Jaz Soma Beach

Soma Bay
The Solymar beach resort is not the most expensive resort in the Hurghada/Safaga area, but it’s also not the cheapest. Because of this, we were expecting it to be quite middle-of-the-range in terms of quality. At every turn, we were pleasantly surprised and delighted. The staff were friendly and courteous - whether at the reception, in the restaurant, or walking past someone watering the grass, you are guaranteed a friendly greeting. Everyone is quick to know their customers - after just a day in our usual spot on the beach, Ahmed knew our usual order. The hyper-energetic Magic Entertainment team members were also quick to build rapport and make us feel included in the resort vibes. We plunged immediately into extreme relaxation with a “honeymoon massage” at the spa, which included time in the dry and steam saunas, a special hammam exfoliation ritual on a heated marble slab, a full-body Dead Sea mud wrap, and an oil massage. The masseuses were talkative and playful - possibly not to everyone’s taste, but this seems to be the Egyptian way and certainly got me smiling and giggling along. There is not a moment of the day when you might be at risk of going hungry. From the early breakfast in the main restaurant, to the late breakfast at the beach, to the drinks and snacks on offer throughout the day at the pool bar and restaurant, there is always a wide array of quality F&B choices. There is some variation from day -to-day options, and it’s always worth checking out the “fresh-from-the-grill” area to see what the day’s speciality may be. Part of the stay includes one complementary meal at one of the two a la carte restaurants (Italian/Egyptian) where the food is a level or two up from what’s served in the buffets. Go hungry - the Egyptian meal included a starter of hot and cold mezze, a soup, a main course and a dessert (with alternative plant-based and kiddies’ menus). The resort has done a lot to ensure that it is eco friendly. Apart from the usual request to hang up towels to save water on unnecessary cleaning, they also purify their own water, which is left in your room in chilled glass bottles (it tastes a little weird, but it’s good for the planet). Overall, highly recommend the Solymar resort.
Zya Regina Resort and Aqua Park Hurghada

The Regina is a basic all inclusive hotel right in the centre of Hurghada. Easy walking distance to the Marina and bars, restaurants etc are right outside the front door. Majority of staff are friendly, tips get you better service (as in most places in Egypt). Samir who cleaned our bungalow was absolutely fantastic, every day he left something else in our room that helped us enjoy our stay. From a kettle (not typical to get in Egypt all inclusive) to hotel embroidered slippers and a wonderful smile every single day, I hope the management cherish him as he is simply brilliant. The bungalow was spacious enough but the shower was tiny, beds comfy, plenty of clean towels too. The food is basic and not to the standard I’ve had in other hotels in Hurghada but there was always something to have. The beer is poured in to small glasses from a bottle and all the spirits are local equivalents. If like me you need coffee early morning (before 7) then you’ll have to pay for it. They have a machine in a little cafe area and at the pool/beach bars but machine coffee is not available whilst breakfast is being served. Instead it’s provided in a huge urn and not very palatable. If you arrive before 3pm you’re not entitled to have lunch or dinner after 12 o’clock check out on your last day…they cut your band off when you check out. If you check in after 3pm then you can get a voucher from reception which allows you to have lunch. I’ve never had this at any other hotel in Egypt (this was my 18th visit) and adds to the basic feel of the hotel. If you’re looking for a cheap hotel to enjoy the ever present sunshine then the Regina could be for you.

If I can rate this hotel more than 5 stars, I will do so. Those people are hospitality gurus, the way they treated me and my family made us all overwhelmingly happy. Every single detail was taken into consideration and exceeded my expectations. -Once in the restaurant my son was hesitant and in seconds the chef made him a special order that suits his taste. -Snacks and pizzas are so yummy. -The hotel is nice and cozy. -The views are relaxing. -Super clean Rooms, Pools and restaurants. -The main restaurant served seafood several times. However, It was never smelly and this is a plus. -Access was available to Jaz Casa Del Mar's lovely sandy beach. Words won't express my feelings when the hotel sent me a complimentary birthday cake on my birthday and another compliment was sent the next day (fruit platter, nuts and maccarons😋😋) Special thanks to reception team members (Mohamed for his close follow up on any issue, Ibrahim for his complement and Philopater for receiving us). Special Thanks to the pool bar men (Abd El Salam and Mina) they served delicious coctails 😉👌 -Special thanks to Ali Barakat in the Snacks bar -Special thanks to Ali & Hamdoun in the main restaurant. -Special thanks to Mohamed from the room service team. -Special thanks to Fares at the beach. -Special thanks to Sentido's team for making our vacation an unforgettable one. Will be back again soon ISA All the best...

Pool is great it’s right by the beach so perfect spot to relax when the animation dont play depressing music. Too many managers guest relations chef swarm your sunbeds to ask if everything is ok. I told them the food was cold on day one and still cold on day 4 so they don’t listen. The pool bar food is awful the women cooks the burgers at 11 and they sit cold for an hour she refuses to serve fresh and hot and she laughs in your face when we ask for hot. Or she puts the old burgers in chip fryer and back on hot griddle. Advise They need to just cook as they go. It’s no faster her cooking a batch early as she makes people stand for ages waiting for no reason. The only drinks that is ok is Coca-Cola sprite and beer. Everything else very poor do t bother with the cocktails cause they don’t. Breakfast is all old veg, first lot of fruit is old, wait til later to get better. Dinner and lunch food quality not good. Nothing for kids until they do pizza once a week. Even the pizza is under cooked sometimes and a cheese and tomato pizza only consists of bread and cheese… needs tomato on base and on top. They waste so much food by not getting it right. Too many chefs not enough knowledge. The Asian just dont bother again cold and not Asian food. Not authentic. BBQ chicken ok if you don’t get a plate of bones. Roast turkey is ok. The staff are very good friendly until you complain then you get funny looks they are clearly having a moan that we don’t like something. We do t want to complain as it ruins the holiday. Rooms ok a bit tired. We paid for two sea view rooms together, they could not do this and one room is 4 doors away and had a view of the restaurant. Not what we paid for and told by the reception it can not be done. But guest relations said it could be done be and offered to move us but who wants to spend time unpacking and repacking If you are local this hotel for you but do t bother if u are English
Sunny Days El Palacio Resort & Spa

The hotel has 4 stars. And in the standards of Egypt it deserves it. It's fairly clean. The food in the restaurant is well presented and tasty. The breakfast could be more varied but there is plenty to eat. The hotel has such a medieval style, so despite the fact that it is already old, small damaged furniture, doors and the like fit into the atmosphere. Imaginative. Lots of comfortable sun loungers. Lots of sea. Few pools. There is a piece of the reef. The vendors on the site are not intrusive. I missed coffee and tea in the restaurant during lunch and dinner. Generally, you can safely come. Although you can see some savings due to the situation in the world. And ... and renovations are underway. So they will improve.

The room was so spacious, I was a solo traveler, but the room was big enough for 4 people. The room had its own walk in closet, and the bathroom was great. Shower space was huge, also had a spot to sit/ lie down whilst showering. There was also a nice balcony overseeing the resort. The rooms were cleaned everyday, I had a guy named Sabary cleaning my room, who is a top bloke, extremely hard working, and he could speak 4 languages (Arabic, English, Russian and German). He tried his absolute best to keep the rooms clean, and to ensure you were enjoying yourself. The food was great, there was a huge variety, the aqua park and pools were awesome. Everything about this resort was just brilliant.

Instagram-style Internet celebrity hotel. The breakfast is very good. The hotel is not big. It is suitable for young people. There are few such clean hotels in Egypt. However, the transportation is a bit inconvenient. There is a taxi service at the front desk.

Very good hotel Clean rooms Check-in and check-out process was perfect Pools and aqoa were amazing but there is no deep pool all the pool is 90cm hight which is not good for me. The food variety is limited in some meals The animation team is very good at night but not very active in the morning. We recently came back from our stay and would recommend this hotel to our friends and family. The food was ok, my girls really enjoyed the pizza oven by the beach for lunch and the BBQ options in the evening. I especially enjoyed the desserts and cake options. The pool was great, slides were open 11-1 and then 3-4 with breaks for lunch. The staff were really helpful and the service was fantastic. Evening entertainment- we only did the kids club which my 8 year old really enjoyed the singing and dancing. Private beach was great to have for snorkeling. Rooms need an upgrade, but that is reflected in the overall price.

The food may not be fresh. All four of us had a bad stomach this time, and we dared not to have the meals in the restaurant.
