Hampton Inn & Suites Worcester

I stayed in the Hampton Inn because of it's proximity to my doctors office. It was forecasted to snow and my doctor's appointment was absolutely necessary for me to receive my infusion of medication on schedule despite the forecasted snow. The service I received was good although it began with some confusion about my bill. My reservation was prepaid but it took a while to find this information in the hotel's computer system. I had a restful evening and got to my appointment in the morning without incident and for this I am grateful. There were a few issues that I think need to be addressed. First, ice was not available on each floor and there was no complimentary water in my room. I was disappointed with the unsatisfactory condition of the refrigerator and there was no recycling bin in my room. There was no handle or bar on the shower door to open the door after showering and there was no place to put my towel convenient to the shower stall once I was done. The toilet paper holder was awkward to use forcing me to remove the toilet paper from it and leave it on the sink. These issues are minor in nature but cumulatively they made my stay below average for the price I paid. It was not horrible and no part of my stay was compromised but I have stayed at other Hampton Inns that were exceptional, which is why I chose this one for this important stay. I did have a choice of a Marriot equidistant from my doctor's office. In the future, if I am in need of staying overnight convenient to my doctor's office, I will give the Marriot a chance. Thank you for your attention to these issues and I am hopeful that they are addressed to make the stay of other travelers exceptional.
Riverview Inn & Suites

We stayed at the Riverview for two nights for a wedding in nearby Bristol, RI. The hotel served our purpose very well. It was obvious that the rooms were recently refurbished and the location was very clean as well. It appears that work is ongoing. The indoor pool (closed) looks like it was just repainted. Additionally, there is a large open space, riverside, with a basketball court, spot for a volleyball net, gazebo, and children's playground. A bit of maintenance and that can be a very valuable asset. No food on site. A few ”grocery store purchased” snacks were in the lobby for breakfast. However Roger's family restaurant less than a mile away was inexpensive and very good. Jillian's tavern shares a parking lot with the hotel. Very nice inside with good looking menu, but we just spent an hour there for a drink. If our schedule had permitted we would definitely have tried a meal. Convenient location right off of I95 so travel to Bristol area and Providence or even Fall River is very convenient. Staff was very attentive and housekeeper even told us on the way out that she would check our room and clear security deposit right away. If you need a nice place to stay, reasonably priced, and want to use it primarily for a roof over your head, this is a great stop. When pool is open or if you have young children for basketball and playground, it's even better.
Pilgrim Sands on Long Beach

The hotel is located about a 5-10 minute drive just outside of Plymouth. It is in a residential area with nothing else around it but it is right on the beach of Warren Cove. One side is set up as a motel with doors on the outside, and the other side with room doors on an interior hallway. The kids loved watching how high the water came up in the morning at high tide. In the afternoon it is great for walking and skipping rocks, and watching the gulls & sandpipers. It was a bit too chilly to use the outdoor pool, but the indoor pool and hot tub area were great. Both were a bit smaller than expected, but not usually occupied. Continental breakfast is served daily from 7-10 consisting of the usual breakfast pastries, a couple of cereals, and a Belgian waffle maker. Coffee, hot chocoate, tea, apple & orange juices were also available, as well as some yogurts in the fridge. The owners let me know that the restaurant located in the hotel should be open in a few months, and that all the rooms were getting redone in the next year. I already reserved a 2-bedroom suite for next August.
Holiday Inn Express Boston-Waltham

The two women booked a twin room but were given a king-size bed room. When adjusting the room, the communication with the manager was not smooth and the attitude was bad. The hotel is very far from anywhere and the three-day transportation cost several hundred dollars!!!
Fairfield Inn & Suites Boston Logan Airport/Chelsea

We stayed here for one night before moving to a Cambridge hotel. Rates are certainly much cheaper than a Boston or Cambridge hotel, and rooms are big. As this was the middle of our trip, we took advantage of the coin-operated laundry facilities, which was great. Closes early though; i think 10pm, which is not ideal if you have several loads to do. Breakfast was good: standard for Fairfield Inns. Front desk staff not friendly, but not rude. Tip: choose and ask for room nearer the elevator. We were given rooms near the end of the corridor, and it was quite a long walk for seniors with luggage! Choose room carefully if distance from room to elevator is an issue Nothing to see anywhere near the hotel, but for an overnight airport hotel at the start or end of a trip, it is ok.

Breakfast is not provided, but there is a kitchen in the room where you can prepare your own meals. There is a free washer-dryer downstairs. There is also a gym. Clean the room once a week. You can get anything from the front desk in the middle.

My friend and I were on a road trip and just 'going with the flow'- stopping wherever we felt like it. This is often hit and miss when comes to hotels, but we were definitely happy with this choice! Big room, extra clean, big bathroom (also extra clean), everything worked and the staff was awesome.
Hampton Inn Hadley-Amherst Area
4.3/599 Reviews
Second time I have stayed here and it is a great option if you want to be convenient to both Amherst and Northampton (or even South Hadley) as it's in the middle of everything. Easy drive to all the 5 colleges/towns. Plenty of free parking and you can even catch the PVTA right next to the hotel if you don't want to drive around. Room was huge, modern and well-maintained. We also were happy to be able to do laundry here (reasonably priced coin-op including detergent, change available at front desk), a nice perk when on a road trip. Breakfast was typical Hampton Inn, with a good selection of waffles, bagels, fresh fruit etc. Common areas were clean and staff were friendly and helpful. There's even an indoor pool and a gym. Good value for the money. We will always have this place in mind when visiting the area!
Lakeside Inn

This inn used to be really great, being cheaper than most and really well situated, being near Boston. The breakfast used to be really good also, but it’s not offered anymore. However the inn didn’t age really well. First the parking lot is in an awful state, so be careful with your car. Our room was in really bad shape: the bath tub was rusty, the AC noisy and there was a blind in the window, but no drapes, so the sunlight was entering the room by the side in the morning, waking us up. The ice machine wasn’t working. And there was only one set of towel in the room for two queen beds. Note that there is no service in the room, nobody come to make the beds and empty the trash. The worst part for us pas the problems with the door. On the second day of our stay, we realised that the door of the room wasn’t locking at all. We were assured that it would be fixes first thing in the morning, but when we arrived the following evening, the door was still unlocked. We were lucky that nothing was stolen. I tried to talk with a manager to request a discount and was told they would contact me during the week, but they never did. I tried to contact them through Expedia and they didn’t care to offer anything. Lately I tried to contact them directly and once again they assured me they would call me back, but 2 weeks later I still didn’t hear for them. This hotel and the management clearly didn’t care for their clients and the quality of their installation, so avoid this place.

We had a great experience here. I had three rooms rented for a group and we didn't have an issue with any of the rooms or amenities. Rooms were all clean and well stocked. Food at the restaurant on site was great. The breakfast was great. And everyone at the front desk was very friendly. We really enjoyed our stay.
