I had some concerns about Chungking Mansions before coming here, but the actual arrival was better than expected. The room is cheap and the location is very good. Victoria Harbour is just a short walk away. But after all, this is Chungking Mansions. The elevator is slow and not enough, and you have to wait for a long time. You can also see the very punk-style (dirty) patio from the window in the corridor. The corridor smells like a big bathhouse in mainland China (I don’t know how to describe it). The guy was very friendly when I checked in. In fact, this was the first time I used English to communicate in real life. My reaction was very slow, but the guy was very patient and led me to the room later. Check-in and check-out were very smooth. There is no service fee/cleaning fee/deposit (I booked the room from Ctrip). The room is very clean. My room has no windows, and there are two ventilation fans, one in the bedroom and one in the toilet. However, the one in the bedroom should have some problems and is very noisy, but the air conditioner has ventilation function, so there is no problem. Although the hotel does not have a kettle, it has purified water supply (the water is in large bottles). Finally, let me say something else. There is a problem with the location of the hotel on Ctrip. You need to look at the address on the confirmation letter. Judging from the signs and contact emails on the wall, these hotels should be owned by the same company, namely Dhillon Hotel.
