Newly renovated and centrally located, pet and family friendly retreat 2 blocks away from downtown, 1/2 a mile away from Lake Michigan. Right across the street from North Channel Brewery and 6 miles from Little River Casino.Our house has a first floor, primary bedroom that is handicapped friendly and full bathroom (deck entrance has 1 step). Renovated main floor living room is perfect for family gatherings and game nights. Our second floor has a full bath and loft perfect for large groups. We have a brand new (Spring 2025) deck with a gas fire pit on the deck and a wood burning fire pit in the backyard where you can enjoy s'mores and stories while enjoying unplugging outside in Northern Michigan.Pets: We allow up to two dogs per group ($75 one time cleaning fee) at the house. Originally two separate homes, this large house is perfect for multiple groups and provides plenty of space to interact together and separately. If you need to work, our newly upgraded mesh wifi 6 system and home office with a monitor are available during your stay. Families will have everything they need with baby gates, a high chair, a mini crib, a pack n play, a foosball table and other games made available to guests. There are 3 dedicated spots available, but plenty of other free street parking right around the house. There is also a wheelchair accessible ramped access to the house and 2 bedrooms and bathrooms on the main floor. Nearly every bedroom has either a smart TV or a fire stick for entertainment on rainy days.Enjoy a glass of wine or dinner on the back patio, a fire at night, or walk across the street for a Dairy Queen treat on a hot day!Guest accessThere is dedicated parking in the back entrance off the alley between 1st and 2nd Streets, or you can park on the south side of 1st Street or any of the side streets. Redberry House is divided into 2 private apartment units, each with its own entrance. The first floor unit has been lovingly updated and outfitted to host up to 8 people when using the twin trundle bed and separate futon in the den area. (The private upper floor unit is only used occasionally by the owners and will not interfere with your enjoyment of the home.) Redberry House is fully stocked with linens, bath towels, and beach towels, as well as a well-stocked kitchen and two internet TVs (via Roku). Unfortunately, the unit does not have a dishwasher or washer/dryer. Air conditioning is provided via two window units, along with ceiling fans and oscillating tower fans, that are more than sufficient for keeping the space cool and comfortable!The Manistee area has so many interesting areas and activities to explore and is graced with beautiful landscapes that allow you to catch your breath, relax, and retreat.
