Rooms are surprisingly spacious for the price (RM458 for 2 nights—yes, really), making it a solid pick for short work trips or budget-conscious travelers. The view? Let's just say the ongoing construction outside isn’t exactly postcard material. But if you're mostly indoors or in meetings, it won’t bother you much. Location-wise, it’s about a 20-minute Grab ride to the city center—not ideal, but manageable given the affordability. Breakfast was a pleasant surprise: local staples like kolo mee and nasi lemak hit the spot. Overall, it’s not a resort, but it doesn’t pretend to be. For the price, space, and decent local breakfast, I’d come back again—just maybe not for the scenery."

"Whenever I'm in Kuching, this is the THE hotel to stay at! It's simple, the toilet has a bidet, the beds are huge and comfy! It's 10 mins from the airport and has a mall next to it! EVERYTHING IS AMAZING"

"The room was comfortable and all the necessary amenities are provided. There was also a nice pool on the top floor that offered a nice view far away. The location of the hotel was pretty good as it was near a couple of local coffeeshop that serves nice delicious local breakfast kolo mee. A short grab ride around 4-6rm away was chinatown that we explored. This was a short trip to attend a friend’s wedding dinner. Hence the exploration was short n simple. We shall stay here again if we come back to kuching for our next trip."

"I had a great stay at Meritin Hotel. The location is excellent within walking distance to Kuching Waterfront, Chinatown, and many great local eateries. The staff were very friendly and helpful, especially during check-in and check-out. The room was clean, comfortable, and well-equipped, offering good value for the price.i really appreciate the simple welcoming notes inside room. "There is some delay when we check in. The staff not able to find our file coz we book at Jun 2025 and check in Sept. Other then that it is a good location to stay. Convenient to go China Town , Water Front and etc. The hotel room is big but a bit old."

"The location was not too bad, there is a shopping mall about 5 mins walk from the hotel. But the shopping mall does not have much food to eat though, a small food court, a few small stores that sell chinese food, fast food. But there are 4 spectacles shop, watsons and super market in case you need any daily stuff. If you willing to walk about 10 mins along the main road, you will reach the 101 night market, there is a good variety of chinese food there, non halal food, but good chinese food, those that you will find in the night market in malaysia, there is also provision shops and medical shop if you require any daily things"
