The hotel is located near the Kawaguchiko Bridge, opposite Ubuyazaki, a good place to take pictures of the sunset with the reflection of Mount Fuji. It takes about 20 minutes to walk across the bridge, so you don’t have to wait for the bus. If you take the bus and get off at Oki Station, it takes about four minutes to walk to the hotel. The hotel front desk can speak English, and there are also some Chinese regulations for the hotel. The functions and precautions of the public areas are printed and shown to us, so there is no trouble of language communication. We live on the third floor, and they helped us send our luggage upstairs. If we contact the front desk before leaving, they will also help us take it down. The service is particularly good. The hotel bathroom and shower room are shared, but they are clean and tidy; the first floor is equipped with a kitchen and kitchenware, and you can also cook by yourself
The location is close to Kawaguchiko station. About 15-20min walk in a quiet neighborhood. Though the hotel is quite old, I appreciate the fact that it's giving opportunities for the elders to work in a hospitality industry. Plus, you can wake up really early, go to the street and have a perfect photo with Mt. Fuji.
Not a bad hotel, with a spacious room, shared kitchen, living room and bathroom, the downsides are very cold rooms and icy floors, overall I liked everything, self-check-in, close to the bus stop and train. There is a washing machine.
It was a common love hotel feeling. Since I used it in a business plan, the room rate is cheap and reasonable. I'm glad to arrive for free in the morning.
The hotel is backed by the mountain and the lake, the environment is beautiful, the room is hygienic and the service is in place. Especially the boss is very good, there is no convenience store around, and the traffic is inconvenient. After the boss learned about it, he took the initiative to drive me to the supermarket a few kilometers away for shopping. After checking out the next morning, the weather was bad, and the boss drove me to the bus station again. Thank you very much.
A good ryokan with onsen. Good service, spacious room with traditional Japanese futoras instead of a bed, varied breakfast and excellent onsen - both public and private.
Of the minuses - location (50 minutes by bus from Kawaguchiko, which runs very rarely) and the lack of a cooler with cold/hot water (but this is more due to the traditional nature of the hotel).
It's a pity that we were unlucky with the weather - it rained both in the evening and in the morning, Fuji was not visible. Otherwise, everything is fine.
So lucky to have booked this house! The house is right next to Lake Yamanaka, and you can see the lake through the window. The owner is super super super nice. She drove to the platform to pick us up and finally sent us to the station. The next morning, she got up early and drove us to the lake to watch the sunrise of Mount Fuji. She also found a good angle on the mountain to stop and let us take pictures. The aunt told us about the check-in spots around and lent us her bicycle to go around the lake, which made our experience full. Next time I go to Mount Fuji, I will book the aunt's hotel~ I will also recommend it to my friends who are going to Mount Fuji!
The room is very old and it is a hotel run by an old grandmother. Go in and feel like crossing to the Japanese drama of the 80s and 90s! The room is straight out of Mount Fuji! The room actually has the cleanliness of ordinary families, and the public bathhouse pool is hot spring water. The hotel actually doesn't have so many people. You can still enjoy an oversized bathroom for a staggered bath. There are several toilets on the upper and lower floors of the toilet. There is no need to worry about grabbing the toilet at all. And the hotel is less than 10 minutes walk from Kawaguchiko. It can be said to be very friendly. It is recommended to try the authentic Japanese-style hotel. The hotel has free wifi and air conditioning. There is a private car transfer to Kawaguchiko Station at 8:30 and 9 o'clock every morning. If you miss it, you can also take the bus next to it and walk to Kawaguchiko Station for about 20 minutes.
PPpemikaI arrived late at night from Fuji Station and had to pay 3,700 yen for a taxi. I was surprised when I got there because the house was located on a hill and the road was very dark. I asked the taxi driver to wait while I walked down to check. Luckily, the lights were on and I found the host waiting to welcome us warmly, even though it was already late.
Owner had already prepared hot water and asked what time we would like to take a bath. She even guided us to a small onsen. The host was very attentive and kind.
Although the place looked a bit scary at night from the outside, the inside was very warm and cozy. When I woke up the next morning, I felt completely rested. The room was clean, and the host’s hospitality made the whole experience feel so worthwhile. I felt like the money I spent was totally worth it—it gave me not only comfort but also beautiful memories.
The atmosphere was like staying in a countryside vacation home—quiet, peaceful, and heartwarming.
If you’re planning to rent a car, this is definitely a place I’d recommend. There’s a parking space, and it’s not crowded at all.
I truly want to recommend this place!
WWorld_WandererNice little photo spots around inside hostel (heater nearby), experience corner allows you to try Kimono (free to try inside hostel, chargeable if you want to wear out), and do some little craft. They sell handmade stuff too.
There’s a normal kitchen table you can use, and little lockers (with key) if you want to deposit small items near the reception.
Washer and dryer are each available for use at a fixed charge (300 yen each, Jan 2025).
Japanese style bath house available.
Last photo shows the 5 steps to lay the bedding in the room. Decent space and aircon is warm enough for winter period; though there’s no floor heating, they have a table with cloth around that you can use to keep your feet warm.
Amenities is 4/5 because they don’t allow you to use the shower for free after check out, but they still allow the use of kitchen, and toilet after check out.
Luggage deposit before check in and after check out is free as of Jan 2025.
CcassapocketKawaguchiko Station Inn
Convenient location right opposite the station
No lift in building, but the building is only 4 storeys high.
Tatami bedding is soft and comfortable, room is warm and clean. And very spacious - enough for 3 and 2 big luggage and still space to move about. Kettle and water pitcher provided. Yukata, towel and toothbrush provided.
Onsen was great - went multiple times and was always almost empty, perhaps everyone was shy. Otherwise individual cbathing cubicles are also available, though only 2.
Toilets are separate, common one on every floor. Same, never saw anyone else at the same time nor had to wait, perhaps everyone is out most of the time.
Best part of the rooms is the view… 🤩
Tldr: very convenient location with spacious warm rooms, great views and free onsen.

DdolenieMy stay here was truly memorable. The room was traditionally Japanese and very comfortable.
The host was always kind, helpful, and quick to respond whenever I needed anything.
Bicycles were freely available for guests, which made it easy and enjoyable to explore the area, I was able to cycle around the lake in just a few hours, and the views were absolutely stunning.
If you’re feeling motivated, I highly recommend waking up before sunrise and biking about 20 minutes to the Chureito Pagoda. Watching the sun rise behind Mount Fuji from there is a breathtaking and unforgettable experience.
This stay will remain one of the most touching and special memories of my time in Japan.
PPiizZI had an amazing experience staying at this place! From the moment I arrived, everything was perfect. The host was incredibly kind and welcoming, making check-in smooth and easy. The room was spotlessly clean, cozy, and thoughtfully decorated, making me feel right at home.
One of the things I appreciated most was the attention to detail – from the comfortable bed and quality amenities to the quiet, peaceful atmosphere. The location was also very convenient, with easy access to public transport, restaurants, and local attractions.
Overall, it was a fantastic stay and I would definitely come back again. Thank you for such a warm and memorable experience!
GGuest UserA beautiful quaint guesthouse with a goat pet. Ben san and Kaori san were great host. I had dinner at the guest house which was beautifully presented. It was a 5 course italian theme meal with coffee. Thr gurst house is a littlr further from train station but pick up can be arranged. There were many restaurants within walking distance from the guest house. Several Walking and hiking trails are doable from guesthouse. The walls were not totally soundproof, but no issue in japan. My room had a sun roof which was great but it also woke me up with the sun light shinning through early morning. May not be a bad thing as it helped tp start the day early.
SSTReceived the instructions to check in days before our stay, and instructions are super clear.
The house is very clean, and comes with everything we need - stove, washer and other basics. Ground floor is the living hall and bathroom, upstairs there’s one bedroom and outer area where are floor bed are placed.
We went there with average temperature of 4 degrees so the floor were freezing cold and it took a while to activate the heat.
Location wise pretty good, right opposite there’s a 7-11, and down the street 10-15 mins walk there’s the Hikawa Clock Shop, but we don’t see any restaurant nearby maybe because we were there during New Year closure
KkimkimujintaniIt takes about 15 minutes to walk from Kofu Station. There was a staff inside. (Recently, Japanese guest houses are corona and there are many unmanned places where staff do not correspond.) The staff response was normal. The building is also like that, but the building was old and it was a Russian style building that reminded me of the old building when I traveled to Russia from Japan.
