"Decent hotel, centrally located close to the train station making it a very convenient place to stay. Staff very welcoming and took into account my special request and booked me a quiet room which was appreciated.
Breakfast, nothing special, just like any other hotel breakfast in the uk. Good views at the breakfast area, staff on hand to help and often going out of their way to help.
Service was 10/10.
Rooms themselves felt a little old and could do with a touch up but comfy enough for a short stay! Coffee machine too!"
"The hotel is a bit far from the city centre, about 15 min walk . The facilities in the hotel are good. I like the kitchen in the room and I can make my meals during the holidays. It's really amazing. The staff members are really friendly and responsive. The breakfast was really good too. Highly recommended to people who are going to Cardiff."
"Welcomed warmly by reception and efficiently checked in. Reception also helped us with directions for both the bay and the city centre. Good location to visit Wales Millenium Centre. Just a ten minute walk. Good breakfast which was regularly replenished and tables cleaned. The staff were very friendly"
"We were allocated a silent room. It was good with good bathroom and shower. Unfortunately there was yoghurt and strawberries left in a bowl in the fridge by previous person. Also clothes left in the wardrobe. This was remedied but obviously not too pleasant a start. No water in the room.
Breakfast was great with plenty of choice and staff were very professional and friendly.
Would return."
"This new hotel is very clean and perfect location except the door lock is not working properly. It is not perfectly fit and the room except to pull harder to lock it. Besides, the room has no telephone which causes inconvenience if you need help. I spent an hour to keep going down to look for help several times.
I suggest the hotel could leave a note of the front desk phone.number for the clients convenience 🙏🙏"
"Positives: Receptionist on the desk was nice and polite.
The room itself was large, had a kettle with coffee etc, iron and ironing board, shampoo and body wash, comfy large bed.
Negatives: the hotel was so loud not from other rooms but from outside, I did ask for a quiet room. But was woken again at 4am with the sound of bass that carried on until 5am! Should have guessed it was going to be noisy when the receptionist mentioned they could provide ear plugs if needed!
The receptionist did say if it was too loud we could move but it wasn’t at 3pm.
And there was no point in moving at 2am when we heard the outside noise.
If I could guarantee a room that was definitely quiet I would stay again."
"This place is centrally located, is clean, and the bathroom has ample hot water and water pressure. However, the room was the size of a matchbox, it was overpriced, and the bed was the cheapest bed I’ve slept on ever at a chain hotel. The bed curls up on either side of you when you sit on it and you sink to the frame. Sleeping on it is like sleeping on a shallow water bed with springs."
"The hotel is a wonderful old Victorian building, very close to all major tourist attractions, food shops, pubs and food market. During our 2N stay at the hotel we only faced two issues. 1)the lift is very compact (small) and slow and gave up on the second day of our stay. 2) The sink in the room got clogged but the staff immediately resolved the issue. The hotel staff were kind and courteous. I’d highly recommend staying at The Angel hotel.😊"
"There’s a receptionist who was very nice, she helped us with our luggage before we checked in and even after we checked out. She’s very friendly and also professional! About the room, it’s good overall with the price. Everything was totally fine to stay there for a short trip!"

Great
GGuest UserThis hotel is in a great location! Although the room is small, the price/performance ratio is very good! Especially the breakfast is very good. If you are not very picky, this hotel is still worth recommending!
GGuest UserThe only reasons I gave 4/5 stars for service was the self service hot beverage station and making your own toast. Order their specials better, however, this time my poached eggs were not soft. Excellent wine and excellent bar lunch which they allowed us to eat in the restaurant which was a bonus. I love this location. Walks through the wetlands and to Penarth and easy links to Barry Island. Spa brilliant and the quiet area next to the gym brilliant for reading
KKitMeeWell located, next to Cardiff Central train station close to everything. Not located in Cardiff centre but short walk only about 10mins or so. Super clean n comfy AC room. Clean n new towels. Shampoo, conditioner n body wash provided. A safe deposit box but without a mini fridge. spacious family room as per website pics. Located at G floor n have to go down n also climb a few stairs before reaching room.Laminated floor which is a plus point which is more hygienic. Toiletries provided upon requested. Friendly n helpful staff and able to assist more than expected. Truly Satisfied stay. Wil stay agsin in the future.
CCC TsangBrilliant location! Not far from Cardiff Central Station. Close to the Castle, the Market, various Arcades, and Bute Park for Cardiff Boat Tours to the Cardiff Bay. Lots of eateries and nice restaurants nearby too.
The indoor swimming pool is absolutely a plus.
IizziI had a lovely stay here. The location is fantastic with lots of things going on all around and most places are a short walk away.
The staff were very accommodating and polite. There's not a lift so you do need to walk up stairs. Before arriving, I requested a room on the lowest possible floor to minimise climbing for my mother and the staff were responsive and helpful. The service from Sanjay and Ruth was excellent. The breakfast was yummy and they had vegan-friendly options too!
I was worried the room would be a bit small for two people but it was lovely, the shower was great and it was actually quite spacious.
I was also impressed with how secure the hotel was and Anne-Marie on the front desk was really pleasant to chat with at any time.
I would definitely recommend this place and I would be very happy to stay here again!
GGuest UserWifi in the room didn’t work I had to check twice with the reception but it didn’t work I had to go to the lobby to access wifi. Despite having allowed to check out at 1pm housekeeper still knocked on my door at 12pm. Receptionist gave wrong info about going to the city. They made mistake with my number of luggages. Very disappointed with this Marriott property
GGuest UserGreat front service staff. However, no face towels or tissues were in the room. Bed was uncomfortable.
Excellent location, we completed lots of walking.
Buffet breakfast was awesome
GGuest UserI really enjoyed my stay overall. The location was fantastic—on a beautiful street—and the hotel building itself is stunning. When I arrived, I was warmly welcomed by a very kind Italian gentleman, which gave me a great first impression. My room, though located in a separate area, was clean, modern, and nicely decorated. Everything looked fresh and well thought out.
However, I was disappointed to find visible stains on the bed sheets. While I believe they had been washed, the stains hadn’t come out and the sheets were still used, which didn’t match the high standard the rest of the hotel presented. I think they should have replaced them.
Another minor inconvenience was the bathroom light, which was automatic and triggered the extractor fan. This meant that even during the night, using the bathroom caused the noisy fan to stay on for a while, which could’ve been avoided with a manual light switch, in my opinion.
Despite these issues, the stay was mostly very positive, but I can’t give a full five stars because of the sheets. Hopefully this can be improved for future guests.
GGuest UserWe arrived at Cardiff Central by train, which is 15mins walking to this Premier Inn. It was very welcoming and staff friendly, rooms clean, with as much tea and coffee, which you took from the travellers store at the main entrance. My only gripe is as I have dietary requirements, They couldn't cater for them and had to make do with what was on offer. No gluten free food at night, Only what I would call general burgers, lasagne, steak battered fish and chips. Only veg on offer was peas. In this day and age Hotels need to cater for a variety of people's health conditions. Vegan/vegetarians are not Gluten free or Ibs sufferers or Celiacs. Which are complicated problems. It would be helpful if they offered something which could be adapted. .
