Opposite the hotel is a ******, the central air conditioning cooling tower on the roof is very noisy, and the balcony door must be closed."

There was room cleaning service. The environment was very quiet.

"This hotel is very good. We are a family of three adults and one child. The room is very large, with a double bed (1.5 meters wide) and two single beds, separate bathroom, refrigerator, microwave oven, dishes, cutlery and forks. Spoons and toasters are very convenient. The hotel has no breakfast and no extra bed. It is suitable for a family. It can be said to be very good at this price. The hotel also has free parking spaces, free Wi-Fi, and a small swimming pool. The hotel is 1.2 kilometers away from the bustling beach area. You can eat and drink when you stroll. The location of the hotel is within the range of free pick-up and drop-off for day trips, which is very convenient."

MMin Ts***The apartment is rather new. Location is the biggest its advantage. Vert close to bus station and restaurants. The whole block of 1/2 bedroom apartments are next to the “hotel”. The check in and out processes were fast without hassle.
During my stay, I found some daily problems that I had to sort out. As the staff at the reception said the apartment is managed by the hotel, however, it is not serviced exactly as the hotel rooms. I prefer to have some information sheet telling some basics solutions.
It was not cleaned up every day. We had the cleaning services for the 4th, 8th morning. I have to ask for refilling such as clean towels, toilet papers, rubbish bin bags, dishwashing tabs, I also need to empty the rubbish or food garbage.
Most disappointing, someone having their food in room and drop them nearby my door daily. As the temperature is hot there and stinky smell was suck.

GGeng TianmingStayed 4+1 nights here. Very bad experiences in the end: my wife’s jacket was lost inside the wardrobe, I had to take taxi from airport to the front desk seeking assistance and told them to urgently help as my flight boarding is half hour later. They shared the room had been occupied by new guests and if there is anything left by us the cleaner should have found it. I said I am in a high rush and why not you staff just escort me to go to the room and take a look. They said they need seek internal approvals and when the senior officer came out, she repeated the same words. All of them simply ignored that I was in rush and blindly asked me to be patient, and then they worked in an over-patient way by keeping me at the front desk area without any certainty. Finally I realized going to miss the air flight and had to leave. Half way back to airport they called my wife saying that they have found the jacket and that I am the wrong party who didn’t patiently wait for them to slowly slowly take their time. What a joke! Isn’t said by them that new guests have moved in and if there is anything left by us they should have found it? So now how did they find it out? And, I am the wrong party? I am supposed to wait for them to take time and miss air flight? What a lousy team! They should have worked as officials in a third-class country, who are good at killing time, twisting words and blaming others, rather than in the front line of a reputable hotel.

GGuest UserThe personnel is helpful and friendly. The location is perfect and the bar/club is always busy. You can eat, drink and party all at the same place.
The air conditioning in the rooms was a bit too strong, and there is no controller to modify it. It's a centralised system.
The bed has to be done by yourself when arriving. Finding it done would be appreciated. A shelf and individual light in the bed would be really useful.
The building is very big and has enough room in the common areas and kitchen (which is busy at any time).
Services are fine overall.

However, beware of the morning (ard 6:30am) house keeping if you wanna sleep in~ overall, I enjoyed staying there and had lot of fun in Cairns!

GGuest User1) It was a nightmare checking-in. I reached the hostel at 6:30pm and realized that there was no reception but to use Goki for checking-in. However, I received a notice from Goki that ”no reservation” after keying in my confirmation number. I got a shock and kept asking for help from strangers within the hostel. By the time I got it solved, it was like 8:30pm and I was starved to death.
2) Though Goki is an easy system but u need to bring your mobile everywhere you go even to the toilet eg shower (what happen if you forget to bring out the phone); there was a time my phone was almost out of battery (1% left) and I have to quickly charge it by borrowing charger from others.
3) There is no window in my room (single) and the air-con temperature is beyond my control
4) The reception area only opens till 2pm daily, after which you have to make call for any housekeeping services. It really pose inconveniences for first timer who wants to know about Cairns in terms of the directions, places of interests etc.
5) The location is excellent but I don't think I will recommend this hostel to my friends in future.

GGuest UserI arrived at the end of November, the beginning of the rainy season, and arrived at 4am in the pouring rain, and arrived at the hotel at around 6am. I was wondering what to do when the hotel was closed, but someone staying there opened it for me.
The hotel was clean and very relaxing.
They allowed me to check in early and were very accommodating, but there were almost no amenities, just a bar of soap, shampoo, and one small bottle of conditioner.
No towel changes or additional amenities for the first 7 days...
I thought it was humid in the summer, but I thought it can't be helped because towel changes are rarely done in Australia (due to water shortages and to protect resources).
I thought the location was about 10 minutes from the main area, but it was quite far with a stroller.
Considering the hotel staff's attitude and cleanliness, I think it was pretty good.

PPHILLIP JAMESThe Mantra Hotel has outstanding location. It is directly in front of the Woolworths supermarket - the best option in central Cairns. It's also virtually opposite (the esplanade side)the lagoon public beachfront swimming pool. Finally it's just a 5 minute walk from Cairns Cruise Terminal, with outstanding day trips to Green Island, Fitzroy Island and the Reef. I booked a sea view room. When you enter the room, you don't see the ocean, but a building across the road. However, the view from the balcony was amazing. The balcony overlooks the main features of lagoon on the sea front. During the day it is great view - the lagoon pools and sea in the background. At night you cannot see the sea (as to be expected) but you have the amazing lagoon lights, which makes it very desirable and even romantic. Our room was at the end of block, which overlooks a shopping mall (no car noise) - looking right from the balcony is the lagoon view and looking left is a mountain view. However, from 2:00pm to 6:00pm the sun comes directly into the balcony area, which means it unusable until sun sets. Of course if you don't mind baking in the sun on the balcony, this is not really a concern. The room itself is pretty basic. The mini fridge of OK and TV has domestic channels only - no cable TV for BBC/CNN. The bathroom is of a good size. There is combined shower & bath. However, when using the shower, it can slightly flood this bathroom. A shower curtain may be desirable because the glass panel is not sufficient enough. At $225 per night this hotel was not cheap and you can better deals by coming in the off-season OR going bit further down the esplanade, and choosing another hotel. The Mantra does have its own pool and it is wonderfully heated, with normal deck chairs you would expect at 4 star hotel. However, the pool gets very little natural sunlight, because it of its location between 2 buildings. Overall, the hotel has amazing location, and it is still recommended, despite the shortcomings mentioned. My final note: When we checked in, I was impressed with the level of service provided by the receptionist. She had a very welcome attitude and a wonderful personality.

IIfa JrLocation is good. It is a 10mins walk to the Lagoon. There is Woolsworth right infront of it. 10 mins walk to Cairns Central Shopping Centre where you can find K Mart & Target. The marina is also 10mins walk.

GGuest UserClean and tidy, complete facilities, and a good location. However, the front desk is not on duty 24 hours a day, which seems to be the case for local express hotels. If you need to store your luggage, it is inconvenient. After 4 o'clock, the front desk will not be able to take it out. If there is a one-day tour on the day of check-out, you need to plan the storage of your luggage carefully.
In addition, we booked it for Chinese food, but the Chinese restaurant was closed from Sunday afternoon to Tuesday morning (I can't remember the exact time), so we didn't eat it anyway. It is recommended to indicate the business hours of the Chinese restaurant in the hotel introduction.
