LLiayibushiayiAbsolutely fantastic! The hotel is directly connected to the JR station, so you can be on the train in just 5 minutes – truly seamless. The hotel's train-themed decor is really charming; if you get the chance, definitely book a train-themed room, it's so unique. The rooftop open-air onsen and lounge with the delicious Miling coffee is a major plus. Breakfast was superb too; the sushi was incredibly fresh, and I devoured six huge grilled scallops! The harbor views and the train views from the room are simply unbeatable!

DDebulusateOverall, it was a great stay. The location is super convenient, right outside the JR station and close to all the main attractions. The interior is very new and the facilities are excellent. The service was also good. A particular highlight is the fantastic bike rental right outside the hotel – incredibly convenient! The price was reasonable too. I highly recommend these bikes; they're electric-assisted and you can pretty much see all the major Hakodate sights in one day. The only minor downside was the duvet. It was too thin, and with temperatures around 10-15 degrees Celsius at night and no air conditioning, it was uncomfortable for someone used to thicker bedding. They provided a few blankets, but they were not very comfortable and tended to slip off. Hotels in Tokyo, Kyoto, and Osaka usually allow you to request extra duvets, but apparently not in Hokkaido. Also, the soundproofing wasn't as good as hotels in Tokyo or Osaka. I kept hearing some banging noise from next door in the morning. Despite these small issues, it was a good experience overall, and I would definitely choose this hotel again when I visit Hakodate in the future.

LLiduoxiliaolinuolisiI'd call this unbeatable. First off, the front desk service was truly above and beyond my expectations. It was snowing heavily, and the bellhop was still waiting outside for guests to arrive, helping with luggage. The outdoor private onsen in the room was also exceptional; the view and atmosphere were incredible. The breakfast, with its unbeatable ocean view, topped it all off. I had a wonderful day in Hakodate!

SSuet Sum LaiI booked the hotel a few months ago so I could get a very good price for staying with OMO5. Very comfortable and energetic hotel, especially the common area was a place for relaxing and chill. They have a different set up during the day and at night. The highlight of this hotel is the free shuttle bus services, going around the city, and the paid shuttle service to go up the hill to see the sunset. You would be knowing how chaotic it could be up there so it’s good to have a shuttle bus bringing you up and down back to the hotel door. Also, the hotel offer free tours and I joined the free market walking tour and a bus tour to Onuma National Park. By staying one night, I could use the services before the check in and after the check out, so basically it covered 2 days activities when I was in Hakodate. it’s a super value offer, and I really feel this hotel group has thoughts from traveler’s perspective and try their best to give the best experience and to help reducing hassles for us. Definitely I will book with hotels under Hoshino Resort Group again. Thank you very much.

DD25860****A rare find at this ocean-view hot spring hotel! Soaking in the hot spring while gazing at the sea, daydreaming, or chatting is simply wonderful! From the moment we arrived, we had a dedicated butler who escorted us to the large lounge for check-in. While their English wasn't fluent, they could communicate in Japanese and Chinese using a translation app, and were very responsible in repeatedly confirming our reservation times. The private hot spring bath we booked was excellent in both its environment and facilities, and both the indoor and outdoor public baths offered ocean views. Cleanliness was impeccable, and the ocean-view room was enormous; we even had albatrosses visiting outside the window. The kaiseki cuisine at breakfast and dinner was absolutely amazing—delicious and beautifully presented—I was extremely satisfied!

HHuahuahualvlvThe hotel is close to the sea but a bit far from the JR station. The room was clean, and the triple room had enough space for three suitcases. The bedding was comfortable too. For breakfast, you can choose between a set meal or a buffet, but there's a long wait for the buffet. We opted for the set meal both days, and it was quite good. The onsen offers nice views of Hakodate, which is a plus.

GGuest UserThe hotel is right next to the station, which makes it super convenient for getting to Mount Hakodate and other nearby attractions. They offer coffee, but only after 3 PM. Also, the ramen at the station that everyone queues for is really, really bad! Do not recommend it at all!

AAilvxingdeabuI absolutely loved this Lavista hotel! The breakfast was fantastic, with a great spread including salmon, sweet shrimp, ice cream, and pudding. There's a direct bus to Hakodate Airport right nearby, costing 700 yen, and it's conveniently located next to Meijikan. There are also plenty of restaurants in the vicinity. The Kanemori Red Brick Warehouses are just a 2-minute walk away, which is super handy for buying snacks and souvenirs. The onsen (public bath) was excellent, with good quality body lotion and hair conditioner provided. There were several outdoor baths, which were very relaxing. Plus, after a soak, you get free ice cream! It's about a 15-minute walk to both the Hakodateyama Ropeway and Hakodate JR Station. The views of Mount Hakodate are also beautiful. Highly recommend!

Hotel breakfast provided in Japanese restaurant is fantastically good. Rich variety of local Japanese food.
Service provided by hotel was bad n needed to be improved:
(1) Check in to hotel is strictly starts at 3pm, which is vy late. Most Japan hotel checks in at 2pm n allows earlier check in. Customers needed to wait n queue up in long line to check in. Hotel is not flexible n has no alternative plans to open up check in earlier even though long queues of people are waiting for 3pm. Long queue is blocking the hotel lobby reception too. Worst is that there are a few staffs sitting at reception counter not doing anything to accommodate to crowded waiting at counter. Vy poor service provided by hotel front office reception.
(2) Same thing as waiting in long queue for daily breakfast. Waiting time is too long. Will need the staff to take one by one customer to respective table. There's only one staff taking charge. Will need to upgrade the service by adding one or two more staff to be on duty at the counter.
