"Fantastic hotel! I thoroughly enjoyed my stay here during my trip to Taipei. A fun little bonus was being able to grab candy from the snack shop next door every day. The room was really smart, and I loved having a square bathtub and bath salts. Highly recommend!"

Hotel near Beitou Hot Spring Area,Taipei
The hotel is located in the Beitou area, and is designed in the spirit of the Lanting preface, "The Flow of Water", with "Taisho Romance" as the main axis. The hotel is equipped with a white sulfur hot spring suite, a Nikkei hot spring bath, a wine cafe "Musk" and a "Traveler's Study" focusing on food, travel and video.

"I booked this hotel just a few days before our trip, and by then, hot spring inns were scarce and quite expensive. We settled on this one due to its proximity to Thermal Valley. A major inconvenience was the lack of a shuttle service; families with young children, like ours, had to take taxis both up and down the hill, which was quite troublesome. There's no elevator, and I was worried about lugging our suitcases upstairs, but thankfully our family room was on the ground floor. On the positive side, the bathroom was very spacious with a separate soaking tub, and it felt cleaner and more spotless than other hotels in the area. However, the room lighting was poor, making it very dim. The room itself was tiny; once our luggage was open, there was no space left to move around. Another issue was the insufficient number of power outlets. We had to unplug the mini-fridge just to use the electric kettle to prepare milk for our child. We definitely won't be considering this place for our next trip."

"Overall, my stay was very satisfying. The hotel's location is excellent, with convenient transportation and a well-developed surrounding area. What impressed me most was the room's view – Taipei 101 was clearly visible from the window, offering different beauty both day and night. Especially when the lights came on at night, the entire city's atmosphere was captivating, giving a relaxing and therapeutic feeling. The room itself was clean and tidy, with efficient use of space. The bedding was comfortable, and the soundproofing was good, ensuring a restful sleep. The bathroom facilities were complete, with stable hot water, and the overall hygiene was reassuring. The hotel staff were friendly, making check-in and check-out very smooth, and any issues were promptly addressed. Additionally, there are many restaurants and convenience stores around the hotel, making daily life very convenient. It's suitable for both short trips and slightly longer stays. If you're visiting Taipei, especially looking for accommodation with a city view and good value for money, this hotel is a worthwhile option to consider. Overall, it was a comfortable and memorable stay."

CChinaJungI like to come there when im in Taipei. Its a good hotel and generous sized rooms. Also I need say thank you for the great check in. I arrived a bit early and could check in earlier to make fresh (unfortunately I forgot the ladies name). The Japanese room service breakfast was also decent and fast delivered. I know all need sustainable at this time, but it would be more convenient if there are shaving kit and a toothbrush in the room or the front desk would ask upon check in, if need.

HHoward Y ZIs this a good hotel? Yes, but it's also lacking in many aspects. It leaves a bad impression on returning guests. My last stay was a very unpleasant experience, and I believe most guests wouldn't return a second time, but I'm a loyal customer and a member. Last time, the housekeeping supervisor sincerely apologized, followed up multiple times, and promised to earn my trust, asking for another chance. That's why I stayed here again. ”Today's sword doesn't slay yesterday's man” – the room upgrade or suite promised by the previous supervisor, Ms. Chen, was naturally nonexistent (I later found out she had already left). Even the welcome fruit, welcome drink, and complimentary gift that were previously offered were all omitted. The treatment was worse than my first stay. Turndown service wasn't provided, making me wonder if I was at an economy hotel. At least I'm a senior member of this group, not the highest tier, but I feel misled. Even if the guest booked a standard room this time, the treatment shouldn't be so drastically different from the previous suite stay. This hotel seems dedicated to transforming itself into an economy hotel. For example, they don't provide toothbrushes, bath salts, or mouthwash. The room decorations are paper flowers. Their official app offered an option to request a toothbrush. I clicked it in the afternoon and received a system confirmation, but it was never delivered to my room, nor was I informed by phone that they couldn't provide it. After searching the entire room in the middle of the night and finding none, I finally learned they don't provide toothbrushes. One phrase stuck with me: ”You won't find a single toothbrush in any hotel in Taipei right now.” After checking out here, I went to Villa 32, and they provided one proactively without any excuses. When I called their on-duty staff to inquire, all I received were endless complaints about their mayor and policies. When I mentioned my vocal cords were damaged and I couldn't talk on the phone for long, he interrupted me and continued to ramble on. They seem to lack a complete management system and service process. I called in the afternoon to request two tea bags, but they weren't delivered that day. The next morning, I called again, and they said ”shortly,” but the service was never completed by check-out time. I mentioned this incident when I stored my luggage at the concierge, and they confidently told me they would give me the tea bags when I picked up my luggage. Predictably, their promise remained empty. They shouldn't have promised anything at all. There probably won't be a next time. Because this time was even worse than the last.

GGuest UserWe stayed on the executive floor, one-bedroom suite with lounge access and were extremely disappointed by the service quality. Housekeeping was far below 5‑star standards — our bedsheets were never changed once during our 6‑day stay, and even the daily bed‑making was sloppy and careless. The executive lounge experience was equally poor. We stood at the counter waiting to be checked in while three staff members were present. Only one was serving a western guest; the other two completely ignored us. After waiting several minutes with a toddler, we walked in to find a seat first. A staff member then approached us impatiently, telling us we “should have waited outside,” despite the fact that they had ignored us the entire time. The attitude was unprofessional and unwelcoming. For a hotel that markets itself as 5‑star and charges premium rates, the service and attention to detail were nowhere near acceptable.

Mmimi0513Let's start with the positives: The doorman, lobby manager, and front desk staff were all very professional, living up to the reputation of a renowned international hotel. The room was spacious, bright, and clean. Now for the negatives: It lacks grandeur. The lobby entrance is too narrow, making it feel like a busy market when crowded. The facilities are mediocre. The bidet toilet was installed too high; even at 172cm, my feet couldn't touch the ground when seated. The TV was incredibly small, disproportionate to the room size. The most frustrating issue was the poor soundproofing. The guests next door in room 1225 were speaking English, and perhaps they couldn't control their volume, but I could hear their conversations clearly, which was very loud and disturbing. This was extremely disappointing. Due to construction, the Ferris wheel was almost completely obscured. This isn't the hotel's fault, but rather an objective circumstance.

LLena小姊姊I stayed at Hotel Royal Beitou for three days for a health check-up. The room was large and spacious, which made for a very relaxing stay, and the in-room hot spring was also very comfortable. I had breakfast, afternoon tea, and dinner there, and the overall quality was good with consistent flavors. The hotel activities were a great bonus too! I participated in a DIY workshop, a myofascial release class, and an evening tour of Beitou to learn about the local culture. I also visited the public hot spring, which was clean and had a comfortable atmosphere. This trip really ticked all the boxes for 'rest, relaxation, and rejuvenation.' It was a pretty good experience.

JJD 508This trip exceeded all our expectations! The staff were incredibly welcoming and helpful during check-in. When they learned it was our anniversary, they even upgraded us to a Maple Forest Room and surprised us with a lovely small cake in the evening, which made my wife very happy. The hot spring quality and facilities were top-notch. Although the water filter in the indoor water dispenser needed replacing, the staff quickly provided bottled mineral water. Overall, the minor flaw didn't detract from the experience. Highly recommended!

GGuest User1. Misleading Entrance Signage Upon arrival, we followed the signage pasted on a pillar that directed guests to a staircase entrance. However, when we reached that entrance, we were shocked to find the door marked with the sign “来宾止步” (“Guests Stop Here”). When we raised this with your staff, we were told that this entrance has not been in use since the COVID-19 period. While we understand that certain operations may have changed during the pandemic, COVID-19 restrictions have ended for more than two years. If the primary entrance has been permanently closed, why has no corrective action been taken and the misleading signage still left there? Carrying heavy luggage up and down a sloped path unnecessarily was frustrating and avoidable. 2. No Staff Assistance or Clear Signage at the New Entrance When we finally located the new entrance, there were no staff members on standby to assist us, nor was there any clear external signage indicating that this was the correct way to access the lobby. The explanation given later was that all staff were away assisting with parking which is not acceptable. At least one person should have been assigned to remain at the entrance, or the last person leaving should have arranged for another colleague to cover the position. In addition, the Operations Director mentioned that there is signage inside the new entrance directing guests to take the elevator to the lobby. However, this logic is flawed. If guests cannot locate the correct entrance in the first place, how could they possibly see a sign placed inside? 3. Poorly Trained and Unprofessional Front Desk Behavior After struggling outside, we called the number listed on Google. Only then did someone finally come out and lead us in. By that time, we were exhausted and upset. When we confronted the front desk staff about why they ignored us, despite us clearly visible outside the “来宾止步” glass door, making eye contact and knocking for help, but they claimed they “did not see us.” This excuse was clearly untrue, as we observed them looking in our direction. Even more disappointing, none of the front desk staff offered an apology even until we requested to speak to the Operations Director and asked him to review the CCTV footage. After reviewing the footage, the Operations Director confirmed that the front desk had not been alert and apologized on their behalf. However, he did not acknowledge that the front desk’s attitude and lack of sincerity were also serious problems. Being “not alert enough” and showing no sense of apology or empathy are two entirely different issues. As an international hotel, the front desk is the first impression of your service. Regardless of the quality of your facilities, this poor experience completely overshadowed the positive aspects of our stay. It also severely damages the reputation of Kagaya Group — a brand that has long been admired for its exemplary Japanese hospitality and politeness. Although we appreciate the Operations Director’s effort to make amends by offering us a meal and gifts (which we declined), it remains undeniable that this incident reflects a failure in staff training and management oversight. We hope that management will seriously review this incident, especially the issues of: - Inadequate and misleading signage at the entrance - Lack of staff presence and assistance upon guest arrival - Poor front desk awareness and unprofessional behavior We trust that Kagaya Group will uphold its proud tradition of service by addressing these problems promptly and ensuring no other guests experience such treatment in the future. Thank you for your attention.

JJLun3388Sweetme Hotspring Resort is a fantastic place to unwind and recharge. The location is excellent, just a few minutes’ walk from Xinbeitou Station and conveniently close to many restaurants. One of the highlights of the stay was the spa experience. Guests can enjoy both the private in-room hot spring and the public spa facilities. The room was clean, spacious, and thoughtfully designed for comfort. Breakfast was another strong point, with a good selection of food to start the day right. Overall, Sweetme Hotspring Resort delivers a well-rounded experience with great amenities, a prime location, and a relaxing atmosphere. I will definitely come back again.

Yyh.sgThe location of the Hotel isn't that convenient to go to, so it's recommend to look at their shuttle bus timing or simply book an Uber to ride up the hill. Each room that you book also comes with a 1x free visit to the outdoor Spa facilities so I highly suggest you to bring a swim wear to go as it's pretty good even at night time. As for the room it's spacious like other reviews photos have shown but not a lot of people have shown the bathroom/toilet so I'm including it here. It's a very spacious Toilet with the bathtub that has the Onsen water, and the shower head beside the bathtub.
