"I absolutely, absolutely, absolutely loved this hotel! First off, the location is unbeatable – it's right in the building opposite Nagano Station, literally a one or two-minute walk away. This makes catching trains, buses, and everything else super convenient. There's a Lawson convenience store on the first floor, and plenty of restaurants nearby, so the location couldn't be better. Next, the hotel room itself was a good size; I could fully open my suitcase, and the environment was very clean. I especially loved the window view from the room – you could see the surrounding mountains, and even get a glimpse of Zenko-ji Temple and its approach road from a distance. Finally, the hotel staff were incredibly enthusiastic. Even when checking in via machine, the front desk staff would always come over to help, and they'd always greet you warmly when you came and went. Definitely a top-notch experience! Nagano really is a beautiful small city; it must be even more stunning in winter. I'll definitely be back next winter and will book this hotel again. See you next time!"

"The hotel's location was easy enough to find, about an 8-minute walk away. Unfortunately, by the time I arrived, afternoon tea was over, so I missed out on the complimentary cake they offer guests. However, their ice cream is free and unlimited, so I sat down and had three scoops before heading to my room. The room size was adequate; I had no problem opening a suitcase. Afterwards, I went to their public bath, but it was a bit small and lacked any unique features. The sleep quality was pretty good though.
The next morning, their breakfast was quite substantial, with cakes being rotated, and I had several pieces. Overall, I feel like I'd consider coming back."

"The location is a huge plus, right opposite Nagano Station's Zenkoji Exit. The room was clean and tidy, and the bedding was soft, so I slept really well. "This established luxury hotel definitely lives up to its reputation. They even provide a shuttle service to Nagano Station every half hour, which is only a 15-minute ride away. The room was quite spacious and thoughtfully arranged. I particularly liked the long table right inside the entrance – it was perfect for placing items I needed to take with me when leaving, so I wouldn't forget them. The breakfast, however, was just average in terms of value for money. They didn't even have Shinshu beef. For the same price, I've had much more extensive breakfast buffets at similar hotels."

"Location of hotel is great! It’s very near the station and there are many shops and eateries around. They serve apple juice at the lobby. I hesitated to book because it was more expensive than other the average cost of other Dormy Inns / Onyado(s) I had stayed at. It was also more expensive than multiple other hotels within the vicinity.
When we stayed there, it appeared like off peak season with not many patrons but breakfast was packed with people. Staff ushering patrons to tables was most courteous and although she could not speak English, she tried her best to understand our request (for 5 pple to sit together) and did her best to make the arrangements for us. Quality of food here is much better than Onyado Nono Matsumoto. Beef was cooked well. This season, their welcome dessert is a slice of Banana cake which was yummy.
Room/amenities are abit dated and if I remember correctly…. The TV in the room doesn’t have Netflix nor YouTube but I could be wrong. If the prices can remain reasonable, I’ll stay there when I revisit Nagano."

"The room was very clean and tidy, not cramped, and had a great view from the window. It was quiet and peaceful, with no noise. Parking was nearby, including a multi-story indoor parking lot, and it was reasonably priced.
The breakfast was very varied: there was typical Japanese food, European food, vegetables, and fruit—everything was fresh and delicious.
Check-in and check-out were quick, efficient, and friendly.
There's a convenience store nearby, as well as two excellent craft beer bars.
Overall, I liked the hotel; it's a great location in a great city!"

"This is an extremely cosy place, but I would not dare describe it as luxurious. It is dated and simple, with the most basic amenities.
However, I liked it a lot. The best part about this ryokan is its owner, an elderly man. He truly puts his heart and soul into his establishment. He even suggested to give us a ride to the station, however the weather was nice and we decided to walk instead.
I'd like to highlight the breakfast: it was gorgeous, given the price. I'd even say it tasted better than a ¥3000 dinner I had at some local restaurant.
The whole experience felt like visiting your grandparents, who live in a village, during the summer."

Extremely convenient location! It's super close to Nagano Station, the Nagano Electric Railway (city subway), city buses, and the bus stop for Togakushi Shrine. The room was clean, and while the breakfast selection wasn't huge, it was sufficient and included burgers. Self-service coffee, tea, and toiletries were all well-stocked. Definitely worth a stay!

I was very lucky to book the last room on Saturday. Although the evaluation on the trip was not high, the evaluation on Google map was excellent and it was better than expected. Yifan1️⃣ Facilities: The room was surprisingly spacious (though I was a bit tipsy when I checked in, so I'm not entirely sure – maybe I got an upgrade? I don't know). It had a washing machine, an induction cooktop, and a microwave. It was like a whole suite.
2️⃣ Location: It's south of Nagano Station, not too far. I took the JR from Matsumoto to Nagano, and after drinking, I dozed off on the JR platform for half an hour, but still managed to walk to the hotel.
3️⃣ Onsen: I was too drunk to use the hot spring when I checked in. The next morning, I was rushing to get to Togakushi, so I missed out again. Thinking about it now, what a waste! But I did see a sign for the bathhouse in the elevator.

Guest UserFirst of all, the two staff at the check-in counter showed a very strong sense of job burnout on their faces, and the whole check-in process was not very pleasant. However, the next morning during check-out, the ladies at the counter were very professional and everything felt fine.
After entering the room, I found it to be very stuffy and hot. When I turned on the air conditioning, it was only heating. Since the weather outside was quite cool, I understand that the system is centrally controlled and set to heating. I then tried opening the window, but it could only be opened a small amount. For some reason, no fresh air was coming in, and the room still felt very stuffy.
Later, I went down to the counter (again, the same two male staff from check-in) to ask if the air conditioning could be switched to cooling, but my request was rejected. I then asked if it was possible to borrow a fan, and they refused again with a very impatient attitude.
Overall, the stay was not a very good experience. The room itself was actually fine, but it was too stuffy. I hope this review can be helpful to others.

A Japanese-style hotel with extreme temperatures. Although the luggage has to be carried up and down the steep and bright wooden stairs, the old antiques in the house make life afraid of breaking up, all guests share the bathroom bathroom and hot spring ♨️. But it is so warm, the space is reasonably used upstairs and downstairs, and the 20 or so rooms are scattered. Comfortable hot spring baths, soft cloth tatami mats and the quiet environment in the store make people relax. The hotel operator is an elderly couple over 80 years old, busy upstairs and downstairs every day, ushered in, the 81-year-old gentleman not only has a hard body but also a super memory, every time the guest goes out, he picks out the guest's shoes and puts them in front of the guest, never making mistakes. Grandma is also radiant and kind, and she will not forget every word the guests have said to her, carefully and meticulously. The two elders stood outside the door in slippers and bowed and waved goodbye to us until the bus traveled. Maybe it is because of the fact that this century-old store has been passed down. I hope everyone can feel their precious warmth and cherish it when they stay.

Excellent location, right next to the JR station, with a convenience store downstairs and plenty of izakayas nearby.
Although the hotel is old, the staff service was absolutely fantastic!
On the 10th floor, there are complimentary massage chairs, local sake, soft drinks, and noodle soup served with local specialty seven-spice powder. Even though the items are complimentary, the staff were incredibly friendly, and I could really feel the hotel's attention to detail. A truly wonderful experience! I'd definitely stay here again if I ever come to Nagano!

Despite my late check-in at around 10+ PM, she went the extra mile to warmly greet me and ensure that my room arrangement was smooth and comfortable.
What truly touched me was her thoughtful initiative after learning that I had to leave early for a day tour and needed to be at Nagano Station by 0640 hrs. She kindly prepared and packed breakfast for me in advance so that I would not miss my meal before the trip.

Lam.，The shared toilet and bathroom were not far from the Togakushi Shinkoge Onsen Yukan, so we took a shower directly at the hot spring.
The room was just okay, but the kids had a lot of fun playing in the thick snow outside.
If the boss has time in the evening, he can prepare a dinner even if it is past dinner time, but he can only choose one dish, curry rice or roast beef rice, and the charge is 1,100 yen per person.
It takes about 5 minutes to walk to Zhongsha. You can take a taxi to the ski resort or to downtown Nagano from Zhongsha. It is very convenient, but the bus interval is long.
