"It is the second time I stayed in Tokyo Inn. It is always in front of the train station at the best locations in various cities. It has everything you need - I particularly like that there is a bathtub no matter what the size of the room is.
Breakfast is wholesome. Check in and check out is easy. Great experience."
"I was happy with breakfast and welcome drinks.
Women don't have to say if they have a large bath.
However, it is a pity that I could hear footsteps several times from above in the middle of the night and couldn't sleep well.
Thank you."
"Location is excellent. There's direct link bridge between the hotel and the Nagano station. So it's very easy to get to the train station with our luggage. We only stayed one night and Nagano is only our transit stop to other attractions. So we didn't manage to see much in Nagano. But we did notice that there are lots of shops and restaurants within walking distance. Staffs are friendly but some don't speak much English."
"They have a pocketgo so translating to your own language is hassle-free. Also the staff were very accommodating.
The food was sooooo good. めちゃくちゃ美味しかった!
And the room I was in overlooked the beautiful mountains so every morning was bliss!"
"Room was extremely worth it's pricing with the cleanliness and you could feel the exquisiteness of the hotel from entering through the main doors all the way to your room.
Walking distance to multiple interesting areas such as Zenkoji Temple and very pretty eateries around the area.
1 extremely disturbing thing was whereby 1 of the huge mirrors by the make up table was right infront of our beds which made my family and I have a paranoid night stay. Other wise everything was top tier!"
"Great place to stay! Perfect location and convenient to have food and very near to the station. The bunk bed is also comfortable and perfect for solo travelers. Friendly for ladies too with ladies-only shower room in dormitory."
"1) Location: Get off at Zhongshe and walk about 3-400 meters. You can reach it in a straight line.
2) Hotel: Decorated in the 1980s-1990s, there is no heating in the corridor, but there is heating in the room, and the temperature is suitable. There is no bathing in the hotel. The hot spring is in a large covered tub. There is no heating in the shower room and toilet.
3) Meals: You can order them at the hotel. The boss’s skills are pretty good and delicious, but not very cheap.
[Five-star recommendation] Try to avoid bringing a trolley suitcase in winter. The road is too difficult to walk. It is uphill to get to the hotel. I arrived at night and fell a few times. It was too painful."
"My recent stay at Hotel JAL City Nagano was a pleasant experience. The hotel is remarkably clean, which was a top priority for me. The rooms were spacious and well-appointed, ensuring a comfortable stay.
The hotel's location is another major highlight. It's just a short walk from Nagano Station, making it easily accessible for travelers arriving by train. The surrounding area is also bustling with shops, restaurants, and cafes, providing plenty of options for dining and entertainment. Several popular attractions, such as Zenkoji Temple and the Tokugawa Garden, are also within walking distance, making it easy to explore the city's cultural and historical sites.
While the hotel offers basic amenities, it's the cleanliness and convenient location that truly make it stand out. If you're looking for a clean and comfortable hotel in Nagano with easy access to major attractions, Hotel JAL City Nagano is a great choice."
"Great location, within 5-10 minutes walk from Nagano Train Station. Good amenities and service provided by the hotel. Friendly and professional hotel staff. Laundry room has 3 washing machines and 3 dryers that work well. Reception staff can provide change of 100yen coins for the laundry machines."

Amazing
GGuest UserThe hotel has an excellent location, very close to the JR station and within easy walking distance. The room size was quite good – definitely not small for this trip – and the shower area was spacious. But the real standout feature was the onsen (hot spring); after a soak, I felt completely relaxed and my whole body felt incredibly comfortable!
DDeasyTPerfect location, it is located just opposite Nagano station, bus and train are easy to get. Lots of eateries around hotel. Friendly staff that greet you everytime you walk pass their table. Great breakfast to charge your day. Good amenities. The bedroom size is also good. Downside is the hotel doesn't have a public bath.
OO.K. MACGreat location—loved having a Lawson right downstairs!
I didn’t realize Big Echo was on the 4th floor; otherwise, I would’ve planned to go for karaoke. But I already had a movie scheduled, so there wasn’t enough time.
The view was exactly what I was hoping for. I really enjoy staying in places with windows that offer such a nice view.
The only downside was the washing machine. It was quite slow and required coins. I even had to buy drinks from the vending machine just to get enough 100-yen coins for laundry.
I guess this kind of old-style machine is still common in Japanese hotels. Unlike the newer machines in China and Thailand that only take about 30 minutes to wash and another 20–30 minutes to dry (with separate machines), this one took significantly longer.
Overall, it was a good stay. I slept really well—even overslept a bit! Probably because I had spent the whole day snowboarding and was completely exhausted.
11351596****The hotel facilities are convenient, the room is comfortable. The location is close to JR Nagano station, but a little bit far from the transportation hub in front of JR Nagano station. Because of this, the hotel is relatively quiet. The staff are very friendly.
AAyu RayonI enjoyed stay in here. The room is spacious, amenities all complete, provided at the front desk and take what's you need. Location, in front of the Nagano station, after east exit, and 7/11 just next to it.
1 thing make me not give the perfect score, the room have some unpleasant odour that I couldn't remove. I turn on the humidifier, spray air refreshner but still it won't disappear. Except for that, everything is good
GGuest UserReally like this hotel especially the little onsen provided on 2nd floor. Good location and easy check in and check out. Worth to return again. In the middle of all attractions. Visited nagano chrismas market.
AAnonymous UserWe had a lovely stay here. The view from the room was very nice. The free snacks and drinks every evening was a really nice touch and a great way to end the day. The room was comfortable and spacious. There is not much happening in the area and taxis around were quite expensive, however they did have a free shuttle bus from the hotel.
WWei LeThis place is ~5mins walk from Zenkoji temple. neighborhood is peaceful at night.
Shoes to be removed outside the accommodation. Rooms are on the 2nd floor so you'll have to carry your luggage up (there's no lift).
Room (with window) is huge. You'll have to head downstairs to use the shared toilet and shared onsen (no toilet inside the room).
We were only allowed 30mins of onsen time for 2 pax - couples weren't allowed to use the onsen concurrently so we had to go one after another (i'm not sure if the instructions got lost in translation..). Felt very rushed so i didnt really get to enjoy the onsen experience, but overall was nice and clean.
Interesting 6.30am tour around the area and within the temple itself, followed by a simple vegetarian breakfast (porridge with omakase-styled sides with miso soup) back at the accommodation. The morning tour lasted from 6.30am - 8.30am.
The accommodation provided a fleece blanket to each pax to bring to Zenkoji temple to keep us warm during the morning praying ceremony. We went on 30 Dec and it was SO COLD.
Overall interesting experience but accommodation price is pretty steep IMO.
KKs TamThe location is great and it is well maintained. I stayed in the 4 beds female dorm, it was spacious. The bed was big with a little desk at one side of the bed for organising personal items. Each bed has their own charging pod. There are some limitations though: the lift can't be used so suitcases are moved up via staircase. I have to go down to the 2nd floor for the bathroom and toilet. I am not sure how many people are sharing them but I never need to wait an they are clean.
AAnonymous UserThe room was very nice - sufficiently large and with all necessary amenities (even a small fridge). The room was clean and in good condition. The staff was very kind and stored my luggage for free, as I arrived early in the morning. The hotel is conveniently located, yet in a rather quiet place. It's a walking distance from both Nagano station and Zenkoji temple (approximately 20-25 minutes), however, do note that the nearest bus stop is about 900 meters away, so if you got a lot of luggage and do not intend to get a taxi, that may be a bit far. They also have coin operated washing machines and dryers, in case you need them. Overall, a great option for most travelers, especially in terms of value for money.
