What a remarkable experience! The inability to find words speaks volumes. Everything was flawless, meeting high Western standards. Additionally, we inadvertently left a sweater in the room as we continued to Tokyo. Upon contacting the hotel, the staff were immensely helpful in resolving the issue. They efficiently arranged for the sweater to be delivered to Tokyo, saving us considerable effort and allowing us to continue our journey peacefully. The service was exceptional, especially considering that the responsibility was entirely ours. Absolutely outstanding service..

I'm glad we were able to stay at the coveted Kanaya Hotel. The hotel's interior and the service from the hotel staff were excellent. The hotel staff provided a tour of the hotel, explaining the hotel's history and features, as well as the famous people who have stayed there. We were able to once again appreciate just how wonderful the hotel is. It will be a lifelong memory for my husband and I. We hope to come and stay here again someday.

My wife and I booked the Nikko Station Hotel II for April 13 - 15 as a non refundable reservation. This week, the US State Dept issued a Level 4 warning for all US citizens to avoid international travel due to the COVID-19 pandemic. In spite of their normal policy, the Nikko Station Hotel II made an exception due to the COVID-19 pandemic and issued a full refund. We will reschedule our trip to Japan after the pandemic passes and WILL DEFINITELY rebook at the Nikko Station Hotel II, as they have shown excellent customer service in a difficult time!

I used it for 1 night and 2 days without meals. Kinugawa, a famous lodging destination in Tochigi Prefecture, costs an astonishingly low price of 9,200 yen for two adults. Since we were staying without meals this time, we didn't have meals included, but Hotel Otaki doesn't provide meals, so you can move to the annex and eat your meals. There are no shopping places or restaurants in the area, so if you are staying overnight without meals, we recommend purchasing food and drinks in advance before checking in. Snacks, cup noodles, vending machines, etc. are available at the front desk, but they are expensive. To take a bath, you need to go outside and go to the large communal bath in the annex, but you can relax and enjoy the hot spring water with its quality and texture. In addition, the guest rooms have separate baths and toilets, so they are clean and beautiful, so it is recommended for those who cannot take a bath in the large public bath. Now, regarding the most important guest room, it was a 10 tatami room which was too large for two people. Unfortunately, it is not facing the river, so the view is not very good, but you can relax on the wide veranda while looking at the mountains surrounding the Kinugawa River. The air conditioning and heating system was old and installed on the floor, but it was very effective and there was also a fan, so you could adjust the temperature of the entire room. The only thing I didn't like was that the toilets on the lobby floor had wallets, but the toilets in the guest rooms didn't have washlets. If you really want to use your wallet, use the communal toilets on each floor. Now, for the important room.

Very old school ryokan run by very friendly who has been working there for many years. Your name will be displayed on the board next to the entrance of the ryokan to show that they were currently welcoming these guests staying at the ryokan! We stayed there for 2 nights with free parking and we didn’t have to drive anywhere until we checked out as the ryokan is within walking distance to the 3 major world heritage listed shrines including The Toshogu Palace. Avoid room 312 or 313 (which we stayed) which are the smallest rooms. Those rooms in the middle parts are bigger and more comfortable. Do ask for any room facing the back of the ryokan and avoid those facing the front where you only see car parks with coaches coming in the morning bringing tourists to the shrines. The onsite Onsen for ryokan guests, breakfasts and dinners are the highlights. You’d love the traditional Japanese meals served there and you won’t be hungry. Would I come back to this ryokan again? Yes definitely due to its location and friendly staff.

The room was smaller than I expected. The brown rice tea in the room was fragrant and delicious, but is that all? The inside of the hotel was carefully cleaned, there was a microwave oven and a relaxation room, and everything we needed was there. ”I'm not a member, so I'm not familiar with the system, but it seems that there are rooms with kitchenettes.” Rather than the hotel here, the Kinugawa Onsen station and the area around the hotel are too desolate. Sometimes it's closed and the fun is thin. In front of Kinugawa Onsen Station, all the restaurants are closed at 5:00 in the evening, and if you want to shop, there is only Lawson, which is about a 6-minute walk away. Compared to Nikko Station, it is surprisingly inconvenient. I don't think I'll go again... The dinner buffet was delicious, and if it were a hotel dinner, it wouldn't be expensive, but Kinugawa Onsen itself is too lonely, which is a shame. Maybe it's because I visited out of season. During the fall foliage and fresh green season, you can choose various activities and sightseeing.

The special thing is the meal! There was a mass and a cow fin at night! The vessel was beautiful, and the dessert was beautifully colored at the end of the course dish, and the morning omelette was fluffy and the bread was very delicious. The morning dessert was decorated with an artistic cut like sitting at the bar counter and made me enjoy my eyes. The room was very clean and the bed hardness was good and I could sleep well. The owner and the staff were bright and comfortable, and the care was warm and I was able to spend very comfortably.

LLIHONGVery comfortable hotel experience, we stayed for two nights. This home is not central in the daylight, but not far from the main attractions. After booking, the hotel will send an email to inform you of the check-in details. Upon arrival at the Nikko Station, you will be picked up by car. Checkin first sent a drink, sparkling champagne and matcha are very good, and the 跪 service is very thoughtful. We chose two Western-style beds plus tatami. The name of the guest will be affixed to the door of the room. The two people sleep very much. The outside is a beautiful courtyard view. Each room has an independent hot spring. In fact, there are basically no people in the big bath. (Because the hotel rooms are not too much), they are basically exclusive. At the hotel, I tasted two Kaiseki dinners and breakfasts. The patterns were different and the roads were delicious. Each room was arranged in a small box and the privacy was very good. In the morning, there are milk and wheat tea in the hot springs. In the morning, I can go to the sights to play and there are cars that can be sent to the Toshogu Shrine. In the afternoon, I am tired and make a phone call. I immediately have a car to pick up the cards at the designated place. It is also very thoughtful. In short, it is definitely a good hotel that I would recommend to my friends.

GGuest UserThe hotel is in a good location. There are all scenic spots nearby, which can be reached on foot. The hotel toilet has also been renovated, which feels good. You can take a bus from the train station to Station 8, Yasukawa-cho, and walk 2 minutes to the hotel after getting off. At the same time, you can take a bus directly to Lake Chuzenji from the hotel, which is about 45 minutes away. The food in the store is mainly local specialty soy products, which are relatively light. The hotel also has a shuttle bus to the train station. Please see the photos I shared for the specific time. Overall, it is quite satisfactory and worthy of the price. There is no better hotel nearby, so it is also one of the must-stay hotels in Nikko. If you want to be more upscale, you have to choose the Ritz-Carlton on the side of Lake Chuzenji.

GGuest UserThis is my third trip/adventure to Japan. I would say as a solo traveler this has to be one of the very best places I have ever stayed in when travelling around Japan. I came to Nikko np to explore the vast array of hiking trails, all of which I did, had breathtaking views and a poetic, truly majestic Japanese feel to them. I rented a car from Nasushiobara (Shinkansen) and drove across to Kinugawa. On arrival I was greeted by a host of the hotel staff, welcoming me and helping me with parking and my bags. I checked in with ease and with some broken English and Japanese on my part was led to a beautiful traditional Japanese style room overlooking the river. The service throughout was world class and made me feel both very comfortable, at home, but also special. I stayed 3 nights with half board (breakfast and dinner), both truly amazing and served with grace and politeness. On the first evening’s dinner one of the serving staff took the time to speak with me and allowed me to share some of my recent experiences/photos etc whilst preparing dinner - this was most welcome, especially as I had been travelling alone for over a week. The location of the onsen hotel is about 60 mins drive to some of the most sought after walks in the np. Very easy to access by car and excellent roads. The accommodation itself is a mix between very traditional Japanese resort and original/boutique Ryokan. The private and public onsen’s are fantastic and a well deserved rest-bite after a long days hiking! Having been to some of the most popular ryokan’s in Japan; Iwaso, Claska etc, this came as a very nice surprise and at an affordable rate without any compromise. If in the area, I would highly recommend staying…

GGuest UserArrived at Hotel and parked the rental car in the car park for free. Staff were very efficient and check in was very quick. Japan is still very Covid conscious and masks are worn everywhere. We were advised that there were were facilities for making Tea/ coffee in the room and that we should take any provisions required (for free) from the table arranged in the lobby i.e. tea / coffee / toothbrushes..etc. Room was lovely and spacious with a comfortable bed and lovely en-suite- lovely deep bath (shower fixings would be low for taller individuals). They had an evening bar and Onsen (natural hot water spring separate for males and females). They had a restaurant that provided an extensive buffet menu for breakfast - very tasty, and they had a select menu for the evenings and what we tried was very tasty also. The staff in the Hotel and restaurant were most friendly and encouraged me when I attempted some Japanese words. A very lovely start to our holiday in Japan - Thank you for your hospitality, we would happily stay here again

I went with 4 family members. It was cheap for half board per night, so I was a little worried, but I was worried. The room had the next room like a mahjong room. It was a room that I had been to a company on a employee trip around the Showa era. It was old, but there was no problem with cleaning, and the mountain stream was overlooked and the view was good. The meal is buffet style. Alcohol is an extra charge, and there is an all-you-can-drink plan for 60 or 90 minutes, and it is better for those who say that it is alcohol. I had a 90-minute all-you-can-drink plan and enjoyed eating for 90 minutes. There were quite a few types of dinner and breakfast, and I enjoyed various things according to my taste. Maybe it was due to the time, but the meal and the hot springs were soaked that I was able to relax.

GGuest UserI like the hotel very much. The price/performance ratio is very high. Although the hardware is not very new, the service and atmosphere are really considerate. There are drinks in the lobby, mulled wine and coffee, and a big stove. Come in and sit in the snow. It's so warm and feels like home. ! There is a way to get in from the main road, but there is a shuttle bus, and the uncles and sisters who drive are very nice. One day after hiking, I got off the bus and was thinking that there was still 500 meters of uphill to go back to the hotel when I saw a car next to me coming to pick us up. Oh, I was so moved instantly! It turns out that the bus goes back and forth and waits at the station. Remember that stop is 33A. Dinner is different every day. We stayed for three days, so it was quite satisfactory! Bathing in the hot spring is very good, I especially like the open-air one. There are woods outside. By the way, there are monkeys in the woods, a group of them, they live in harmony! My friend said that he must ask me to mention that there are little baskets to store clothes and other things when bathing. This is very thoughtful.

I went with my husband and we loved the pool outside, with a great view, warm water. The pool inside is also great , with umbrella decorations but we prefered the ouside pool. The dinner was great with a wide variety of foods, it slso includes one hour of free alcohol drink. The futons were very good and our room had an exceptional view. The breakfast was also very good. I would like to stay more than one night to enjoy the inside pool. We want to return again.

EearlkeenIt was a visit to the open-air bath with a room, and it was a way to use it outside the room except for the meal. The members were young and cold with rain. If it is not cold outside, it is information that is not necessary. The shower and bathtub are completely outside. Accumulate hot water by yourself in a wooden bathtub. There is a pipe with a faucet that comes out of the source of 42 degrees as it is, and a silver faucet that comes out of the source heated to 60 degrees. The heating faucet is expected, but because of the tank type, if it exceeds a certain amount, hot water will not come out. It seems that it is safe to remove the peak time zone. Check in at 15 o'clock and take a bath immediately. It is difficult to warm the low temperature from later, so the heating faucet is twisted with the source pipe, and it is a little hot while adjusting. (If you don't want to adjust it, you can store it with a pipe and then use a heating faucet.) When the bath is taken, you will use the shower immediately. It's cold on a cold day, so it's cold on a cold mountain, so it's still cold when the temperature is high. The wooden bathtub is always outside, so it's cold. When you take the first bath, you feel cold little by little when you put your butt and back on. Reserve the bath → After use, do not drain the remaining hot water → Just before the second cup is stored, and do the bath → Repeat If you use the remaining hot water (water) to keep the wooden bathtub warm, after the second time, The coldness of the tree is eliminated. The morning and evening Viking is good to go at the same time as the start. The reason will be described later. I remember the time, but I think it was the last time to enter at 18:00 〜 19:30, 7:30 〜 9:00. It is an impression that there is a menu without shortage in compact. You can choose all at the same time as the start. Even if the replenishment is not caught up and cut, please replenish it immediately. However, some of them are determined, such as fresh fish. Some of them are very popular and delicious, and they may not be available on the day. I want to choose rice color 々! Let's go at the same time as the start. There is no DVD player in the room, so if you watch DVD, please use Hotel Euro City. There is a TV. The HDMI hole for the fire TV stick was easy to clean because of the dust and poor contact. If you don't want to do it yourself, you should ask for the cleaning behind the TV in advance. Our room was devised to spend easily in one room. The dressing room and bathroom area can be partitioned with curtains. For sleeping, there was a cloth blind that could be opened and closed on the entrance door side from the bed. There is also a return transfer. I think it was 9:00, 9:30 and 10:00. We will guide you at check-in, but please check every time because I think it depends on the time and the number of all guests. The staff's response is great. I will use it again.
