The room facilities were a bit cramped and basic, and transportation was limited to taxis. However, we were generally satisfied with our stay and would recommend it."

When we went to get it corrected, they not only put us in an oceanview room but also gave us free breakfast for two days. The staff was incredibly friendly. "We stayed in the lovely and spacious executive king room, but unfortunately had to move to a deluxe king room with a balcony on the second night due to the executive room being fully booked. We were somewhat disappointed as the deluxe room felt older and less well-maintained, a noticeable downgrade. However, we appreciated the convenient second-floor area with complimentary coffee, books, and games, and the hotel's location was ideal; close to restaurants and shops yet peaceful."

"This is a hotel that really wants to give a full five-star rating! Although it is only rated three stars, it actually has all the necessary facilities, is clean and tidy, and has large rooms. The suite living room also has a microwave and various tableware (no kitchenware, just plates, forks, spoons and other tableware). It is enough for tourists who do not pursue luxury and high-star enjoyment, and are more likely to play outside during the day and go back to the house to clean up and rest at night. It is very cost-effective. It takes about ten minutes to walk to the public swimming pool in the city center along the clean boardwalk. It is not too far in the tropics. You can borrow bath towels from the front desk instead of bringing your own. The most important thing is the first-class service. The staff are very warm and friendly. There are always people at the front desk to help you with any questions, especially Adrian and Gaia, who gave active and enthusiastic help in printing urgent documents and answering some local travel questions and booking cars."

"This booking is one of the rare ones I had serious dissatisfaction so I had to write a long review. First the information on the booking page is not fully transparent. We were only made aware that the 2 bedroom suite we booked does not offer daily room cleaning service. Cleaning service comes in only every 3 days of stay (so for 5 nights we stayed, the room was cleaned only once!) If this was well informed, I probably would not consider booking this room. Second, the service was almost non-existent. When they said clean towels can be offered upon request, the towels were literally left on the table top immediate behind the front door. On the “clean day”, we were amazed to find toilet brush and bin left on the closed toilet bowl, ants were spotted near the sink, tissue boxes were not refilled, and pillow cases had clear sign of dirty marks. Despite a 5-night stay, hotel didn’t allow any late check out beyond 12pm. Front desk insisted an hourly fee and different people were giving different fee rates. This was again confusing and disappointing. Pls also note overnight parking is charged at $12 per night. Breakfast offered at $28/pax had limited choices (basic international breakfast) Other than above, the room is generally clean. We didn’t have a chance to explore other parts of the hotel so no comment on the amenities. The location was fantastic, within walking distance to the pier and good selection of food options."

"The hotel boasts a distinctive decor style, and the room service was excellent. Arranging an extra bed was also very convenient. However, a common issue with beachfront hotels in Cairns is slightly damp bedding, and unfortunately, The Flynn was no exception. Additionally, the lighting in the Master Room was a little on the dim side."

"I stayed here twice - the first time, an ordinary room, the 2nd time, I thought maybe the Horizon Club might be a higher level. Before I say anything, I may choose to stay again for the location! This property is not 'Shangri-LA' as you would expect - the windows are all dirty which is disappointing for 'Marina View' rooms... The Horizon lounge furniture is closer to school lunch hall style, and the dinner - well, I don't eat in food halls with sausage rolls and spring rolls. We ate in the main street which was AWESOME!. The ping pong table is bent, bats are without surface, and the air hockey machine without pucks.. Basically a 'cashing in on the brand' experience..."
