"I had a bit of an adventure finding a hotel in Dezhou this time. The top-ranked ones on Ctrip all seemed like 'classic luxury,' but the photos looked quite dated. Then, I stumbled upon this one on Xiaohongshu, and after a quick search, found out it's a German brand acquired by Huazhu. Decided to give it a try. Once I checked in, I realized this IntercityHotel is quite a hidden gem. The whole place gives off a vibe of understated elegance – simple yet sophisticated. The room had soft lighting and felt spacious and comfortable. Since it just opened in 2025, all the facilities are brand new and very pleasant. The slippers in the room were especially nice, plush and soft underfoot. The toilet, while not a special imported brand, offered a level of comfort even better than some Japanese models. The TV system was also new, making screen mirroring and internet connectivity a breeze. The hotel service was just right. There weren't many staff, but they were all very efficient. There were complimentary bottled water bottles available at the elevator entrance, which was convenient if you wanted to grab one on your way out. However, if you came back late, you might have to call to have one delivered to your room. The breakfast was a pleasant surprise – a rich selection, and they even had freshly squeezed juice, which was a huge bonus. Unfortunately, I was in a hurry and couldn't try everything. But the room also had pour-over coffee and what seemed to be selected quality teas, both quite good. I drank both packets of coffee. Overall, the check-in experience was excellent, and I'm very satisfied. The value for money is outstanding; I even think it's much better than similarly priced chain hotels in Beijing. The hotel is relatively close to the city center, about a ten-minute drive. If you're driving, it's also very close to the highway exit – right off it. Yesterday, we also had North Korean noodles at Jin San, BBQ at Lei Lei, and watched a movie. We had a great time playing in Dezhou this May Day holiday and discovered such a treasure of a hotel. If I have the chance to come again, I will definitely choose IntercityHotel. Finally, let me mention a few things I consider potential drawbacks. First, while the breakfast appeared very rich, the actual food was a bit cold. For example, the fried dough sticks weren't freshly made. Many of the pre-prepared dishes, like stir-fries, were also cold. I think the main reason is probably that this hotel's kitchen isn't as large and mature as those in very big hotels, where food can be prepared and served fresh. IntercityHotel might not have as many staff in the restaurant (due to cost and other factors). Plus, the保温 system might not be very effective. I think this is an area for improvement. Second, when I left, I used the restroom on the first floor and found it to be very small, with people smoking inside, and a strong smell of smoke. I know that in Dezhou, it's not like first-tier cities such as Beijing or Shanghai, right? Even in those cities, there are still plenty of people who smoke in restrooms. However, I think a hotel is a special kind of establishment, and it would be better if staff could manage this. Because I believe a hotel is supposed to provide a comfortable accommodation experience. Even if the first-floor restroom is open to the public and has high foot traffic, making it difficult to control, I think efforts should still be made to control it, as no one wants to inhale secondhand smoke. I think this is another area for improvement. Essentially, it might be due to not being able to staff enough cleaning personnel to intervene. The front desk staff also have their own duties. Regarding smoking bans in public places, especially completely eradicating smoking in restrooms, perhaps the best solution is to install smoke detectors above each stall that spray water directly if someone smokes. Let's see who dares to misbehave then 🙄"

"I rarely give negative reviews! This time it’s really a bad review! ! 1. After spending time in Tangquan, I came over and saw that the Tangquan ticket was given to me in the room I booked. I asked the front desk if it could still be deducted. The front desk replied that it was no. It can only be used after checking in. Okay, I won’t mention that. 2. There are two rooms marked. When checking in, I was told that there was only one room left. Do I need to pay the price difference for the other room? So why can I make a successful reservation? If the room status cannot be updated in time, can you please close the room? 3. It is marked as a 1.8-meter large bed, but it is actually a 1.5-meter double bed. It is extremely crowded for two adults. How can I enjoy the comfortable king-bed room? The bed is as hard as a wooden bed...? ? 4. The safety environment during check-in is worrying. The peephole on the door can be dug in from the outside! ! We were very tired when we came to check in from the hot spring in the early morning, but we encountered drunken guests running wildly in the corridor and wailing, but no one went upstairs to check whether it was safe or to persuade them to leave. What's more, a drunk man poked open the peephole in my friend's room to peek. My friend discovered it and immediately called the police and checked the surveillance system. At this time, the perpetrator took advantage of this opportunity and returned to the door of my friend's room to squat and guard. The residents were safe. How to protect it?"

"Extremely bad. Don't be fooled by the picture on the seller's cover; it's completely different. Everything inside is of very low quality. The bed is just an unopened mattress covered with a sheet, which rolled off after a short while. There was no water left, and you had to pay for a bottle. Plus, the location is too remote, making takeout extremely expensive. It's absolutely not worth it, incredibly bad, the worst possible condition."
