from the train station. The pros are the excellent location, right next to a small square opposite the train station, so I never felt unsafe coming back late. It's also very close to all the attractions; just turn right out of the door and walk down the alley to find the Central Market and the Duomo. There's even a Chinese restaurant and a bubble tea shop downstairs.

The room is dingy and uninviting. There's mold on the bathroom ceiling. The bed isn't a double bed; it's single beds of varying firmness pushed together. It's completely uncomfortable to sleep. The reception staff was friendly and they packed a to-go breakfast for our early checkout. The sights are a 15-minute tram ride away, and the tram stop is a 5-minute walk from the hotel.
