"We had a fantastic stay at this hotel in Beppu and would highly recommend it to anyone visiting the area. The location is absolutely ideal — centrally situated and within easy reach of popular attractions like Beppu Station, the hot spring districts, and local dining spots. Whether you’re exploring the “hells” of Beppu or heading to nearby onsens, everything is just a short drive or walk away. The room was perfect for our group of three. It was spacious, well-designed, and equipped with all the necessary amenities. The beds and futons were very comfortable, and the overall atmosphere was cozy and quiet — great for resting after a long day of sightseeing. We appreciated the thoughtful touches like extra towels, slippers, and good quality toiletries. One of the biggest highlights was the bathroom. Ours had a large window overlooking the city and surrounding hills — soaking in the tub while enjoying the view was a real treat and added a luxurious touch to the stay."

"Absolutely fantastic! Highly recommended it to anyone going to Beppu. The location is very convenient, right next to Beppu Station. It's easy to get there from anywhere. The family room has four single beds with a partition in the middle, and the whole family agreed that this was the best hotel we stayed at during our entire trip to Kyushu. The breakfast offers many options, and in the evening, there are ramen and ice cream. Although we didn't have time to wait for the private hot spring, the public baths were very satisfying! There are both outdoor and indoor baths, allowing us to completely relax after a tiring day. This hotel is definitely a must-stay when visiting Beppu."

"The atmosphere was very relaxing and chill — perfect for couple and a group getaway. The staff were friendly and very helpful throughout our stay. One little thing - the bathroom door of this room type is somehow translucent sliding door, no lock, which can be a bit uncomfortable when staying with a group. A normal one would offer more privacy. Overall, a great experience!"

"I've stayed at Beppu Kamenoi Hotel multiple times, and it consistently delivers a great experience. The hotel is quite large. While it's an older property and some of the facilities show their age, it's very well-maintained and impeccably clean. The hotel's onsen (hot springs) are a major highlight – absolutely fantastic for melting away fatigue. Inside the hotel, there are several restaurants, all serving delicious food at reasonable prices. Its location is superb, just a few minutes' walk from the JR station, making it incredibly convenient for travel. We made good use of our JR Pass to easily visit Oita and Kokura."

"Fantastic service from super hotel. Location is very convenient around five minutes walk from Beppu station. Lobby is located on level two so you will need to take a lift. However the service is amazing. There are welcome drinks when you arrive. I believe there’s alcoholic drinks as well during a certain period as well between 6-9pm. You’re also able to select your Pillow according to its hardness or preferences and you can choose up to 5 amenity items these include facial mask, vitamin C serums to shavers etc. Because it is Beppu there is Also hot spring. however I would probably have liked to have it a bit bigger pool and to have an outdoor spa. All in all it was much value for money and I would go there again."

Awesome lobby, incredible seaview, great service, competent and very polite staff, good food, room very clean, onsen is great with free branded amenities choices 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻. location is a bit off, fortunately have shuttle. Special thanks to Harada san 👍🏻👍🏻 helped to arrange smooth transfer from hotel to airport. Appreciate the hospitality from quite a number of multilingual staff 👏🏻👏🏻. Onsen is great, unlimited free drinks! 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻coffee, coke, green tea, etc 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻 Breakfast is good, value for money, nice to try. Dinner is 90-mins semi buffet, no choice for the set, special arrangement if you don’t eat beef, but take some time. Lots of wine varieties, if you don’t drink alcohol, the dinner price is NOT worth. My comment: Highly recommended. need to have car, my case is with sudden car break down with no replacement. Grandvrio did a great job!👏🏻👏🏻"

"The room is very big, with dry and wet separation. You have to take off your shoes in a Japanese hotel. The whole hotel is well designed. There is also a hot spring bath, which can be taken in the morning and evening. The schedule was too tight and I didn't experience the matcha activity."

"The Hotel, Grand Mercure Beppu Bay Resort and Spa has lots of things to do. I will start at the entrance. At the entrance, there is a helper which brings your bags to a cart. You have to drag your cart to the check in. At the right side, there is a swimming pool. At the left side, there is a store with Claw machines and snacks. When you finish doing the check in, You have to carry the cart in the elevator and up to your room. At the 3 rd floor, there is a playroom. At the underground level, there is an public onsen and changing room. In the 2 floor, there is a big restaurant. I think the food is so good but it closes to fast (9.30). We can walk to 7 but we have to walk down and up a small hill."

"The hotel is incredibly clean, and the rooms are beautifully traditional Japanese-style. Unfortunately, many hotels in Japan nowadays no longer retain traditional room styles, which I find very regrettable. Japan should strive to preserve its cultural heritage rather than blindly renovating everything into a 'nightclub style'. A hotel in Japan should authentically represent Japan, preferably offering traditional tatami rooms. What's more, the price is quite reasonable."
