Amazing
GGuest UserVery conveniently located along the route from the airport to the central Hakodate!! The ryokan is a beautiful traditional style ryokan with tatami mat and delicious kaiseki dinner. The place is very quiet and peaceful and there is onsen available. It is located near the beach if you want to take in some fresh sea breeze.
Cczp****This hotel is relatively new, and both the lobby and the onsen facilities are excellent, facing the sea with brand-new amenities. The rooftop open-air onsen is stunning, allowing you to enjoy the ocean and starry sky while soaking. The rooms are spacious, clean, and very comfortable. Breakfast and dinner are especially lavish, with a wide variety of dishes like crab legs, tempura, sashimi, and grilled scallops. Getting to the airport is also very convenient, with a bus stop just a short walk from the entrance, reaching the airport in about 10 minutes. There's a friendly and attentive Chinese-speaking staff member at the front desk. I will definitely choose this hotel again next time I visit Hakodate.
WWee LoonLocation is the king. Booked a room that can see the canal right off the window for a peaceful view. Otaru is a small town and most of the places are within walking distance. Stroll along the Otaru canal right in front of the hotel was great! Room itself was normal, and we have one advice for the hotel to just remove the aged cupboards in front of the beds since nobody really needs them to give more walking space and luggage space. Onsen on the top floor was decent though not of the best, offering a good view of the canal. Service at the hotel was normal. Those who have cars will need to pay 1200 yen for one day of parking (will need to inform hotel to reserve the parking space when you go out). Everybody, regardless you are going to onsen or not, needs to pay 150 yen onsen tax when you check in.
GGuest UserOne of our favourite onsen hotels in Hokkaido. Very clean and impeccable service! Loved the public onsen, very nicely decorated, tranquil and clean. We stayed for 2 nights and enjoyed the breakfast and traditional japanese full course dinner on both nights. Staff was very attentive to detail and provided excellent service. The hotel is a distance away from the Hakodate city centre but had free parking and ample parking lots. Since we drove, proximity to the city centre was not too much of a concern for us. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Hanabishi and would stay again!
GGuest UserI hv requested a king size bed when I booked 6weeks in advanced my stay but they didnt give me a king size bed. The room is tiny with a corridor and separated shower area and toilet. I feel the room design is not efficient and uses up many space which doesnt allow guests to open the luggage. Onsen was good. Their water makes the skin soft and smooth. Because of its hotel capacity there are many guests and onsen area is quite crowded. Breakfast was excellent but they close shape at 9am. You are requested to hv breakfast at either 7am or 8am. That is too early for me. In general nice stay but could hv been better.
AAnonymous UserThe hotel is a little far from Hakodate Station. We have to walk a little after taking the bus, so we took a taxi, which cost 2,300 yen. The Japanese-style hot spring hotel, the room is not by the sea, the tatami area is good, much larger than the Western-style hotel room 😆 There are relatively few restaurants in Yukawa Onsen and they are relatively far away. It is recommended to solve breakfast and dinner in the hotel. We ordered breakfast, which is Japanese style with many varieties. We didn't order dinner, and wanted to go out for dinner. Unexpectedly, we walked for a long time before finding an Okonomiyaki restaurant that could accommodate us.
__WeChat281718****This is an old-fashioned Japanese-style hotel, located about 5 kilometers from JR Hakodate. Transportation in Hakodate isn't very convenient, especially at night, so I took a taxi directly to the hotel.
There's a small supermarket downstairs selling souvenirs, food, and drinks—a wide variety, but don't buy too much (they sell similar items at the airport).
One downside of staying here is the language barrier. Don't expect to rely on English like in a big city. The hotel's signage cards had numerous errors in their English translations, so it's best to use a Japanese-Chinese translation app to communicate with the staff.
The private bath was nice, with a beautiful sea view and the option to watch the sunrise (though the angle wasn't great).
The hotel breakfast had a wide variety of options, but it wasn't to my taste. I even found a fish bone in my seafood paella, which wasn't a pleasant experience.
The staff might come into your room to make the bed between 6:30 PM and 8:00 PM each evening, which could be a bit of a disturbance.
GGuest UserVery very good! The photos are very nice, the breakfast in the restaurant is also delicious, and any photos you take are very good. You can get a yukata after checking in. We didn't know we could choose our favorite yukata until the last day, so we didn't take any photos. Other than that, it's very good, the attitude is also very good, it's worth choosing.
MM56456****Beyond expectations! I booked this hotel specifically for the breakfast, and it definitely didn't disappoint. The fresh, all-you-can-eat seafood was absolutely amazing.
The only minor drawbacks were its distance from the station and the quiet surroundings. We visited during the off-season, and the streets were quite deserted when we walked back to the hotel at night.
