Hotel is about 15 min walk to one public onsen and 25 mins to the next. The surrounding hotels have day passes that you can pay to enter but times are very limited. The town is pretty dead so not much to see. Kokeshi museum is about a 50 minute walk from the hotel. Since it was pouring the whole time, I didn’t venture out to it. Hotel staff was very kind and patient to explain local attractions. I think the area just doesn’t have much to offer.
There are restaurants and convenience stores nearby, the facilities are minimal but adequate, the line is convenient, and I was able to stay cheaply even though it was the day before a holiday - I was very satisfied with everything.
I'll definitely use this hotel again when I go to Sendai.
Very good, although it is a bit far from the station. But the hotel facilities are very good, the staff are also very enthusiastic, and helped to call a taxi when checking out.
The room is still relatively large, quiet and comfortable, the mirror on the wall is very chic, impressive, like the sauce soup for breakfast, typical Japanese ^_^
In complete contrast to my previous night at a different city, coming to this hotel was a total change.
Friendly desk staff, helpful and accommodating. Well informed and willing to help.
The room was small but enough for one night. The bed was really comfortable as well.
The hotel has a Hot Bad that accommodates 4~6 people at once.
Really wonderful being able to take a very hot bad at such large place.
and all at no extra charge.
Only thing bad I have to say about the place is there was this smell of ”fresh” paint all throughout.
Bothered me a bit, but it was easy to put up with.
I will be staying again in October and look forward to it.
Unfortunately I took no photos. Will do so next time.
Wonderful lodging newly created in 2017 by former owners of five hotels in the fishing town of Onagawa, a city that was devastated by the 3/11/2011 Tohoku earthquake and tsunami. El Faro is unique with trailer homes repurposed into B&B style rooms. El Faro is next to the Onagawa Station on the Ishinomaki Line which connects to Sendai by one transfer to the Senseki Line. The town is almost finished with rebuilding the port area, including a new shopping mall full of gift shops and restaurants, The rooms are clean and well appointed. The breakfast is served by Okasei, a seafood restaurant in the shopping mall; its one of the best hotel breakfasts that Ive enjoyed in all of Japan! Excellent value with beautiful presentation, like in a fine restaurant.
Pet-friendly cat hostel. Small, medium and large dogs welcome.
Pet cleaning fee is extra
There are places nearby where you can take your dog for a walk
The largest room has a refrigerator, microwave, massage chair, and ice machine.
And all you can drink liquor
With the reservation on the day, I could only choose a smoking room on other reservation sites, but from the trip.com app, I was able to request a non-smoking room and actually stayed in a non-smoking room.
The parking lot is opposite the hotel building and across the road, close and convenient.
The room had the minimum necessary facilities and was comfortable.
The air conditioning seems to be common in the whole building, and I could only choose the strength of the fan, and I felt a little hot, but I was able to open the window and adjust it, so there is no problem.
It seemed to be the best Merritt that it was close to the restaurant in front of the station.
The place is walkable distance from train station. Accessible food places and 7-11 store. Ishinomaki is quiet and cosy area to stay in. Morning breakfast is nice and check in and out is easy.

GGuest UserThis hotel is good if you stay in ISHINOMAKI! I was recommended and stayed.
The room was clean and good.
It was just a hot day, so I tried to put in the air conditioner, but there is no air conditioning function! I was a little surprised at this!
When I contacted the front desk, he said, ”I'm sorry, but please open the window” ...

GGuest UserVery good, although it is a bit far from the station. But the hotel facilities are very good, the staff are also very enthusiastic, and helped to call a taxi when checking out.
GGuest UserVery close to a JR station, very reasonable price, excellent traditional Japanese food and onsen, comfortable room, friendly staff, but the only shortfall is no luggage storage is allowed after check out at 10 a.m. (not even the same day storage). We have to carry the luggage to the public locker of the next JR station for temporary storage.
GGuest UserThe location is close to the fish market between the inner bay and Tanaka Mae, so the range of action is wide, and the selection of shops is wide.
Pre-check-in is very easy. It was very easy because there were few exchanges from the inn.
GGuest UserExcellent services. Traditional breakfast is amazing! Food are delicious! Although the bathroom and toilets are share, however, it was a sparking clean. Around 6 mins walk to the Main Street for shopping and 10 minutes to the station.
We love this place and definitely will be back!

AAzizullah StanikzaiThe stay in general was suitable only some limitations for general rooms such share showers, toilets was confusing. But it is nearby Furukawa station
