Great
IiamnotdelicateThe basic room type isn't in the main building; you have to walk up to the main building each time to have breakfast or soak in the onsen (hot spring). And it's not a real onsen; my friend's superior room was the real onsen. We were given a small room at the back of the hotel, but thankfully there weren't too many graves.
When I asked the staff at the entrance to take photos for me, they were very reluctant and had a sour face. At night, on my way back to my room from my friend's, the receptionist on duty in the lobby was also very rude. Overall, I was dissatisfied with the service.
The facilities are excellent, very new, and the hotel is quite small, but that's typical for Japanese hotels. The decor is also very nice; the aesthetics are on point.
There are at least three cemeteries and a bunch of shrines nearby; bring some amulets if you like.
MMr. KennyMy stay at HOTEL ALA KYOTO was excellent overall. The room was quite spacious for Japan; I could easily open a large suitcase and still move around without feeling cramped. The bed was incredibly comfortable – I slept soundly through the night without waking up once.
The biggest bonus was the hotel's onsen facilities. After walking around Kyoto all day, being able to relax in a hot spring at night was incredibly refreshing and truly completed the travel experience! I'll definitely be back.

MMiiiii08I brought my parents to Kyoto and we stayed at this hotel. The triple room was incredibly spacious, much larger than the double rooms I've stayed in before. It was clean and tidy, with excellent hygiene. The private onsen comes highly recommended! My parents also had a fantastic stay. All in all, it's a perfect score!
Service: Check-in was at 3 PM, and the front desk service was thoughtful and thorough. They explained the hotel facilities very clearly. (If you don't speak Japanese, there are staff who speak English.)
Facilities: It's a very traditional Japanese-style room, which my parents loved. The public bathing area was also very clean, and the private onsen was super comfortable. The hotel signage was clear, and every detail was meticulously thought out – really impressive!
Breakfast: The buffet breakfast offered a wide and diverse selection, with both Western and Japanese options, and plenty of delicious desserts! We were absolutely stuffed~

JJncl1206More than 5 times to stayed in this hotel. Everything is perfect. It’s just 5-8 minutes walk from Kyoto JR station. The Onsen is perfect. You can enjoy Onsen overnight until next day morning, so if you come back late you can still enjoy the Onsen. Free ramen offered from 21:00-23:00, which is very delicious, and the hotel breakfast is Perfect too. There is Sashimi Bowl.
Room is clean as always and this time the view is very good we can see Kyoto Tower.
The staff in this hotel can speak very good English, and very nice and helpful.

MMumutu0417My Kyoto trip was particularly satisfying with this Kyoto townhouse. It had a garden, a private hot spring bath, and was brimming with Japanese charm. The breakfasts were especially delightful, with a wide variety and different dishes each day. After breakfast, there was also a traditional Kyoto matcha and carefully selected sweets; the owner even patiently explained the proper way to drink the matcha.
It's a bit far from the subway, but there are several bus stops nearby, making it quite convenient. Strolling along Kyoto's charming streets and discovering hidden gems of little shops was also a delightful experience.
DDmitry NateWe stayed at this guest house in early March. We were delighted! The guest house is located near the bus stop, you can walk and enjoy the views of the village. There is also a transfer. The dinner was simply gorgeous, delicious miso, a large selection of vegetables and broths. Breakfast was also good, although not so varied. Very beautiful garden. The guest house itself is in a traditional style 😍 the owner gave us instructions and a tour, was very polite and friendly. The guest house has some rules, for example, keeping quiet, which creates an atmosphere of complete relaxation. The room itself is clean, the bed linen is fresh, there are instructions on how to lay out the futon. We were given yukatas and warm sweaters, towels and accessories for washing and brushing teeth. There are hair dryers too. There are two onsen, male and female, they alternate to visit each. When we were there, the onsen opened on schedule, but there is enough time to stay. The barrel with hot water is simply gorgeous, in the open air, around the forest. It is forbidden to take photos and videos on the onsen territory. Sorry for breaking the rules, but I wanted to capture this beauty at a time when no one was there. The only thing I missed was some kind of bench next to the onsen in the open air so that you could cool off and sit in the hot water again. But this is probably a purely Russian habit.
We were very pleased with our stay in this guest house.
GGuest UserWe took a taxi to this location because it was a little too far by bus, and we had all of our luggage with us. The location is beautiful. If you're only staying for one night like we did, then you should check in at the earliest (3:00 pm) so you can explore the local area. There are some really nice shrines nearby. We were only able to do this after breakfast the next morning. We also had to be out by 10:00 am, which surprised us because it was listed as 11:00 am on Trip.com. You will be served traditional Japanese cuisine for dinner and breakfast. They do an excellent job of presenting all of the dishes, and the service is also incredible. But if you're not used to eating raw fish, or traditional Japanese cuisine in general, you should definitely bring your own snacks to eat in your room! We stayed in the Garden view room with tatami mats. The staff will actually rearrange the room for you during dinner and set up your beds if you select this room. That was a very nice touch, so make sure you don't leave your room a total mess before dinner! I have added a picture of the beds after they were set up. The garden view was well worth the money we spent for it. Very relaxing and beautiful. And surprisingly enough...the tatami beds were super comfortable and warm!
AAnonymous UserA perfect experience! The hotel's location is incredibly convenient, right near the subway station.
The annex has a dedicated check-in area, and they offer Chinese-speaking service, which is fantastic! The minibar is well-stocked with free drinks and alcohol, very generous of the hotel. The provided pajamas are also super comfortable~ Most importantly, the private onsen in the room is amazing. After a long day of exploring Kyoto on foot, relaxing in your own private bath in your room is pure bliss ❤️ 100% perfect!
GGuest UserWe stayed at Green Rich Hotel Kyoto for two nights, and I can’t say enough good things about our experience. It was truly one of my favourite hotels — and that’s saying a lot, considering I’m a seasoned traveler who has visited 36 countries.
Location: The hotel is conveniently situated about a 10-minute walk from Kyoto Station, with multiple bus stops located right at the entrance. Getting around the city couldn’t have been easier.
Service: The level of hospitality was excellent. From the front desk to the restaurant staff, everyone was attentive, helpful, and genuinely welcoming.
Breakfast: The breakfast buffet exceeded expectations, offering a wide variety of dishes to choose from. Even better, it’s included in the room rate, making it exceptional value for money.
Room: Although the room was not particularly large, the space was utilized very efficiently. A pleasant surprise was the massage chair in the room, which provided a wonderful way to relax after long and busy days of sightseeing.
Overall, Green Rich Hotel Kyoto delivered an outstanding stay in every aspect. I will definitely choose this hotel again on my next visit to Kyoto.
Bravo!

MM513667****The hotel service was absolutely amazing! I left my bag in an Uber, and the front desk staff went above and beyond to help me get it back. The hot spring and the rooftop bar were also fantastic experiences, and even after check-out, they were incredibly patient with me and my friend storing our luggage multiple times. I fell in love with this hotel and will definitely be staying here again!
