"The staff was very friendly, the place clean and quiet, and the room pretty standard fare. Breakfast included is a nice touch (the coffee was actually way better than I'd expect it to be for a buffet).
Only downside was the pool was closed the weekend of our stay, unfortunately. Didn't get any warning beforehand, or offers of compensation, but not the end of the world."

The river is a walk of less than 4 min south. Just over a staggering 2000 sq ft (this does not include the basement which is off limits), the VV is ideal for large groups. It is also a great choice for your vacation destination. This townhouse has all the coziness of a cottage with friendly neighbours ... one of which is MYSELF! ;o) How many STR properties can claim that? Situated in the heart of Brockville's historical district, you will be immersed in the architectural splendour of the 1800s! Leave your car in the driveway as you walk to all the amazing amenities this world-renowned Thousand Islands city has to offer.Your visit will begin with a smile as you read the metal plate on the front door. No, I won't tell you what it says as it's more fun to find that out when you get here! Once inside you will bask in the majesty of 19th century England with soaring 11ft ceilings and regal features. Many rooms have chandeliers and exquisite woodworking with ginger breading, rosettes, wainscotting etc being evident throughout. Built in 1884 (ie horse-drawn wagons brought the lumber, iron and stone used to build it!), this is a house Charles Dickens himself would have been proud to call home! Most of the furniture is period accurate and reflect the stylings seen on YouTube channels like "This House". Don't be fooled though! You will get the best of both worlds as you enjoy the wi-fi and 55" TV (with 7.1 surround sound stereo) along with other modern conveniences like a fully equipped kitchen.Grab the baskets from the front coat closet and take them across the street for a picnic in the park! "Unexpectedly beautiful. I forgot my glasses before leaving. The hotel quickly left a message after I found it. I returned a few days later and felt the responsibility and sincerity of the hotel. Next time I go to Brockville, I will stay at this historic hotel. It was once a bank, and the safe inside was kept intact; kitchen utensils, coffee, snacks were perfect, and a can of local beer was presented, which was the best hotel in the east and the best in the local area."
"Go to Quebec City for a night off, very close to the 401 highway, quiet and clean, breakfast is good. The room is big enough, the bed is comfortable, and the price is cheaper than the same hotel in the big city next to it."
"The hotel is old, breakfast is average, and the price is cheap. But parking is convenient' next door to the supermarket, the park and the river bank are beautiful, the church and government unit buildings are beautiful!"

"Arrived late at night, check-in was quick and easy, the room was clean, and got everything we needed. Kids love the swimming pool. Breakfast was good, staffs are very nice and helpful. A/C was loud, but our kids were able to sleep through it, so it was not a big issue. Overall, a friendly, simple accommodation , we were happy with our stay."
