"The room wasn't as small as some reviews made it out to be. You have to remember it's a hotel that occupies one floor per building. If you're just staying for one night, it's a decent option."

Hotel near Ximending Commercial Area,Taipei
"Located in a bit of a secluded spot, it's a 5-minute walk to Ximending Pedestrian Area. The hotel occupies just one floor, the 10th, and the floor itself feels a bit dated. I'd estimate there are only about 22 rooms. It seems to be a converted residential apartment, and the partitions are like plasterboard, so the soundproofing isn't great. Luckily, being on the 10th floor, you can barely hear the street noise, so it's still quite peaceful. There's a convenience store right around the corner from the elevator, and to the left, you'll find Liang Shan Po Xiao Long Bao, which opens at 10 AM and usually has a queue. Personally, I didn't find the taste particularly great. I think the handmade buns and xiao long bao further down on the right, on the same row as 7-Eleven, are much better. Across the street, Chen's Vermicelli has an oyster vermicelli that's absolutely delicious, even better than A Zong's pig intestine vermicelli."

"The location is fantastic, right near Pingkang Street. It's close to Dongmen MRT station, just a 3-minute walk away, and there's a Family Mart and 7-Eleven nearby. The room was okay, but there wasn't enough space around the sink in the bathroom to put things. And the soundproofing was pretty poor 🥲, luckily the next-door neighbors went to bed early. The lighting wasn't great, especially near the entrance, which made it hard to do makeup and hair 🤷🏻♂️"

Hotel near Ximending Commercial Area,Taipei
"This place is located inside a tiny laneway, but quite easy to find. It's very close to Ximen MRT so definitely a big plus. The room is very clean and new, but space is very tight - If you have more than one bag pack of stuff, I'd say it would be too tiny for you. Sound insulation also not the best as you can hear chatters in the hallway and some construction noises going on nearby in the morning. I'm quite insensitive to noises so I still had a very good night sleep. I would definitely come back here again if I am traveling solo."

"The room was great, clean and tidy, and very smart. Plus, the panoramic window really added to the experience! The whole hotel has a nice design aesthetic, though it's a bit on the dark side, haha. In the morning, I ran into the cleaning staff and they were super friendly, greeting me warmly. However, the front desk staff member I encountered during check-in was quite cold... She seemed uninterested and gave a rather poor impression. And even though I specifically requested not to be placed in an end-of-hall or corner room, I was given an end-of-hall room anyway... Ugh. I would have been even more satisfied if I hadn't been put in that room."

Hotel near Zhongxiao Dunhua Commercial Area,Taipei
Hotel Uketamo is Taiwan’s first wellness-focused healing hotel and the fifth original brand created by the Forte Hotel Group. The name “Uketamo” is a phonetic adaptation of the core philosophy of Japanese Yamabushi Shugendō — “Uketamo (承もう),” meaning “to accept everything.” This idea resonates deeply with Laozi and Zhuangzi’s principle of “going with nature,” as well as Nietzsche’s concept of Amor Fati — the love of one’s fate. By embracing every aspect of life, Uketamo, when read in reverse, echoes the idea of awakening — a moment of clarity where one lets go, settles into mindfulness, and attains inner calm. Only with such clarity can the best decisions truly be made.

"The hotel's location is incredibly convenient, right across from Far Eastern Sogo and MRT Zhongxiao Fuxing Station Exit 2. There's also a FamilyMart nearby. The room was very spacious; even with two large suitcases fully open, there was still plenty of room to move around. All the hotel staff provided excellent service – they were very friendly and polite. I will definitely choose to stay here again on my next trip to Taiwan."

Hotel near Taipei Railway Station Area,Taipei
"The best thing about this hotel is its location; it's right next to the MRT station, very easy to find, and there's a 7-Eleven downstairs, which is very convenient. The main issue with the rooms is the toilet; it smells like a drain, but closing the door and turning on the exhaust fan solves the problem. Everything else is satisfactory. There's no 24-hour front desk service, and retrieving luggage after storing it is a bit difficult because you need a key card to access your floor."

"This was my first time staying at this hostel. Its location right by the Ximending MRT exit makes it incredibly convenient to get to Ximending, so the location gets a big thumbs up! The woody decor creates a very comfortable atmosphere. I stayed in a mixed-dorm bed this time, and even though it was just a small bed, it was incredibly comfortable. I usually don't sleep well, but I slept soundly for all three nights. The pillows, sheets, and all the little details were perfectly taken care of. The common area even has ice cream and massage chairs, which is a great bonus! 👍 I'd definitely consider staying at this hostel again if I have the chance."
