Best Hakodate Hotels

"Location: Right next to Hakodate JR Station, just a 2-minute walk away. There's also a bus stop right outside, and it's very convenient to walk to attractions on the Mount Hakodate side. Service: The front desk staff spoke good English, and both check-in and luggage storage were seamless. The room wasn't very spacious, and the bathroom didn't have a separate wet and dry area. However, the hotel breakfast was excellent! There were many choices, and the food tasted great. What was really surprising was the self-serve wine and sparkling wine. Facilities: From the outside, the hotel looks quite old, but the interior is well-maintained. The most important thing is that this is a filming location for the Detective Conan movie, 'The Million-Dollar Pentagram'! Conan fans shouldn't miss it, haha."

The bay view is absolutely stunning. Service: Very good. They even offer a pillow menu and aromatherapy choices in the evening."

"I enjoyed the onsen (hot spring) in the morning, which was very relaxing and washed away my fatigue, helping me start a new day. As a base in Hakodate, you can walk to the seaside from the back door. Hakodate Station is about a 10-minute walk away. If you're dragging luggage in snowy weather, I recommend taking a taxi, though the route is very straightforward – just a straight road. There are buses near the hotel that go to Goryokaku and Mount Hakodate. On the way to Hakodate Station, there are also many great places to eat. Plus, there's a drugstore and convenience store right in front of the hotel, which is super convenient."

"This is a highly recommended hotel in Hakodate. Location is just besides Hakodate station where you can ride immediately trains. Surrounded with restaurants, and convenience store. The rooms were so clean and the bed smells good. They have comolimentart coffee upon arrival and all amenities were provided. So bad that I wasnt able to take photos. I highly recommend this hotel."

"This hotel is perfect for introverts, offering fully self-service check-in, check-out, and luggage storage. You can grab toothbrushes and combs from the front desk yourself. Perhaps due to language barriers, I found the staff to be a bit indifferent. The duvet looked a little worn and had some old stains, but the bedside tables had a charming, historic feel. The bathroom was narrow but very clean. In the triple room, we could barely open one suitcase. We chose a room away from the elevator, so our window offered a view of JR Hakodate Station, which really highlights how incredibly close the hotel is – just a few minutes' walk. There's also a Maxvalu supermarket about a 10-minute walk away, which is quite large and good for browsing. Plus, there's a delicious soup curry restaurant, King Bear, nearby."

"After 10 stops in Japan I can say Tokyu Stay is my favorite hotel chain. In-room laundry is so nice for long term travel and they always provide the quintessential hotel amenities. No fancy design gimmicks, just everything you need. Location was great a few blocks from Hakodate station and the harbor. Excellent views from the rooftop lounge."

"Personally feel that its price is not bad, it is only a minute walk from the station, there is a big supermarket nearby to buy fruit dinner snacks, every day after the trip to go back to the hotel, you will go there to buy food!"

"Location is 100%! Booked this room for a family of 4, reached the hotel early and they allow us early check in! Didn’t try their onsen, breakfast is up to standard. And there is washing machine in the room, which is very convenient! There is a nice ramen downstairs which serves nicer fried chicken."

"Great location, very convenient for getting around. The restaurant food was good, and I loved having a big bathroom with a hot spring tub. I'd definitely stay here again if I get the chance. The only minor drawback was that the room was a bit small, but it didn't really affect the overall experience."

"The room was quite spacious and very clean. Its location is fantastic, being very close to the station with plenty of dining options nearby, and just a stone's throw from the main commercial street. The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful. We even accidentally lost our room key, and when we informed them, they didn't charge us and promptly provided a new one without any fuss. If we ever return to Hakodate, we would definitely choose to stay here again. Highly recommended!"
