Best Langkawi Hotels

"Booked Malibest Resort for my missus, sister-in-law, and our two little ones for a 3-night break. They paid RM100 deposit for two rooms. They asked for connecting rooms, but due to peak season, the hotel could only offer nearby rooms on the same floor with another guest in between. Staff said we could swap if the middle room became free, but the guest stayed longer, so no luck—but it was fine. The hotel’s right in the heart of Cenang, and with peak season in full swing, it was packed. They hired a car to explore Langkawi, but parking was tricky—no private lot, so had to leave the car on the far side street or at the nearby mall (RM20 overnight). A few times they used Grab instead, which made the car rental feel a bit wasted. Location-wise, it’s spot-on. Loads of duty-free shops, food places, and just steps from the beach. They walked to Underwater World too. The area’s buzzing with tourists, both local and international. Rooms were clean and quiet. The pool was sandy at the bottom—likely from beachgoers jumping in without rinsing. Inside the room, all the basics were covered: towels, shampoo, body wash, a fridge for takeaway, water boiler for coffee, and a telly with YouTube (which the kids loved). Also, it’s close to the airport—so no stress about getting there on time. Overall, a solid stay with great location and helpful staff. A few hiccups, but the family had a lovely time."

"If you are looking for a place close to the sea, with a real pool for the children and adults as well this hotel is great for your familly trip specially if you have little kiddos. The service is efficient and all the personel are amazingly warm, helpful and réactive to your needs. A warmth thanks to all of you. Rooms are clean and the breakfast is diverse and delicious. The rooms have sufficiently space missing part is the coffee machine that it is missing. Also no bathroom where you can rest and enjoy hot bath but instead, a huge space to have your shower. Regarding the amenities ,the sport room is great but, I will have move it to have the view of the sea,instead of the current place. The spa is really simple, not so cosy and fancy, no as expected for a 5 stars. For me, the missing part is the hotel's place: close to the city , the aerport, , many construction around, far from the forest. For me, it is more a 4 stars hotel but not a real 5 one that take you breath as you can expect in this environement, so to say. As a conclusion , If you are looking for a place to rest, restore, regain energy, I don't think it is the right place. If you are looking for a place to enjoy with your children then , Parkroyal is the right one. Being as well very close, almost attached to a conference center, is a great hotel for the guests."

"Our stay was most enjoyable - a very pleasant hotel with friendly and helpful staff. Well designed hotel with few pretentions, offering comfort and good service. Hotel room - Simple, spacious with good modern facilities. Good, well-designed Breakfast area - Breakfast facilities are very good, with good selection of well prepared food (including an egg station), with thoughtful variations from day to day. The manager in charge of breakfast is attentive, efficient and friendly. Well-designed Bar and pool area, which provides live entertainment (including movie nights with free popcorn). Although on a busy road, it was quiet. Hotel has an outlook (to the rear) from the swimming pool area across to the quiet fields and lush green hills (we enjoyed the sighting of cows and birds in the background). Special mention of Mr Mokthar at Front Desk - he is personable, experienced, helpful and made us feel welcome the moment we stepped in. He is a valuable asset to Bayou hotel. Thank you for a memorable stay."

"This was hands down the most satisfying hotel of our trip to Malaysia, and my friends were equally impressed. The service was impeccable, and the amenities were top-notch. Our rooms were individual wooden chalets, which made them incredibly quiet, and the surroundings were absolutely beautiful. Our sea-view room opened directly onto the ocean; it was bright, spacious, and had a generously sized bathroom. Each independent chalet comprised multiple rooms. They provided four complimentary bottles of water, with more available upon request. The hotel also offered free yoga classes. Unfortunately, we only stayed for two nights and didn't get to experience many of the facilities. Breakfast at the hotel was excellent, with two restaurants offering different cuisines. The Asian restaurant had tastier food, but the American restaurant boasted unparalleled views, being right by the sea and allowing you to enjoy breakfast facing the ocean. I couldn't resist the shrimp noodles at the Asian restaurant, so I ended up eating there for both days. The hotel features two very clean swimming pools, a beautiful artificial lake, and various other recreational facilities. Water sports bookings were available right next to the hotel, including banana boat rides and jet skiing. Next time, I'll definitely come just to relax and fully enjoy the hotel's offerings."

"Loved this hotel. We stayed in the Junior suite with an amazing sea view, had a balcony to enjoy the beautiful sunsets. Bathroom was great, had all amenities that we needed. Rooftop pool and gym was also used many times, would stay again next time if we come back! Ps. Make sure you add the breakfast option, great variety"

"Very nice hotel close to the beach and the restaurant road. Free parking. Nice balcony in the room. Fridge. Very good air condition that was silent but effective without blowing on the bed. One welcome drink. Buffet dinner costs 80 RM (if you want a la carte, you have to wait around one hour for the food), and breakfast buffet 48 RM. There are many cafés and restaurants as alternative to the hotel breakfast. OK gym with dumbbells up to 25kg. We booked a room superior with seaview."

"Facilities: They're just okay, typical of a basic business hotel. Nothing to write home about. Cleanliness: Extremely poor, especially the bedding. It felt old and clearly hasn't been updated or thoroughly cleaned often. Location: The only good thing is its convenience. It's right across from the beach, less than 100 meters away. Service: Pretty average. Don't set your expectations too high."

"The beach view and overall atmosphere were absolutely premium. However, the cleanliness inside the hotel was rather disappointing. The floor seemed uncleaned, there were unwashed lizard droppings, and the coffee machine hadn’t been cleaned, leaving an unpleasant smell. Still, I would return and try a different room because the view is truly unique."

"Room: I would say the room itself is fine, quite modern and I LOVE the view, really pretty tower in front of us, but the tv is wayyyy too small for a room this size, we have to squint my eyes to watch a tv. Hygiene & Condition: The hotel is obviously old, the panels and metal parts in the shower are all rusted, definitely not the most hygienic stay, there was a cockroach at some point of our stay and that really put me off. They have both a shower and a bath which is nice to have. Service & Buffet: The breakfast was not very tasty, more for Indian palate I presume, it was very chaotic and the service is really bad, we asked for a fork, apparently there was some dessert forks at the buffet area, but we didn’t see, then the waitress end up shoving the whole container of dessert forks in our face with attitude.. bad service I would say. I would not really stay here but location wise is pretty nice if you would like to explore Kuah Town."

"very simple and clean budget hotel, service very good and friendly. allow late check out untill 1pm. locate in the center of cenang beach, near to all duty free shop and restaurants."
