This hotel stay completely redefined my understanding of what a truly excellent accommodation should be! From the moment I stepped into the hotel, the warm lighting and soothing music in the lobby immediately put me at ease. The front desk staff were incredibly friendly and professional; check-in was super efficient, and they even proactively upgraded my room, which was a delightful surprise! The hotel also thoughtfully provided Type-C charging ports. The room itself was absolutely flawless: the bedding was incredibly soft, and with the blackout curtains drawn, it created a perfect sleeping environment. Even the bathroom was impressive, featuring a smart toilet and a large rainfall showerhead – every detail showcased thoughtful design and comfort. The hotel gym was equipped with brand-new machines. Breakfast offered such a vast selection that it was hard to choose, with everything from Chinese hot congee and fried dough sticks to Western pastries and coffee, truly catering to all tastes. The location is also superb, just a few minutes' walk from the nearest subway station, making getting around incredibly convenient. This entire stay was absolutely perfect – a definite five-star experience! I wouldn't hesitate to choose this hotel again for my next trip.

It's a long-standing 5-star hotel, and I've stayed here multiple times when visiting Changchun. The front desk staff are exceptionally attentive and welcoming. A special thank you to them for the complimentary room upgrade! Both the public areas and our room were quite clean and tidy. Breakfast quality control needs strengthening. While there was a wide variety of options, none felt particularly refined, and the taste of most dishes was quite average, though the stewed sauerkraut was delicious. The doorman service also requires improvement. Staff were observed chatting amongst themselves, and there was no proactive door-opening service upon arrival, nor any basic welcoming greetings.

Paying 600 RMB for this felt like I only got 300 RMB's worth. As someone who travels for business all over the country, this was by far the worst hotel experience I've ever had. Upon checking in, I inquired about an upgrade but never received a clear answer as to whether I actually got one. The room's view was awful, even though it was on the top floor. The front desk didn't even explain how to use the key card. I later discovered you have to insert it into the elevator reader, then remove it before pressing your floor – I've never encountered such a peculiar system. The hotel's hardware facilities were subpar. The bathroom was so narrow and cramped, the toilet was practically wedged between the wall and the shower glass. For a five-star hotel, they provide cheap 'ChunYue' bottled water as complimentary drinking water! And the mini-bar was, of course, filled with overpriced sodas and other chargeable items. Getting a stamp on my receipt required waiting and even an approval process – I've never encountered such a ridiculous procedure before. Honestly, there's not much else to add. For a Shangri-La hotel in the capital city of such a large province, this standard is simply unacceptable! Is this what Changchun's hotel scene has come to? I will definitely never choose a Shangri-La hotel again!

It's commendable that this established hotel continues to uphold its service-first philosophy. A minor suggestion: I found a few hairs on the bed, which indicates a lack of attention to detail during housekeeping. I hope they can enhance their training in this area. Breakfast was quite extensive. During the summer holiday, there were quite a few children, but the room's soundproofing was decent, ensuring a good night's sleep.

With so many new luxury boutique hotels emerging in recent years, it had been a long time since I last stayed at a Shangri-La, and I'd even forgotten I was a member. Changchun was the first stop on my Northeast China trip. After doing some online research and considering location and star rating, I chose the pricier Shangri-La over Hampton by Hilton, wondering if its facilities and services might be outdated due to its age. My worries were completely unfounded. Before my car even pulled up, the concierge was already waiting at the door. The young man at the front desk was very attentive and generously offered a complimentary breakfast. The room was spacious, had a great view, and came with all the expected amenities – exactly what you'd expect from a five-star hotel. It brought to mind the saying among movie enthusiasts: 'Even an old Ferrari is still a Ferrari.' Similarly, I'd say, 'Even an old Shangri-La is still a Shangri-La.' P.S. The welcome snack was a bit meager and could use some improvement. Next time I'm in Changchun, I'll definitely stay here again!
