Aparthotel Adagio Marseille Timone

This will be a full review. First off the hotel is near a Metro station and near a “Gare” so a high speed train or metro is 5-15 minutes away by walk. The area of the hotel was fairly dirty, and classically smelled of sewers but that is just how France is sometimes. The check in process was great, they answered all our questions, were very knowledgeable and between both of them spoke very good French and English. It was explained to us that there would be no one entering our suite to clean during our stay. Alright. Not a huge issue but would have been nice. It can be done by request but I presume for a fee. (Will explain the snark later) Entering our room, it was bigger than our room was in Paris. It had a normal hotel size TV with decent channels. We had booked a double bed which was actually just two single beds. Unfortunately they didn’t even have a sheet between the mattress cover and the comforter. This is an issue because the A/C doesn’t work at all and leads to the window being open all night. There are mosquitos and we got bugged very often by them. But it was too warm in the room to close the window and the comforter was too warm to have on all the way. This led to some really poor sleeps. They do have a kitchenette which was decent but note that it only has enough plates and cutlery for 2 people. The bathroom was alright, fairly clean. They only left us 1 toilet paper roll which they again don’t come in your room to refill. They gave two towels, two face towels and a bath mat, fairly standard. It also had a great towel warmer which was a nice perk. Unfortunately we wanted new towels halfway through our stay and we’re told we had to pay extra for new towels! What the heck. That’s just BS. The shower was crap. Hot water only stayed on for a few minutes at most if you were lucky. The shower head is fine but the shower is designed in such a way, with no shower curtain just a 1/3 glass pane that water just spills all over the bathroom. You have to hold the shower head the whole time making it difficult to enjoy your shower. So we decided to wash our towels ourselves and some clothes as we are on a longer vacation. We had to buy our own soap, no problem with that. But the washing machine had a wash time of 40 minutes . We went down 40 minutes later and there was still 20 minutes on the timer. Not just that, but the clothes drier was broken and clearly had been for ages. So instead we had to drape our wet clothes across our room to dry everything. This was my first time staying at an adagio aparthotel. Had things been a little more standard and complimentary and well thought out for 200$ CAD a night, I would consider staying again but save yourself the trouble and pay a little more for a nicer place.

Nice Waterfront
A small, pleasant hotel a few meters from the sea promenade. There are restaurants in the vicinity and 2 supermarkets opposite the hotel. Distance from the railway station 15 minutes on foot, from the tram from the airport 8 minutes on foot. The hotel rooms are smaller, which is standard in France. The staff at the reception and in the restaurant were very pleasant and helpful, on the last day we got breakfast at 6:00 a.m., despite the fact that it was officially only from 7:30 a.m. The hotel provides luggage storage for early arrival or late departure. We got a free upgrade to a superior room facing the courtyard. The room is new, clean, comfortable. The bathroom is also small but clean and well equipped. Cleaning and towel change was done every day and the cleaning was detailed. The breakfast was excellent (yogurts, cereals, ham, cheese, sausages, scrambled eggs, croissants, cakes, fruit, fruit puree, jams,...), the weak link was the coffee. The drip coffee in a thermos was weak, the coffee from the machine (cappuccino, latte, cocoa) was made of powder. At the bar, they have an espresso machine, with such a small number of guests, the bartender would surely manage to make everyone a normal high-quality espresso, and the guests would appreciate it.

The hotel is a good choice for budgetminded travelers but it is somewhat distant from the center of the city. It took about a half hour to walk to the rotonde, which is the center of Aix. However, along the way to the rotonde are plenty of cafes, shops selling food, wine and bread. The route is pretty direct and leads directly to Cours Mirabeau, the main thoroughfare of Aix, You can take a taxi from the rotonde to the hotel for 8 Euros. Breakfast provided a nice selection of European breakfast choices and you could dine on the outside terrace on the days that it was open. The hotel didn't have laundry facilities, but there is a pressing service(dry cleaner) a short walk from the hotel on Gambetta that will do laundry. My personal biggest negative was that you have to climb a steep driveway and then some stairs to reach the entrance to the hotel. Although you can bypass the stairs by entering through the garage and taking a lift to the main floor, you still have to walk to reception at the entrance. If you're carrying luggage, either way it's a trek. I'm in my eighties, so at the end of a day of walking, climbing the hill was a chore. All in all not a bad choice.

Nice French Riviera Airport
The hotel is located just opposite to the airport which is really great for the people who need a place to stay and have an early flight time in the morning. The room rate is really reasonable, and it is really nice and clean. The room size is big with a wall flat screen tv. The bed is so comfort to sleep in. You have a boiler pot for coffee and tea in your room. The hotel staff is so nice and friendly, they are so helpful to the guest. The breakfast is very good here. Only one thing I would recommend them to improve is all about their parking lot. They should have a sign out in front of the parking lot because it is so confuse and really difficult to find it. I have to circle around the premise for 3 round before I can find it.

Although our stay was fine, we had a very bad experience. My brother-in-law forgot his tablet in his room. He had left it on the floor near the wall and in the morning upon drawing the curtains open the tablet was hidden behind so he didn't see it. Arriving in our next hotel destination (Villeneuve-Loubet) he realized the tablet was left in Toyoko-Inn. He immediately called the hotel and the security guy told him no tablet was found. He went to personally check the room that happened to be empty as no guest was in that room that night. He then told my brother-in-law he didn't find anything. We called the hotel again the following day and we got the same answer. We sent an e-mail to the hotel manager only to get the same answer. Since there was no other guest in that room it seems that only people from the hotel entered it. We can not believe a tablet can vanish without a human intervention so we suspect that somebody from the hotel found it but didn't deliver it to the reception. This matter ruined the remaining days of our vacation and left a bitter taste in our mouths. I sent a complaint to the Tourism Office in M****illes but they couldn't answer me as they are on public holidays! So, if you stay in that hotel double and triple check your room before you leave because if something valuable is forgotten it's more than certain it won't be recovered or compensated.

Nice City Center
Nice hotel, rooms are small but adequate (recommend it for couples or solo), breakfast is basic but good enough. The old town, marina and promenade are all easily accessible (couple minutes of walk), and the area around the hotel is filled with restaurants, bars etc. This might be the only downside, it was very noisy in the party ‘rush hour’ but if you are looking for night life, this hotel is right by the center of it. Overall a very positive experience.

Had a late night flight from Prague en route to Aix en Provence. Thought It would be easiest to just stay in an airport hotel and continue on in the am. The Kyriad was very reasonably priced and the compact rooms were immaculate. It is designed for travelers who need a place to stay just before or after a flight. Although we arrived well past the hours posted for a shuttle, when I called the hotel and asked if one might be available they said ”we'll pick you up in 10 minutes”. Only drawback I had in my main floor room was marginal internet. My friends on floors above said theirs was fine. Breakfast is not included, so plan accordingly. I'd happily stay here again when my travels require an overnight at the M****illes Airport.

Great gym, pool, restaurant, and bar. Very nice place and excellent staff. Only complaint is that there is not an earlier shuttle to the airport which is about a 6 /7 min walk away when there are clearly people such as myself and others who needed to be at the airport before 5 am. It’s an easy walk, which I took, however since the airport is under construction and there are no clear markings as to which side of the airport to go to, it took us nearly a half hour to reach our destination with 2 children in tow and pulling luggage. This could have been easily done with a shuttle service that coordinated with all these early flights. By 5 am the airport was packed with long lines. I will not stay here again for that reason. I paid the extra for a nice hotel with shuttle service. So it’s not worth it to me if there is only half of what is needed.

Nice Waterfront
The location is excellent and the room that touched us was spacious and comfortable, but very noisy: I was on the first floor and had no curtains: I had only black-out, i.e. we had two options: The hotel was very comfortable and was very comfortable and very comfortable. The room door has no barrier and the wifi is not good and is incompatible with the Iphone, unconceived today, where a large part of the passengers have Iphone. And the worst thing about this was the poor attention of the receptionist that was when we arrived at the hotel on Saturday 8 April morning, who when we asked for help to connect us, responded to the defensive and cruelly and showed very little The hotel is very comfortable and very comfortable, and it is very comfortable and very comfortable. And a last detail, not least: the hotel did not respect the rules of the Booking platform, through which I made the reservation (cancelable and without advance payment), according to which I had until 5 April at 23:59 p.m. to cancel the reservation. The hotel was very comfortable and the hotel was very comfortable and very comfortable.
