The price-performance ratio is very high, and I can give a very high evaluation. When I checked in in the morning, the front desk lady helped me upgrade the room type for free, but it is not just because of the upgrade that the hotel itself deserves five stars in all conditions.

JJu13The hotel is very close to the Baotou east railway station. It is easily accessible by Taxis. A lot of places to eat are nearby. It was a bit difficult with English, as our Chinese language skills aren't that great; it is good to have a (offline) working Translation App. The staff was very helpful nonetheless.
The breakfast is Chinese food buffet, several choices and a very reasonable price.
The room was spacious and clean.
A second chair for 2 person was the only thing we were missing ;)

From the pre-arrival call before the hotel, the guest relations lady Bai Huimin asked us when we would arrive, what our room requirements were, and whether we needed an invoice. We called the front desk and they always came on call. The breakfast variety was also very rich. At this price, this kind of service is second to none in Baotou. The location is very superior, the facilities and equipment in the room are very complete, and the hygiene is very good! GGuest UserThis is my first time to travel to Inner Mongolia! We stayed in a yurt. The boss not only picked us up from Hohhot to the grassland, but also took us around the grassland. We didn't sign up for any tour group, but the grassland is really vast. If the boss didn't lead the way, we wouldn't be able to walk through so many places.
The boss drove us to the horse riding field and performance venue he recommended. We chose a horse riding project that cost 300 yuan per hour and included taking photos. It was really a great experience. The horses were very docile, didn't run around, and walked very steadily. There was also a coach accompanying us all the way, so even beginners had no problem at all!
At noon, we had lunch in a yurt near the horse riding field. There was stewed mutton, sand onions, steamed buns and beer. The sand onions were very delicious. I personally liked it very much! The performance was also very exciting, with very high skills, which was very touching.
For dinner, we attended the horse-stealing banquet, changed into traditional Mongolian costumes, and watched the performance while drinking and eating. It is said that Mongolians can make three different sounds. We also heard their unique throat singing on the spot, which was so shocking!
The yurt we stayed in was very clean, with card locks and automatic door locks, and very safe. Although there was no refrigerator, the owner helped us put the beer in his place, and the service was very considerate. There is also a bar nearby where you can drink and sing karaoke.
There will be a bonfire party and DJ music starting at 9 pm. Everyone dances together and the atmosphere is so exciting!
The grassland is really too big. It is difficult to walk through it by yourself without a familiar person to lead the way. I think it’s also good to sign up for a group, but if you can find a reliable person to lead the way, you will be more free to arrange your own time and experience it more deeply. In addition, the quality of yurts varies greatly. Some have no place to take a shower, or the equipment is broken and cannot be used. When booking, you must avoid those low-quality tour groups.
If you are worried, you can contact the owner of the yurt we stayed in this time. He is very good and you can ask him the most recommended way. After leaving the grassland, my friend and I kept saying along the way: ”I really want to see the boss again. It’s really great to meet him. I want to start this trip again from the moment I met him.”

CCarlaOur experience was truly memorable! From the moment we arrived, we were warmly welcomed with horse wine and traditional music, which set the tone for the trip. The check-in process was seamless, and the staff were exceptionally friendly, offering us a variety of activities right away.
Shortly after arrival, we went horseback riding through the beautiful fields. Following that, we visited a nearby area with an array of activities like tea tasting, dressing up in traditional Mongolian clothing, archery, and viewing livestock. There was also an option to watch a horse riding show, but we decided to skip it as we were a bit tired.
The room was cozy, beautifully decorated, and had everything we needed for a comfortable stay. Even though it was cold outside, the heating kept the space warm, making it a perfect retreat after a long day of activities. It added a charming touch to the overall experience.
In the evening, there was a large yurt on the premises where we enjoyed an authentic Mongolian dinner accompanied by a captivating live show. The night ended with fireworks, a bonfire, and more entertainment, making it a truly unforgettable experience.
I highly recommend this place if you want a well-organized and immersive experience. Even though we don’t speak Chinese, communication was never an issue, and we always felt welcomed. A big thank you to the team for taking such great care of us!

YYoke HongBeautiful resort in the Xilamuren grasslands, with a mix of traditional yurts and unique modern-styled accommodations. I stayed in both types of accommodation and both were very comfortable. Full length windows offer views of the expansive grasslands in the day, while the yurts also have a unique skyroof design for stargazing on clearer nights.
Breakfast was quite simple local fare, mainly porridge with sides like pickles and egg, very filling. Lunch and dinner is not inclusive but there is a large menu that you can order from. The resort also has its own bar! I believe it is open nightly during the peak season of July/August, and depending on guest volumes at other times.
The boss Mr Da and his staff were so welcoming and kind. I travelled solo, and they added me on WeChat so that I could easily reach them if I had any questions or needs. Boss Da also very kindly took me to a few local sights and spots, since I did not have my own means of transport (感谢达老板!). Overall, I really enjoyed my stay at the resort. If I were to visit Xilamuren again, Xilamuren Grassland Mongolian Holy Land Resort would definitely be my accommodation of choice.

MM.O.T.A.S around the worldThe yurts are a modern twist on the traditional yurts, these are more like hotel suites with a bathroom and separate shower within the yurt, a good feature if you are not looking for the authentic yurt experience. The drive to the grounds is very rural and you will drive past beautiful countryside scenery. within the grounds itself there isnt much to do, the owner will take you to neighbouring yurt hotels for bonfire, music and dance shows. On our drive back to Hohhot saw many other yurt complexes with more amenities (I don't know what the price difference is) and can't complain about the service, staff were very helpful and kind.
