I took my family to Senbo Water Park for a three-day, two-night weekend getaway. We booked two rooms. Here's a quick rundown of our experience.
Facilities: I came here because of the many positive reviews. Since the hotel was newly renovated in 2022, the hardware and features were essentially identical to the platform description, meeting four-star standards. Furthermore, the price was quite reasonable during the peak summer season.
Cons: 1. The restaurant is very small. During the breakfast rush, it was packed, leading to a long wait for a table. After asking the waiter, we were directed to a meeting room on the same floor.
2. The hotel has fitness facilities and family-friendly play areas, but they're located in the same area, making the space very cramped and posing a significant safety hazard. While adults were exercising, many curious children were eager to try them out. Without parental supervision, injuries could easily occur.
Note: On my second day, while doing a chest press on a power rack, I cut my finger on a broken handle, which affected my subsequent enjoyment of the water park. (I have over 10 years of fitness experience.) After I was injured, they even dissuaded many children from using the gantry. Imagine how terrible it would be if a child accidentally got cut!
Service: The staff were generally young, polite, and patient, but their service awareness was somewhat lacking, and they were also quite passive.
Disadvantages: 1. After check-in, only one room card was given per room. After further inquiry, a replacement electricity card was issued. When I later reported the inconveniences caused by my family's travel during my stay, the front desk staff replied, "If needed, a copy can be made for each room at the front desk for convenience." (Why couldn't they be more considerate and not inform me in advance?)
2. I was injured while working out on broken equipment at the gym, indicating that there were gaps in the equipment's regular maintenance and disinfection procedures, leading to a series of safety hazards! Of course, after I reported the issue, the manager immediately responded with concern and, at my request, provided Band-Aids and iodine compresses. The next day, a maintenance notice was posted on the gantry for rectification. 3. On the first day of my stay, I was able to enter and exit the underground parking lot 🅿️ easily. The next day, I couldn't. I called the front desk, and they said they hadn't entered my license plate, so it couldn't be automatically recognized... The same question remains: why didn't they ask guests about their travel methods and proactively register their vehicle information upon check-in? (Without a license plate, why was I able to enter and exit on the first day but not the next? I'm baffled.)
These are just some of my personal experiences during my stay. The service industry has a low tolerance for error, and the devil is in the details. I hope your hotel can address this and improve in the future. 👍
